Cold War 2.0 Has Begun … In Syria

George Washington's picture

We noted in February:

The U.S. is supporting the Syrian opposition (and see this), considering military options for ousting the Syrian government, American allies Britain and Qatar allegedly already have foreign troops inside Syria, and the U.S. has been planning regime change in Syria for over 50 years.

Indeed, the United States is fighting on the same side as 3 terrorist groups in Syria.

Even Pat Buchanan asks:

If its good for Al Qaeda, can it be good for us?

Indeed, terrorist rebels have been responsible for much of the violence inside Syria. And outside monitors have confirmed that the situation on the ground is much different than it is being portrayed in the Western media. (And according to the large German newspaper FAZ, those recently massacred in Hama were on the same side as Syrian leader Assad).

Russia has repeatedly stated that it would consider an attack on Syria as an attack on its national security. (And Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that if the U.S. invades the sovereignty of countries like Syria, it could lead to nuclear war.   And see this.)

Now, Russia is selling attack helicopters to the Syrian government, and defending the sales because the U.S. is supplying rebels with weapons to fight against the government.

Cold War 2.0.  And this time, China may participate.

Of course, Iran and Syria have had a mutual defense pact for years. So war in Syria could well drag Iran into a hot war.

Make that Fukushima please.

I still stand by what I said last year. A few weeks of radioactive fall out is easier to bear than a ongoing infectious sore that now threatens the very Nation that built the thing.

Why not just load up all the spent fuel rods into a fleet of C5As and drop them across the entire northern hemisphere? That would accomplish the same thing.

A nuclear bomb won't blast a fresh, clean environment into Japan. A nuclear explosion won't magically "burn up" the radioactive waste at Fukushima. All it will do is turn it into dust-sized particles while propelling it into the stratosphere, allowing it to blanket the planet with radioactivity.

I'm not sure what you mean by "a few weeks of radioactive fallout" being easy to bear. The hundreds of tons of radioactive dust gradually falling to the ground would be mostly Cesium-137 and Strontium-90, each with a half life of around 30 years. The air, soil, and water would be poisoned for several hundred years, so your estimate of a few weeks is off by several orders of magnitude.

the blood drinking indonesian citizen and his sidekick hitlery are hellbound to topple another regime in its quest for world dominion....blood and oil, blood and oil, go together like a horse and carriage, satan was told by soetoro, you can't have one without the other

the usa and its paranoid redneck cia thugs calculated years ago that the correlation of forces favored the usa for only so long. thus if they were to secure the middle east as their own oil pool, they would have to act now and boldly before the sino-russo alliance could pose a credible counterweight....

there are more lies and treachery emanating from washington than from hitler's bomb shelter...

Aint it grand to be led to our deaths by a bunch of richy rich fucking morons that have the attitude "If I can't have it all no one can"?

Fuck the US gov't. By that I mean fuck the assholes that have hijacked the US and use our $ and power for Operation Global Gobble. They'll have this entire country in complete ruins for this idiotic non-attainable quest.

I had a friend the other day call me a conspiracy theorist because I believed the government was complicit in the 911 attacks. He thinks I'm a fool because and I'm quoting verbatim here......."what could we possibly gain from that!?!?!".

One more false flag and the entire population will fall into line. I guarantee it.

Whatever happened to drive the 9-11 attacks is water under the bridge.

What continues to fascinate me even to this day was how the towers were able to absorb a jet at mach .65 or higher and buy time for those to get out, that were able to.

I have seen the burning pile with my own eyes by night crossing the GW and frankly as far as I am concerned, whatever the US Government deems the enemy, they know best.

Those 19 crazy Arabs and FAA sabotage (deciding not to lock the cokpits after the Christmas 1994 suicide-hijacking of Air France 8969) don't count as a war. Not by a long shot. Calling it a war was useful to allow Dick Cheney and his gang to plunder the Treasury.

Look at Russian History since the collapse.

Notice where they stand today, stronger and better geopolitically positioned.

It's going to come down to this Moscow "P5 +1" meeting, in which Moscow is insisting Iran must be present and a part of the meeting, or else there is no point to having it.

i.e. this is the diplomatic option, before a proxy-war clash occurs between the giant powers (and keep in mind, this includes China).

Iran must be included mind you ... not Syria.

Russia is identifying Iran as belonging to another power class, not a giant power, but a big power, that's in a unique position to do unimaginable damage to every other power.

The big-power subtext of this demanded inclusion of Iran is that this is a crisis meeting between the worlds largest military powers, and Germany is coming to sit in on it and contribute, for it is also a big power (and clearly capable of nuclear-arms), ... and ... now ... also ... Iran must be included.

Russia is thus saying to all these other big powers;

"Hey, face it, Iran is becoming one of us.  Now let's talk about this in a civilised intelligent way, and avoid a devastating war between big power's and proxies."

And Washington, London and Paris really don't want to hear this or face up to this reality.

They want to bomb Iran .... so damn bad.

Russia is thus implicitly warning them all that if you do -- it's going to be ON -- really ON!

Syria is just one proxy element in this 'discussion', it is not in fact the primary or driving reason for the meeting.

It is only natural that Moscow will increase readiness of rapid deployment forces, in case a proxy battle is insufficent and direct intervention by a giant power backed by tactical nukes becomes necessary to settle it.

As they already said, this could lead even to a nuclear exchange.  It would be very unwise to think they don't mean it.  It may take five years for that to occur, that is what they are saying.

Damascus is not going to be permitted to be overthrown by a western-backed and trained rabble.

A Hot war with Syria/Iran will be the final call when you know it's time to head for the mountains, but you need to be prepared and have plans before that happens, it's just going to be time to act, liquidate everything you can liquidate, fill up your non-perishable stockpile to the max, get all your matters in order and be ready to go at a moment's notice, that does not mean you actually need to travel or run if you have a (fallout)bunker in your backyard that will do to :)

I vividly remember 1989 when everyone breathed a huge sigh of relief that the world probably wasn't going to blow itself up after all.  When the US had deployed Perishing II missiles to central Europe with a 5-minute warning window before they hit Moscow.  And we wonder why they will not just shut the fuck up while the west builds an anti-nuclear ballistic missile shield right beside their Western border? (i.e. their western-front)

We're right back to square-1 now, because the military industrialists are calling the shots when defining the 'threat'.

Take a step back and look at it.

It is these 'threat' and 'security' definers who are our mutual threat.

It is their lies, distortions, myths and warping of international relations and public discourse that constitutes our predominant mortal 'strategic' threat right now.

Dealing with that is how and where any new cold-war is going to be defused.

After the torch-light red on sweaty faces

After the frosty silence in the gardens

After the agony in stony places

Of thunder of spring over distant mountains

He who was living is now dead

We who were living are now dying

Dude, both sides need armed and require "advisors".

Where do you think each is getting support?

Pick a side in Syria and discover who is most likely a supply line.

And remember that intelligence agencies play both sides for various reasons, including maintaining on the ground intelligence rescources and creating potential situations which can be manipulated for the media.

None of it is clear cut.

THAT is the problem. WE really don't know what's going on ANYWHERE. We only know what the blatantly and repeatedly proven dishonest "News Media" tells us. So we just choose an agency we agree with to fit our world view.

This article made me think of the recent "sabre rattling" between Israel and Iran. Their logic is, Israel should strike Iran BEFORE Iran has the capability to strike Israel.....because it definitely WILL strike Israel.

Everyones "end-game" scenario to this financial Armageddon is war. Tiny players in Syria, street gangs, basically, each being backed by the worlds greatest military powers. One would suggest a war involving the USA, Russia, and China would be ill- advised. But war somehow has the ability to "correct" certain financil inequalities. (The method of which we are ALSO unaware of.)

So I'm thinking, we don't owe Russia or China any money, do we ??? LOL
