1) Zerohedge obtains declassified documents proving gold price management by US authorities
Despite the vapid proclamations of such outlets such as NY Mag (which I use to line my rabbit's cage, thanks guys!) , the facts are the facts. And the facts indicate that US elites including the intelligence agencies have been involved in 'price management' schemes for gold since at least the late 1960s. In the past week, Zerohedge has obtained two separate declassified documents proving beyond all doubts that US elites have engaged in schemes to manipulate the price of gold upon global markets.
To those who do not understand the purpose of such machinations, the first question is to ask 'who benefits'? No doubt via the current schemes, the beneficiary have been the central banks and their power brokers. In particular for the situation in the United States, these schemes have enabled the US to deficit spend under fiat conditions and EXPORT price inflation to foreign creditor nations , since the official demonetization of gold in 1971. This has been possible due to the status of the US dollar as world reserve currency , and the implicit pricing of strategic commodities such as Oil in US Dollars. Thus, the unusual alliance between the United States and the human-rights paradises / petrostates such as Saudi Arabia. This has all been detailed in my article Gold and Systemic Crisis, which I recommend reading, as it directly connects with these recently declassified documents regarding gold manipulation. The Oil-Gold-Dollar connection is critical to understand how the scam functions.
The purpose then, in terms of gold price suppression in favor of the USDollar/Tbond complex, is to maintain a system in which the concentration of wealth flows upwards towards US-UK global elites which helps perpetuate their entrenched political control. Functionally, this governing structure best resembles 'oligopoly' -- that is an oligarchy with a monopoly. Indeed this is precisely what we have seen, as wealth inequalities between the top 1% of society and the rest of humanity reach levels never before seen in the United States.
As for the NY Mag and other ad hominem detractors, foolish proclamations such as what was published will only increase Zerohedge traffic. Once people get hungry for the truth , they never go back. It was always about the content, not the personalities. Thanks for the new readers.

During times of stability, the populace seems to tolerate some monetary inflation implicitly as a "fee" for management, or for benevolent economic stabilization--so long as it is very modest, say 2-3% per annum.
In crisis though, the rigour with which the monetary authorities arrogate power to themselves to create facilities and to intervene in markets derives from the unlimited power to create money (casino markers?). When the accumulated intrigues of many decades come home to roost in the abscess known as market panic, prudence-discretion-discipline are cast aside. The productive class must bear the burden (through outright and subtle confiscations of their physical property) of the crisis' management necessitated because of prolonged MISmanagement or even practiced larceny.
No longer is inflation a cost borne for the price of regulation, stability, refereeing, maintenance of free market principles, carrying capacity to service interest, but rather a perpetual invoice of increasing frequency produced to compel payment for policy mistakes and the systemic fraud of wealth transference. This is when the FED is shown for what it really is: a state sponsored monopoly for money creation and wealth transference from the governed to the central bank underwriters/political syndicate.
It is then that one must conclude that central banks do not exist to protect equally capital and labour, nor to assure the soundness and discipline of the system;...
But to plunder the general wealth and weal. Plunder modestly and surreptitiously while operating under the guise of clean free markets in times of "moderation". Operating openly and contemptuously of the productive class in times of crisis and with sweeping expropriation through their infinite channels of making claim upon their fellow man.
Taxes, withholdings, tax steering policy, IRAs, pensions, junk-corp-muni-state-sovereign-IMF bonds, shammy equities, promissory notes of every kind, entitlements, social programs, currency. Bag of tricks all.
All are riddled with the option of state confiscation. Whether it be whole or part, these all are subject to the caprice of powerful, unelected, and unchecked men.
Time perhaps to play LOT and turn back on Sodom if one is to live through destruction. Their power is to take, to withdraw far more from creation than is bestowed. They destroy.

At some point in time, if not already, it may become necessary to carry around the "informed citizen" survival pack: bandanna and goggles, before undertaking any effort in excercising our first amendment rights. Is that any different than a Guy Fawkes mask or the white marking those Roman senators were discussing so long ago?
Suffice it to say that this is a dangerous path for both parties.
Proper communication skills are a must however. I had to witness the unlawful breaking and entering by police into another person's property this weekend. A noise violation led to 12 mfing officers showing up on the premises. But for all their intimidation and desire to conduct an illegal search a call to an attorney and a request of badge numbers halted the violation of rights. People are a lot more afraid once they are accountable for their actions.
The primary reason personal identification items are removed from riot/use of force contact team member uniforms.

as far as the G20 meeting antics I was slumming around the Teee Veee dial and happened on NBC's Brian Williams (one of many assistant White House press secretaries), who reported on the excellent work security forces had done in clearing the area of protesters.

Holy f_ing crap, Mayhem. The piece on H1N1, combined with the (not-so-recent) advances in police/"peacekeeping" tools and the Navy protocols... Have you ever read the unabridged version of the Stand? I don't suppose you will have time now,and it is a rather long-winded piece, but it offers decidedly interesting social commentary. The scenario sketched out by you is different yet eerily reminiscent. Ultimately perhaps scarier. It is one thing to accidentally create megadeath-lethal pandemic (then use force to make sure it is indeed global in reach, and covered up until there is no one to ask for the truth), and another to manufacture one not so lethal to further leverage power and institute... what? Slavery? De facto incarceration of entire populations? Yet perhaps "scarier than I wish to comprehend" is not a valid reason not to try to ask WHY, and HOW this may benefit whomever it is benefiting?
