US National Insecurity: The Art Of Blaming Russia (For Everything)
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/24/2015 21:30 -0500In American politics the nation of Russia, especially as personified in its leader Vladimir Putin, becomes all things to all men. To American leftists, Russia is a neo-fascist, violently nationalist country that ruthlessly suppressed minority groups, especially homosexuals. To the American Right, Putin is the second coming of Stalin who is working to subvert good old-fashioned American values around the world.

A “credible threat” has been lodged against New York City, days ahead of Christmas and during an especially busy time of the year when tourists flock to the Big Apple, law enforcement sources told PIX11 News Tuesday.

Whistleblower Exposes Exactly How The Government Spies On Your Cell Phone
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/21/2015 17:30 -0500A new whistleblower has leaked a catalog of cell phone surveillance devices used by the military, intelligence agencies, and local police departments, including the controversial ‘Stingray’ spying tool. At this point, it’s painfully obvious that America is the home of the Police-Surveillance State. Privacy is a dying notion in a nation of fools determined to be safe rather than liberated. If you give a damn, now is the time to stand up and be heard.
CISA Is Now The Law: How Congress Quietly Passed The Second Patriot Act
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/18/2015 21:49 -0500Update: CISA is now the law: OBAMA SIGNS SPENDING, TAX BILL THAT REPEALS OIL EXPORT BAN
"They’re kind of pulling a Patriot Act." When Obama signs the $1.1 trillion Spending Bill in a few hours, as he will, it will be official: the second Patriot Act will become the law, and with it what little online privacy US citizens may have had, will be gone.
Yet Again, The Media Got The Facts Wrong About The San Bernardino Attacks
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/18/2015 18:30 -0500On Wednesday, the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigations said the agency has no evidence the married couple accused of killing 14 people in San Bernardino, California earlier this month had any connection to an active terror cell. This admission from the FBI directly contradicts media reports that immediately claimed the San Bernardino shooters were linked to Daesh (ISIS) via social media.

US Defense Secretary Used Private E-Mail To Conduct Government Business For Months
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/17/2015 14:50 -0500“After reviewing his email practices earlier this year, the secretary believes that his previous, occasional use of personal email for work-related business, even for routine administrative issues and backed up to his official account, was a mistake."
Denmark To Confiscate Gold, Jewelry, & Valuables From Refugees
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/15/2015 17:00 -0500Danish border guards may confiscate gold, jewelry, diamonds, and other valuables from refugees as they enter the country (though wedding rings are now off limits). The Danish government’s excuse is that they need to confiscate assets from refugees in order to pay for the services they’re providing to those same refugees. Having armed men indiscriminately seize refugees’ personal belongings doesn’t strike me as the best representation of a free society. Not that this matters anymore.
Ron Paul: "If You Want Security, Pursue Liberty"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/14/2015 20:00 -0500Judging by his prime-time speech last week, the final year of Barack Obama’s presidency will be marked by increased militarism abroad and authoritarianism at home. The centerpiece of the president’s speech was his demand for a new law forbidding anyone on the federal government’s terrorist watch list from purchasing a firearm. There has never been a mass shooter who was on the terrorist watch list, so this proposal will not increase security. However, it will decrease liberty.
White House Unable To Explain How Gun Control Will Stop Mass Shootings
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/11/2015 21:00 -0500As President Obama prepares executive action to pass further gun control legislation, one errant reporter dared to ask the White House press secretary exactly how such proposals would have prevented any recent mass shootings. The response was... as expected.
