Jon Stewart's DSK Takedown Or The Market's "Touchy Feely" Invisible Hand
Ever since the DSK rape allegation surfaced, there has been an avalanche of opinions that the former head of the IMF has been "set up by vengeful Americans" and that the entire affair is nothing but a classic "Spitzer" repeat. It has gotten so far as 57% of the French population saying DSK was trapped in a plot by his enemies, a number that rises to a staggering 70% when only French socialists are queried. Well, since everyone is innocent until proven guilty, there is no point in further digging until DSK is either convicted by a jury or set free... But that does not mean that various media personalities can not have some long overdue fun at the IMF head's expense, whose past transgressions toward poor countries and "emerging economies" one can argue, dwarf his dramatic career implosion from last Saturday. And in keeping with the spirit of amusement, below is Jon Stewart's amusing takedown of the DSK situation to date.

The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are two show that encourage people to actually think. You may not like their liberal bias, but at least they are lampooning important issues that are otherwise ignored. For those of you who don't get that, you are elitist scum.

Yes both shows are very funny and smarter than 99% of msm programing but they are not useful because they perpetuate the left vs. right paradigm, keeping people thinking within that box which allows our false sense of choice.

The DSK bit was funny but to have it frontended in that particular show by pushing the OBL death psyops forward without even a hint of skepticism tells you the message of The Daily Show: conventional programming.

Used to be a big Jon Stewart fan. I find him very funny but wrong. He focuses mainly on criticizing the media and produces sheeple that will have a false sense of security because he "makes people think". Has he ever talked about socialism being dead and us being all screwed as a result?

For someone as liberal as some here claim him to be, I would say that JS is at his best when nailing CNN, showing them to be irrelevant and all but devoid of any substantive content. Ripping Fox is like shooting fish in a barrel, he just shows them for what they are, hypocritical shills. I laugh when he trots out the mouth pieces that flip-flop according to the political winds of the day. He routinely chews up and spits out O'Reilly on a regular basis...

The Stewart video cracked me up. While I did follow the story with great interest and took it as a serious issue, I enjoyed a little levity.
People who can not laugh and enjoy the humor of the Stewart clip are constipated, surly, proletariet robot droolers who wear Depends, can't leave the buildign with out supervision, and have their medications given to them every morning. We don't usually find them on internet blogs like this one until quarrelsome radio show hosts urge them to take a look, whereupon they sign on with names like "I am a bad ass dude" or some such, use a flashy obtrusive logo, and create a persona of a repugnant curmmudgeon who, while full of opinions, rarely offer any links to further enlightenment.

I got two siblings that work for the banks and the third one lives off oil leases. So what is that supposed to mean as far I am concerned? I want to end the FED and allow sovereign government to print its own debt free money. I also want to tax the very wealthy elites until it bleeds and claw back what they have stolen over the past 40-years.
In early 2007, Stewart had Alan Greenspan on his show and he point blank asked him "why do we need the Fed". I can't say that the MSM conservative media would go this far. Almost every media poll suggests that the public believes Jon Steward more so than other news media outlet.
Jon Steward deserves a medal for his reporting. He runs a comedy show unlike brainwashing media titans like Fox News and Rush Limbaugh. What the hell do you want him to do: quote passages from Mein Kampf or Das Capital.

Anyone who watches Stewart knows that he is, as he will tell you himself, first and foremost a comedian. Not a journalist, not a pundit. If you are uninformed and don't get the joke, or if your mind is made up and the joke offends you, that's your problem. If you get the joke and don't find it funny, switch channels.

Satire is a convenient excuse to spout ideas and take no responsibility but sadly the unifomred college generation looks to him for inspiration without realizing his material is not original, is written by 15+ staffers and always has a pro DNC agenda wether veiled or not. That is why every Democratic attack is followed up with 8 Republican party attacks. It is meant to give a sense of genuity to the attacks and exclaim, "Hey ..Stewart bashes the Pres. when he is wrong so everything else need be take at word". Once again the goal as always is to divide on silly issues to create a dramatic aura of importance to distract from crucial issues which need to be addressed.
