How To Stamp Out Cultural Marxism In A Single Generation
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/23/2015 20:50 -0500The insane lie that cultural Marxists seem to have conned themselves and others into believing is that their “activism” is somehow anti-establishment. In fact, social justice is constantly coddled and supported by the establishment. From politicians to judges to media pundits to the blogosphere, the overwhelming majority of people in positions of traditional power (even in supposedly conservative circles) have been more than happy to become the enforcers of the social justice warrior agenda, an agenda representing a minuscule portion of the public. There is no establishment for the PC army to fight; the establishment bias works vastly more in favor of their ideology than any other. Cultural Marxists ARE the establishment.
Hillary Clinton Pretends to Be Progressive: She's Actually Conservative
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/23/2015 18:40 -0500Reality is only what a politician does in office, not about mere rhetoric. Even when rhetoric is great, such as it was with Abraham Lincoln, it has relied upon honesty in order to be able to be so. Lying rhetoric tends simply to be forgotten by historians. It shouldn’t be, even if this requires us to remember some very bad rhetoric. Lies can be very important, no matter how bad the rhetoric might happen to be. History should deal with what’s important. So should voters.
Reflections On Venezuela's "Economic Miracle"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/23/2015 16:40 -0500What this economic crisis does highlight is that short-term success should never be taken as proof of a long-term solution. And this is particularly true when it comes to quasi-socialist and extreme populist governments. In the long-run, countries that follow these policies have a consistent track record, which is basically the same as what we’re witnessing now in Venezuela.
U.S. Shale Drillers Running Out Of Options, Fast
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/23/2015 11:15 -0500Much has been made about the impressive gains in efficiency and productivity in the shale patch, as new drilling techniques squeeze ever more oil and gas out of new wells. But the limits to such an approach are becoming increasingly visible. The U.S. shale revolution is running out of steam.
Why Is Wealth/Income Inequality Soaring?
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/23/2015 09:48 -0500Why is wealth/income inequality soaring? The easy answer is of course the infinite greed of Wall Street fat-cats and the politicos they buy/own. If conventional labor and finance capital have lost their scarcity value, then the era in which financialization reaped big profits is ending.
What Do You Actually Own as Opposed to HOPE You Own?
Submitted by Phoenix Capital Research on 10/23/2015 09:21 -0500Roughly ONE THIRD of the advisory firms the SEC examined failed to meet custody rule requirements.
New FBI Report Debunks Mythical "War On Police"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/22/2015 20:25 -0500Throughout the United States, Americans believe there is a “war on police.” A recent survey found 58% of Americans agree with this sentiment. A new, privately-funded billboard campaign hijacks the “Black Lives Matter” moniker to read “Blue Lives Matter,” highlighting powerful pushback from law enforcement sympathizers against activists. A deeper examination of the FBI's 2014 data, however, reveals that police are not only safe, but still running rampant in their liberal use of violence against the citizens they allegedly serve.
China's Red Capitalism Is The New Black Swan
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/22/2015 16:45 -0500From the bowels of Australia’s iron ore mines to the top of Dubai’s pointless 100 story office towers, the entire warp and woof of the global economy has been distorted and bloated by the central bank money printing spree of the last two decades, led by the red credit machines of Beijing. Everywhere economies have succumbed to over-building, over-consumption, over-financialization and endless dangerous, unstable speculation. Stated differently, China’s red capitalism is the new black swan. There is nothing rational, stable or sustainable about it.
Carl Icahn Launches Super PAC To Promote "No Brainer" Tax Reform, Combat Tax Inversions
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/21/2015 10:11 -0500We expect the ultimate outcome of Carl Icahn's Super PAC will be to make it easier for activists to pressure management teams into buying back even more of their shares - perhaps by granting them a tax amnesty on repatriating some of the $2 trillion in offshore cash if used for shareholder friendly activity - but then again we tend to be cynical.
Things Are Getting Scary: Global Police, Precrime, & The War On Domestic "Extremists"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/20/2015 21:50 -0500If you believe in and exercise your rights under the Constitution (namely, your right to speak freely, worship freely, associate with like-minded individuals who share your political views, criticize the government, own a weapon, demand a warrant before being questioned or searched, or any other activity viewed as potentially anti-government, racist, bigoted, anarchic or sovereign), you have just been promoted to the top of the government’s terrorism watch list.
Europe Secretly Starts Imposing TTIP Despite the Public’s Overwhelming Opposition
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/20/2015 20:38 -0500The terms of Obama’s proposed TPP ‘trade’ treaty with Asian countries won’t be made public until the treaty has already been in force for at least four years. The terms of Obama’s proposed TISA (Trade In Services Agreement) with 52 nations won’t be made public until the treaty has already been in force for at least five years. Obama’s proposed TTIP treaty with European countries has been so successfully hidden, that even the number of years it will be kept from the public isn’t yet known. Hello, international fascism — all in secret, until too late for the public to do anything.
A Fatal Accident Waiting To Happen: U.S. Healthcare
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/20/2015 12:41 -0500Many of the systems we take for granted are historical accidents. Either based on legacy systems hundreds of years old (higher education) or assembled in a short-term, ad hoc fashion (post-1940 national defense/ national security), these systems have expanded into vast patronage systems that are completely out of touch with 21st century needs, costs or realities. The U.S. healthcare system was not planned; it is largely accidental.
Will "Vice" Stocks' Out-Performance Put Clamps On The Bull Market?
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/20/2015 11:13 -0500Stocks of “vice” industries like alcohol and tobacco are showing leadership – that hasn’t always been good news for the market.
Big Business is Economic Cancer, Part III
Submitted by Sprott Money on 10/19/2015 12:42 -0500Free trade, as a matter of practicality, can only exist where all trade partners exist on a perfectly “level playing field”
Four Ticking Global Time-Bombs Few Even Hear
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/19/2015 09:25 -0500The geopolitical and financial risks facing the global economy are well-known. Hot wars and currency meltdowns garner headlines around the world. But few even hear, much less discuss, four ticking global time-bombs
