Sigtarp: “Americans Should Lose Faith In Their Government ... Only With This Appropriate and Justified Rage Can We Hope

George Washington's picture

The Special Inspector General for Tarp Issues a Wakeup Call … Lambasts the Government and the Banks

The government’s special inspector general in charge of oversight of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (the “TARP” bank bailouts) – Neil M. Barofsky – wrote a stunning editorial for Bloomberg yesterday, concluding:

Americans should lose faith in their government. They should deplore the captured politicians and regulators who distributed tax dollars to the banks without insisting that they be accountable. The American people should be revolted by a financial system that rewards failure and protects those who drove it to the point of collapse and will undoubtedly do so again.

Only with this appropriate and justified rage can we hope for the type of reform that will one day break our system free from the corrupting grasp of the megabanks.

See this for background.

This is not the statement of a raving blogger (although some of the best reporters write blogs) or a conspiracy theorist living in his mom’s basement (even though some conspiracies are real).

This is the former government official who oversaw the bailouts.

At last, Neil M. Barofsky, a patriot!

Riot is protest. The last form of resistance is revolution. There’s discussion, dissension, then protest, then riots, then revolution.

And while Patrick Henry was speaking others were saying, it’s crazy to speak like that and name names. And Henry proclaimed:  “If this be treason, make the most of it.”

“In the spring of 1765, the recently enacted Stamp Act was the prime topic of political conversation in the American colonies. In Virginia, the current session of the House of Burgesses was drawing to a close and many of the delegates had already headed for home. Patrick Henry, who had held his seat for only a matter of days, celebrated his twenty-ninth birthday on May 29 by offering a series of resolutions related to the current crisis.

“On May 30, Patrick Henry gave his maiden speech in the assembly and defended his resolutions. He expanded the scope of his criticism to include not only Parliament, but the king as well. Speaking of George III, he stated that ‘Caesar had his Brutus, Charles the First his Cromwell and George the Third — .’ At that point he was interrupted by cries of “Treason!” from delegates who easily recognized the reference to assassinated leaders. Henry paused briefly, then calmly finished his sentence: ‘...may profit by their example. If this be treason, make the most of it.’”

I wouldn't read too much into the virtue of this man.

Many a scumbag insider, who believes the gig is up, switches teams early on to create the appearance of being different than those who they once called brother. They do so in hopes of avoiding the gallows.

There's a reason why, throughout history, when revolutions come it is not uncommon for virtually all the "management" and "leadership" of government, down to the village level, to be taken out and shot by the people. Not an occupying army, the people.

This is also why so many politicians want gun control. They arent afraid some CO type evil befalling you, your children, or anyone else. They are afraid of people eventually becoming so tired of being fiscally raped they rise up with vengeance.

Back to the point. These machines require active support by key players from the bottom up. As well as the silent support of many, many people in the system who later claim such things as "it wasn't part of my responsibility", "I don't know for certain, I was never told directly", etc., etc.

Mr. Barofsky did rise to that position, or make the "nest-egg" he hopes to get out of town with, by being an ignorant stooge or blind to what goes on in that cesspool called DC.

To me, Barofsky's simply in CYA mode.

That said, the beauty of a cabal of snakes & scumbags is once they begin to turn on each other you get a great show that removes all doubt they are all birds of a feather.

Any time you throw your weight behind a political party that controls two-thirds of the government, and that party can't keep the promise that it made to you during election-time, and you're dumb enough to walk around continuing to identify yourself with that party, you're not only a chump but you're a traitor to your race.

So it's the, it's the ballot or the bullet. Today, our people can see that we're faced with a government conspiracy. This government has failed us. The senators who are filibustering concerning your and my rights, that's the government. Don't say it's southern senators, this is the government. This is a government filibuster. It's not a segregationist filibuster, it's a government filibuster. Any kind of activity that takes place on the floor of the Congress or the Senate, that's the government. Any kind of dilly-dallying, that's the government. Any kind of pussy-footing, that's the government. Any kind of act that's designed to delay or deprive you and me, right now, of getting full rights, that's the government that's responsible. And anytime you find the government involved in a conspiracy to violate the citizenship or the civil rights of a people in 1964, then you are wasting your time going to that government expecting redress. Instead you have to take that government to the world court and accuse it of genocide and all of the other crimes that it is guilty of today.

All fiat money is debt money. Even if you repay all the debt you still owe the interest.

Fiat money therefore isnt green. It creates more CO2 than gold and silver, because users of fiat continually need to extract more resources to pay interest than if they did not have the interest burden.

The problem with us little people is that we think our representatives should work for us for free. At least their big donors realize they have to pay to get service. Therefore, I propose a new lobbying organization called "We the People". Hi GW,

I love your posts and notice you post on AJ's site.  having listened to him on and off over the years I wonder if he is just controlled opposition, or a useless idiot.  A place where people can go and listen to how more and more TPTB have gained even more control and then hear AJ say we are winning, yeh we will stop you, blah blah.

So my question and many you can do a post on this and put it on his site too.  What is AJ's line in the sand.....what more do they have to to do?  and what will he do besides talk about it?  For that matter maybe you could ask what is RP's line is the sand?  how about you?  Is it not time we started asking this question?  Something tells me AJ is full of BS and RP was a way to funnel off a lot of great energy.  Think about it what did RP do?  Yeh he talks a lot, and maybe some woke up because of his talking, but how many woke up independent of RP and then wasted energy putting theirs behind him?

Why did RP never file suite on all the unconstitutional activity of govt.  he wasted no time yapping about it on TV, but why not go to SCOTUS.  Yeh he might have lost, but it sure would have made the issues go mainstream.  How about the voter fraud and so on while he was running for POTUS.  Even Maddow documented it.  Di RP file suite, demand criminal charges be pressed by the police against those committing it and beating up his staff.  Not a bloody word.  I could go on, but why bother.  But maybe it is time to ask some of the gatekeepers who are in the vanguard of the so called "infowars"  what is their line in the sane?

AJ often takes items out of context or misleads readers; that is to his detriment.

Is he generally right about Mordor? I think so.

However, he published yesterday a story on the Anaheim riots castigating the police and denied some of the statements they made. Iwent to the various CA media outlets and found some of his claims were 100% false.

I was not there; but it appears the police overreacted.

One statement he made was that nobody could confirm fires were being set. I saw 2 videos of burning dumpsters. AJ could have spent two minutes and found the same vids I did.

If you are going to report on Conspiracy, you had better have Facts.

If AJ would get off the sensationalism, you could take more of what he says to the bank.

Things will only change when enough people wake up and take serious issue with the looting of wealth and suppression of liberty.  Right now, the trend in people figuring this out is up and gaining.  Like they say in guerilla armies, 'When the trend is your friend, why get shot just yet?'

We're headed for a major train wreck.  I can feel the wheels picking up speed.  The election is the catalyst.

Get out of the way.  Watch the crash.  As the dust is settling many bewildered people will be looking for answers.  The PTB will have a program to spin this, of course, but their credibility will be at an all time low.  Is this a window of opportunity to bring back Constitutional government?

What is the crash?  For some people, it is losing their job, others, their pension, their home.  People have sold their ethics for material gain.  When the last kick explodes the can instead of moves it and juice stops flowing people are going to be pissed-off because they was had.

Any grass-roots drama before the crash will not find traction.  After the crash, people's minds will be more open.  What does Sun Tzu say about the time and place?

Usually, all sorts of unresolved issues get new vectors around the election.

RP was a big dissapoinment.  Maybe he'll have something to say in Tampa?
