The Federal Reserve Will Hand Out $11 Billion In Riskless "Profits" To Foreign Banks In 2016
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/21/2015 11:55 -0500So there you have it: a riskless "profit" handout for foreign banks, subsidized by the most famous US "public" institution - the Federal Reserves - amounting to approximately $11 billion in just one year.
Gold & Silver Prices Will Surge On Fundamentals Not Technical Analysis
Submitted by Sprott Money on 12/21/2015 09:32 -0500I would imagine any ancient Roman wise enough to make this same prediction back before the Empire collapsed as the great city fell from a population of one million down to 12,000, would have sounded like a real KOOK.
"This Is Not Normalizing... And No, We Don't Have Any Precedent"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/20/2015 21:30 -0500"The key to understand the situation here is that this is not normalizing, and we don’t have a precedent. We really don’t. We’re kind of all being soothed and reassured by the Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg and the financial authorities that we’ve been down this path before, we’ve been down it many times, more often than not we’ve had rising markets as a result and, really, there’s nothing to worry about. The issue with that is there are many things this time that are entirely different..."
The Great Disconnect Is Palpable
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/20/2015 20:25 -0500Taken together with the rather steep drop in US industrial production, the risks of a full-blown and perhaps severe recession have undoubtedly grown. Unlike what the FOMC is trying to project via the federal funds rate, a rate that isn’t being fully complemented, either, at this point, visible economic risk is not just rising it is exploding.
Obama Abruptly Waives 1980 Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/20/2015 20:03 -0500FIRPTA was implemented during a better era for Americans in response to international investors in the late 1980s and early 1990s buying U.S. farmland, as well as the more publicly visible buying of trophy U.S. property by the Japanese. The US government has now expediently waived FIRPTA.
The Fed Has Delivered Far More Than Just A Lump Of Coal This Time
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/20/2015 16:55 -0500The problem with all of this is that it’s now becoming apparent to everyone. The amount of mal-investment along with just how intertwined all the subsequent carry trades and more is becoming frightfully obvious and can no longer be hidden from view. The real problem now facing the Fed. which I believe they themselves did not fully comprehend was the extent in which all of this was: so blatantly obvious. Again: to anyone who truly wanted to look. Without the Fed’s interventionism – there is (and was) no market. And now with the raising of rates; no one will be able to miss or avoid that fact any longer. No matter how hard they try.
Market Figures Out Fed No Longer Has Its Back
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/20/2015 15:45 -0500The Fed is now - for the first time in adult memory for half the world’s traders and money managers - tightening rather than loosening monetary conditions. A quick look at financial history is all it takes to lead anyone with leveraged money at risk to lighten up. Equally important - and vastly more strange when you think about it - this tightening comes at a time when major parts of the global economy are either grinding to a halt or imploding.
An Xmas Message From Satan - "Ignorance, My Poor Dear Americans, Will Not Save You"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/20/2015 14:35 -0500"My minions in the Federal Reserve - such loyal servants! - continue feeding an orgy of leverage and debt, spreading ruination under the false guise of prosperity. What a delicious irony, that the fools doomed to eternal damnation in my Empire believe themselves prosperous as they absorb the poison of exponentially rising leverage and debt."
Wait A Minute... Why Is The Fed Continuing QE?
Submitted by Secular Investor on 12/20/2015 08:31 -0500So, everything is going great in the US economy, uh?!
$20,000 Gold And The End Of "Pollyanna-ish Do-Goodery"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/19/2015 21:45 -0500"They just won't let the scales balance... it is a rampant narcissistic megalomania that somehow some guy in a air-conditioned office can best repliacte the free market and centrally plan our affairs... Their starry-eyed pollyanna-ish do-goodery never seems to pan out."

5 Key Charts Show Rising Interest Rates Good For Gold Bullion
Submitted by GoldCore on 12/19/2015 11:57 -0500In the short term, increases in interest rates can be negative for gold. But, in the medium to long term rising interest rates are positive for gold as they were in the 1970s and the 2003 to 2006 period.
Central Banks Are Rapidly Running Out of Options
Submitted by Phoenix Capital Research on 12/19/2015 11:40 -0500What happens the next time global GDP takes a nosedive when Central Banks have already used up all of their ammunition?
The Fed Rate Hike: the Torpedo is Launched
Submitted by Sprott Money on 12/19/2015 05:59 -0500One would think that the Criminals, themselves, would not have the audacity to use the same Script (with just minor plot variations) every eight years. But here we go, again.
Peter Schiff: "Mission Accomplished"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/18/2015 20:29 -0500"The new rounds of rate cutting and Quantitative Easing that the Fed will have to unleash will echo the military "surge" in Iraq in 2007. Those fresh troops were needed to roll back the chaos that the Administration had ignored for so long. But just as that surge only bought us a few years of relative calm, look for the gains brought about by our next monetary surge to be even more transitory. That is a development for which virtually no one on Wall Street is preparing."
