Gasparino Discloses SEC Has Likely Issued Wells Notices To Former Lehman Executives

Tyler Durden's picture

Fox Biz' Charlie Gasparino reports that the SEC has likely issued Wells Noticed to former Lehman executives. It is unclear who they are but between Fuld, Callan, and Gregory, one can be sure that at least one of the three will be involved. Charlie also says the executives are trying to prevent the SEC from filing formal allegations. However, in light of the huge slap to the face for the SEC after the Repo 105 disclosure, we doubt Schapiro's farm will be amenable to yet another bust, like the Goldman and BofA settlements.

More from Fox Business:

On when the SEC will file charges against Lehman Brothers:
“This is coming from Dick Fuld, who told someone we spoke to, that September is when the rubber meets the road on this.”

Speculation surrounding the SEC preparing to file charges:

“You have to surmise, this is from top lawyers on Wall Street, that Wells Notices, have been issued. To somebody, we don’t know who.”

On what a Wells Notice means for Lehman Brothers:
“90%  to 95% of the time from what I understand, a wells notice results in an official charge. Right now they are basically trying to talk the SEC out of filing the official charges.”

On what Dick Fuld has to say about these rumors:

“We put a call into Dick Fuld and he has not gotten back to us.”

Just a different form of (economic) slavery enforced as always from the explosive end of the long arm of the "law". For the most part, only the "little" people spend more than a night in jail.

I heard Callan was so upset, she rushed out and bought another pair of Manolo's

These people should be serving time by now, not being served Well's notices.

The SEC might be desperate for more money, because you know they just settle for pennies on the dollar and no one ever goes to jail nowadays. The SEC is basically a Mafia boss looking for VIG from the players.

A Wells Notice is so reasonable and swollen with empathy and done with delicate understanding...surely the product of a advanced justice system.

Let it be said...the Nobles rule at great and personal sacrifice.
