Christmas 2015: Will Syria & Iraq Become Washington's Stalingrad?
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/22/2015 22:35 -0500"I hope I'm wrong but I fear Washington is trying to provoke a war in the Middle East to cover the coming collapse of the Petrodollar system and the American economy when the dollar is no longer the world reserve currency. The war is necessary to blame the coming dollar and debt collapse on Russia and China rather where it belongs on Wall Street, the central banking cartel and Washington political establishment. Remember while a Washington provoked war or conflict is likely to start in the Shia Crescent; it could spread across the Middle East and into Europe."
Something Crazy Is Going On In Swedish Money Markets
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/22/2015 09:54 -0500It appears Swedish banks are falling over themselves to get rid of excess cash. We noted Swedish banks refusing to open bank accounts in September, and warned in October of a "giant wave of money" heading into Sweden thanks to the Riksbank-ECB policy divergence, and now, Swedish banks are paying each other to take cash off their balance sheets into year-end, as 1-week STIBOR crashes to -1.792%.

There's No Upside Left
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/16/2015 12:05 -0500The upside is ephemeral, illusory or wishful thinking; the downside is real and lasting.
Sweden Is In Shambles, Police Warn "Evil People Know What To Do When They Come Here"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/13/2015 11:50 -0500"The truth is that persons with evil intent know exactly what to do when they come here. That information spreads like wildfire. These new border controls are there for the sole purpose of reassuring the public. They have absolutely no effect on the influx of migrants."
FT Bombshell: EU Unveils Standing Border Force That Will Act "Even If A Government Objects"

A tale of two home invasions
Submitted by hedgeless_horseman on 12/09/2015 12:53 -0500We all need to work together to create an environment that is hostile to bad guys. We don't need more gun-free zones like San Bernadino...
Draghi's Currency War Ceasefire Faces Test As Sweden, Switzerland, Norway Take Aim
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/09/2015 12:23 -0500“I don’t think we’ve seen the last of this trend. When I trained as an economist, negative rates weren’t in the textbooks. But that’s the world we live in now, and it hasn’t stopped turning."

Declassified CIA Manual Shows How US Uses Bureaucracy to Destabilize Governments
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/08/2015 20:50 -0500When most people think of CIA sabotage, they think of coups, assassinations, proxy wars, armed rebel groups, and even false flags - not strategic stupidity and purposeful bureaucratic ineptitude. However, according to a declassified document from 1944, the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), which later became the CIA, used and trained a curious breed of “citizen-saboteurs” in occupied nations like Norway and France.
This Is Why $20 Oil Is A Possibility
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/08/2015 10:21 -0500The day of reckoning has arrived for the oil price. After a year of "Oil Price Crash" in October the world managed record production of 97.09 Mbpd. Production momentum built in the period of high price, 2007 to 2014, is proving very difficult to switch off. It must be switched off and it seems to me the most likely scenario is sharply lower oil price in the near term.

The very first major economic collapse in recorded history occurred in 218-202 BC when the Roman Empire experienced money troubles after the Second Punic War. As a result, bronze and silver currencies were devalued. As HowMuch.net depicts in the video below economic collapses date back thousands of years. While many countries today still feel the effects of the most recent Global Financial Crisis, it is important to note that economic troubles are not unique to the present-day, but rather date back to some of the oldest civilizations.
Turkey's Geopolitical Value
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/02/2015 19:56 -0500Turkey is the next key region in this conflict, since the only alternative gas pipeline that supplies Russia, and comes from Asia (Nabucco), passes through Turkey. Future conflicts between Turkey and Russia will be part of the Russian strategy within the region.
World's Largest Pension Fund Suffers $64 Billion Loss After Doubling Down On Stocks
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 11/30/2015 07:37 -0500Late last year, Japanese PM Shinzo Abe effectively forced the $1.1 trillion Government Pension Investment Fund to double its domestic equity allocation. With Kuroda providing perpetual Nikkei plunge protection, and with Abenomics set to bring about an economic renaissance, what could possibly go wrong?...
