Last year video of Greek protests turning violent was enough to force Waddell & Reed to sell several thousand ES contracts which crashed the market. Will this year's catalyst be Spain (which may just be too big for the CDO known as the EFSF to bail out)? While the gatherings in Spain have been getting bigger (and judging by this live feed, the one tonight is the biggest yet), they have so far been peaceful. Yet with 21% unemployment, and according to some over half of youth without a job, just how long until someone decides to send a flaming Molotov cocktail at the riot police? Therefore 100,000 USD of public debt for every man woman and child in Greece.

Matter of time before Greek leadership does right by its people and defaults or the the general population goes beyond tax defiance and moves to open revolt.

It is eerie to watch his videos. Typically, his hand is shown holding a geiger counter in some public place with people walking all around him as if there was nothing of importance going on; while all along, the geiger counter in his hand reveals what is really happening. Harisebon is documenting the slow irradiation of the Japanese archipelago. A visual unfolding of a tragedy.
While watching these videos. it is hard not to wonder how many of the folks one sees walking down the street will come down with cancer in 10, 20 or 30 years. In fact, the videographer's life itself is in peril. Poignant.

I was at the Plaza del Sol last night. It was amazing to see a true democratic peaceful protest in action. I was very impressed with the organisation. They even had volunteers cleaning the plaza, food and water was donated by local resteraunts. The best part was hearing the speeches and reading all the signs, and quotes from many political leaders past and present. This type of protest would never have taken place back in the USA currently, it would be considered unpatriotic. Our founding fathers would have been proud to see this protest in action. Most of my friends back home when they think of protesting the government and making some change, they run out the local gun show and stockup... thats not how your get err done... I pitty those fools.....
