There's a 50% off sale in Research in Motion shares today! Why? Well, investors are still controlled by name brand marketing and past is prologue propaganda. The new open sourced business model has taken out Nokia (was #1 worldwide), RIM (was #2 worldwide) and guess whose #3. Yeah, I know. It'll never happen, you say [plug in your various fan boy reasons hear, ex. strong earnings growth - just like RIM, superior technology - just like Nokia, etc.) Just remember, our warning was a year ago and it was against the tide then as well.

A long break clears the mind for a writer, and I have to say that my mind is crystal clear. This is the complete opposite of the markets. The S&P looks pretty beat up these day.

What happens when the next Crisis hits and a partial if not complete Government shutdown occurs? What happens when that 35% of incomes and salaries stops being paid? What happens when prisons and other Government paid services run out of money? What happens when the next major banking run reveals that there is no WAY on earth the FDIC can truly insure all the deposits in the US (other than more money printing from the Fed)? What happens when the US defaults on its debts?

My guess is that if you were a buyer of the kool aid and hype several weeks or even months ago, your positions are now underwater or you have seen your gains evaporate. That is where the angst is coming from.

The subpoenas are part of a criminal investigation into questionable mortgage documentation (Linda Green) filed with Michigan’s Register of Deeds offices. The subpoenas were approved by the state court in Lansing June 13 and require responses by June 30.

Remember, we never actually “took the hit” we needed to take in 2008. The same junk debt remains in the system (it’s just been hidden by loosened accounting standards). The same enormous derivatives time bomb is still ticking (it’s over $600 TRILLION in size). None of these problems were solved. None were even addressed.
