St. Louis Prepares For "Catastrophic Event" As Underground Fire Nears Nuclear Waste Cache
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/07/2015 21:00 -0500Beneath the surface of a St. Louis-area landfill lurk two things that should never meet: a slow-burning fire and a cache of Cold War-era nuclear waste, separated by no more than 1,200 feet. As AP reports, government officials have quietly adopted an emergency plan in case the smoldering embers ever reach the waste, a potentially “catastrophic event” that could send up a plume of radioactive smoke over a densely populated area near the city’s main airport.

The Worst Nuclear Disaster In US History That You’ve Never Heard About
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/29/2015 12:06 -0500The United States government deliberately hid “the worst nuclear disaster in U.S. history,” according to experts and an in-depth investigation by NBC4 Southern California. Whistleblowers have also come forward to expose the little-known catastrophe, which occurred north of Los Angeles in 1959 and leaked over 300 times the allowable amount of radiation into surrounding neighborhoods. That contamination is now linked to up to a 60% increase in cancer in the area, but the government still refuses to acknowledge its colossal mistake.
North Korea Restarts Nuclear Complex, May Nuke US "At Any Time" For "Mischievous Behavior"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/15/2015 10:05 -0500"If the U.S. and other hostile forces persistently seek their reckless hostile policy towards the DPRK and behave mischievously, the DPRK is fully ready to cope with them with nuclear weapons any time.”
Iran Says It Finds "Unexpectedly High Uranium Reserve"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/13/2015 12:11 -0500While we await for thr Russian secret service to leak photos of Iran's Revolutionary Guard in Syria, thereby stirring the pot on the latest and greatest proxy war in the middle east, one which would promptly disintegrate any last remaining shred of "victory" from Obama's alleged coup in restoring relations with an Iran, which couldn't even wait for the signing of the "Nuclear" deal before turning its back on Obama and siding with Putin in Syria, we were particularly amused to learn that just yesterday Iran announced it has discovered an unexpectedly high reserve of uranium and will soon begin extracting the radioactive element at a new mine.
Visualizing China's Mind-Boggling Consumption Of The World's Raw Materials
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/11/2015 20:15 -0500Over the last 20 years, the world economy has relied on the Chinese economic growth engine more than it would like to admit. The 1.4 billion people living in the world’s most populous country account for 13% of global GDP, which is significant no matter how it is interpreted. However, in the commodity sector, China has another magnitude of importance. The fact is that China consumes mind-bending amounts of materials, energy, and food. That’s why the prospect of slowing Chinese growth is likely to continue as a source of nightmares for investors focused on the commodity sector.
Pentagon’s New “Law of War” Manual “Reduces Us to the Level of Nazis”

Is The New U.S. 'Law Of War Manual' Actually ‘Hitlerian'?
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 08/18/2015 18:58 -0500What seems undeniable about the Law of War Manual, is that there are self-contradictions within it. To assert that it "reads like it was written by Hitler's Ministry of War,” is going too far. But, to say that it’s hypocritical (except, perhaps, on torture, where it’s clearly a repudiation of GWB’s practices), seems safely true. Parts of the document are propaganda. The purpose isn’t to fool the public, who won’t read the document. The purpose of the propaganda is to enable future presidents to say, “But if you will look at this part of the Manual, you will see that what we are doing is perfectly legal.” Those mutually contradictory passages are there in order to provide answers which will satisfy both the ‘hawks’ and the ‘doves.’
Savannah River Nuclear Facility Under Lockdown Amid "Security Event"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 08/17/2015 15:17 -0500According to the Savannah River site, a potential security threat is in progress that has caused emergency response. SRS says site barricades are closed to incoming traffic. SRS is the only hardened chemical separations facility still operating in the U.S. The primary mission of the H-Canyon Complex is to dissolve, purify and blend-down surplus highly enriched uranium from both within American borders and materials that come from other countries.

In Blow To Obama's Iran Deal Hopes, Key Democrat Defects
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 08/07/2015 06:40 -0500GOP Presidential hopefuls expressed plenty of distaste for the Iran nuclear deal during last night’s debate, but it was the voice of a Democrat that mattered most on Thursday evening as Chuck Schumer, the influential Jewish Senator from New York, came out in opposition to the accord.

How Monsanto, Exxon Mobil, & Microsoft Lobbyists Are Bundling Funds For Hillary
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 07/23/2015 20:15 -0500The pantsuit revolutionary is at it again. Once again demonstrating her populist chops by employing the services of lobbyists to bundle millions in campaign funds. It’s no wonder opinion polls on her have been plunging as of late.
Historic Iran Nuke Deal Resets Eurasia's "Great Game"
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 07/18/2015 21:00 -0500This is it. It is indeed historic. And diplomacy eventually wins. In terms of the New Great Game in Eurasia, and the ongoing tectonic shifts reorganizing Eurasia, this is huge: Iran — supported by Russia and China — has finally, successfully, called the long, winding 12-year-long Atlanticist bluff on its “nuclear weapons.” And this only happened because the Obama administration needed 1) a lone foreign policy success, and 2) a go at trying to influence at least laterally the onset of the new Eurasia-centered geopolitical order.
World Powers Reach Landmark Nuclear Deal With Iran, Oil Slides - Full Deal Text
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 07/14/2015 05:37 -0500It is only fitting that almost exactly 24 hours after the Greek "pre-deal", which may and will end up crashing and burning in very short notice, another long expected "deal", one which has been about a decade in the making, was reached, when Iran reached a landmark nuclear agreement with the U.S. and five other world powers, a long-sought foreign policy goal of the Obama administration. However, just like with the Greek deal celebrations, these too will likely be short lived as the outcome sets the White House on course for months of political strife with dissenters in Congress and in allied Middle Eastern nations.
