Decapitated Head Found Pinned To Gate in French "Terrorist Attack"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 06/26/2015 06:03 -0500Six months after the massacre at Charlie Hebdo that left 12 dead in Paris, France was hit by what officials are calling a terrorist attack on Friday. According to multiple reports, two men drove a car into the entrance of an Air Products factory in southeastern France triggering multiple explosions. A decapitated head covered in Arabic writing was pinned to the factory’s gate.
"Angry And Embarrassed" France Calls US Spying "Unacceptable", Demands US "Repair Damaged Relations"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 06/24/2015 10:07 -0500Angry and embarrassed, France summoned the U.S. ambassador Wednesday to respond to the revelations by WikiLeaks that the U.S. National Security Agency eavesdropped on three successive French presidents and other top officials. Prime Minister Manuel Valls said the U.S. must do everything it can, and quickly, to "repair the damage" to U.S.-French relations from the revelations, which he called "a very serious violation of the spirit of trust" between the allies. "If the fact of the revelations today does not constitute a real surprise for anyone, that in no way lessens the emotion and the anger. They are legitimate. France will not tolerate any action threatening its security and fundamental interests."
Russia Slams Extension Of European Sanctions; Pentagon Warns Of "Nuclear Saber-Rattling"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 06/22/2015 18:40 -0500Over the past several months, tensions between Russia and the West have escalated meaningfully. While it’s certainly true that, since Crimea, US-Russia relations have deteriorated steadily (baskets of potatoes notwithstanding), recent events suggests the situation may come to a head more quickly than either side cares to admit. In the latest provocation, Europe has extended economic sanctions against Moscow for another six months or, until the Kremlin agrees to abide by the terms of the Minsk agreement which Europe, on the word of Kiev, assumes Moscow is violating. Meanwhile, US Secretary of Defense Ash Carter blasts Russian "nuclear saber rattling."
12 Signs That The United States And China Are Moving Toward War
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 06/22/2015 17:20 -0500If the United States and China are supposed to be such “great friends”, why are both sides acting as if war is in our future? There were years of diplomatic troubles before Japan finally made the decision to launch a “surprise” attack on Pearl Harbor. Right now, it appears we are moving into a similar period of diplomatic trouble with China.
Greece Told To Have A Deal Ready Before Monday Meeting; Tsipras Submits Revised Plan With No Pension Cuts
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 06/21/2015 19:25 -0500With just under 24 hours until Monday's final summit after which even JPMorgan now agrees the ECB will be forced to use a nuclear option and limit or cut Greek ELA thus imposing capital controls as a "negotiating tactic", earlier today both France and Germany told Greece it must have a reform deal agreement with the Troika finalized and delivered before a crucial leaders’ summit between Athens and its creditors on Monday; in other words before trading opens on Monday.

As we move toward the second half of 2015, signs of financial turmoil are appearing all over the globe. Slowly but surely, we are starting to see the smart money head for the exits. As one Swedish fund manager put it recently, everyone wants “to avoid being caught on the wrong side of markets once the herd realizes stocks are over-valued“.
Alexis Tsipras' Open Letter To The Germans: "Duty Rests On All Our Shoulders"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 06/19/2015 12:38 -0500As so often, Mr. Tsipras makes a number of fair points. However, it seems to us that everybody is skirting the main issues. Greece cannot become a “socialist Utopia”, unless its citizens are happy with being condemned to a hand-to-mouth existence for a long, long time indeed. Whether or not Greece defaults, the one thing the government will be unable to fund is the very socialism that is its basic ideology.

All those saying the Fed will never be able to raise rate are looking particularly smug this morning, because if the market needed a green light that despite all the constant posturing, pomp and rhetoric, the US economy is simply (never) ready for a rate hike, it got it late last night when Goldman is pushing back its forecast for the first Fed rate hike from September to December 2015 saying that "in large part this reflects the fact that seven FOMC participants are now projecting zero or one rate hike this year, a group that we believe includes Fed Chair Janet Yellen. We had viewed a clear signal for a September hike at the June meeting as close to a necessary condition for the FOMC to actually hike in September, but the committee did not lay that groundwork today."

Futures Rebound As Yellen's Market-Lifting Track Record Offsets Greek Gloom
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 06/17/2015 05:52 -0500With the Fed's June FOMC statement in just over 7 hours and a Yellen press conference to follow shortly, one in which nobody expects the Fed will announces its first rate-hiking cycle in nine years despite repeated clues by Yellen that not only is there froth in the market but that the Fed has no dry powder to contain the next crisis when it emerges (even though a rate hike will catalyze the next crisis), traders have chosen to ignore the chatter from Greece which is getting worse by the hour, and unlike recent days, have bought risk overnight based on one simple technical: of the five press conferences in ten Fed meetings held by Yellen as Chairman, the S&P finished higher 80% of the time.
"Lehman Weekend" Looms For Greece As Europe Readies "Emergency" Sunday Meeting
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 06/16/2015 19:52 -0500European leaders may convene an emergency summit this Sunday to decide Greece's fate as Varoufakis says no new proposal from Athens will be tabled at Thursday's meeting of EU finance ministers. With capital controls now imminent, and with Greece reportedly set to delay a June 30 IMF payment, a "Lehman Weekend" looms.
Disgraced Rachel Dolezal Breaks Silence In Interview, Says "I Identify As Black"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 06/16/2015 08:00 -0500In a unicorn-esque moment, when asked "are you an African-American woman?" the former NAACP official Rachel Dolezal told The Today Show's Matt Lauer, "I identify as black." As NPR notes, the topic of Dolezal's race has prompted surprise, bewilderment and speculation since her parents said that contrary to their estranged daughter's claims of being of mixed race, Rachel Dolezal is white.
