Hi jharry,

Point taken about the value is in the eye of the beholder. However, I would say that value comes from both the buyer and the seller.

You have a pen, and I want/need it. I have a dollar, and you would prefer to have the dollar rather than the pen that you currently have. We make an exchange, the dollar for for the pen, because we both felt we were beneficiaries of a gain in value from the transaction.

Cheers

Don't forget to "give" the government(s) you both are represented by an addition 5-15%(+) for the privilege of striking this deal with one another.  Otherwise you'll both end up in a taxpayer expensed detention center or worse.

Thats extortion but because its the government we will call it taxes. Don't pay extortion to the criminals and you end up dead or beat up. Don't pay taxes end up in Jail and all funds stolen from you for your own good!

NOTA (None of the Above) should be required on ALL ballots.  That would show these slugs how little of a real "mandate" they actually have when they're elected if a large portion of the vote ends up being for NOTA.  Hell, I'd actually go to the trouble of voting again if I could use it to make that kind of statement.  Otherwise, why waste my time "choosing" between oligarchy front man A or B.

That's a good idea, and I also like Jesse Ventura's idea that ballots not have the political party of the candidate written on the ballot.

Fri, 08/03/2012 - 00:49 | 2674904 monad
monad's picture

How about this: ballots should not have the names of the candidates written on them. This way only those who know and can legibly write the name of the candidate count. Don't even list the propositions on the ballot: if you don't know what the issues are, you shouldn't be voting on them. And throw out the age restrictions. If a half dead septegenarian can pretend to be a corrupt governor, preteens who are going to live in his aftermath and can spell should be allowed to vote him out. Give them jury duty too.

TPTB propaganda says if you don't vote you have no right to complain about what the government does.

This is total bullshit - if you vote you have agreed to take part in their corrupt and rigged game.

If you do vote, you have no right to complain.

Don't vote - it spoils their game.

If the turn out for an election was less than, say, 25%, it would be really hard for anyone to claim a mandate.

Voting on any machine without a paper trail is truly insane.

Elections, to quote Mr. Carlin, are there to make you think you have a choice - unfortunately YOU DON'T!

This is the 'logic'...

Did you vote for the guy who actually got in? Well, then, you have to abide by his decisions, you voted for him, didn't you?

Did you vote against the guy who actually got in? Well, then, you expected other people to abide by the decisions of 'your' man if he had gotten in, so you're obliged to abide by the decisions of their man.

You didn't vote? Well, how can you complain if you did nothing to change the outcome of the election?

I'm not sure I agree with this.  I beleive you've actually defined anarchy.  (anarchy= no law and no rules, no time.)

Liberty on the other hand is the ability to live within a statement of laws with no fear of transgressing them.  This is why the fewer the better and why the founding fathers of the US constitution sought to limit the power and authority of (s)elected officials from enacting laws from the beginning.

As you've rightly alluded to, even nature points to the fact humans must adhere to certain laws, if only the most basic as espoused by this site itself, i.e. "On a long enough timeline the survival rate for everyone drops to zero."

Oh, yes...

I especially liked Mitt's trip to Israel and Europe in which he:

  • Licked the boots of his Talmudic masters while bending over, and then almost simultaneously slapped the Palestinians in the face.
  • Vowed to move the US Embassy to Jersualem
  • Declared Jerusalem as the capitol of Israel
  • Re-invigorated Cold War tensions with Russia while in Poland.

Nice work in such a short time.   LOL

First things first, this 2012 voting tabulation was bought by an offshore Corporation, so get a clue. Their people too ya know. I think it was a Spanish based company if memory serves.

Here is some info:

When the Spanish online voting company SCYTL bought the largest vote processing corporation in the United States, it also acquired the means of manufacturing the outcome of the 2012 election. For SOE, the Tampa based corporation purchased by SCYTL in January, supplies the election software which records, counts, and reports the votes of Americans in 26 states–900 total jurisdictions–across the nation.
As the largest election results reporting company in the US, SOE provides reports right down to the precinct level. But before going anywhere else, those election returns are routed to individual, company servers where the people who run them “…get ‘first look’ at results and the ability to immediately and privately examine vote details throughout the USA.” In short, “this redirects results …to a centralized privately held server which is not just for Ohio, but national; not just USA-based, but global.”
And although the votes will be cast in hometown, American precincts on Election Day, with the Barcelona-based SCYTL taking charge of the process, they will be routed and counted overseas.
SCYTL itself is a leader in internet voting technology and in 2010 was involved in modernizing election systems for the midterm election in 14 American states.

Old Royal Navy saying: "the lesser of two weevils."

We know the direction that the current incumbent and associated crowd will be going.  Mitt is too squeeky clean for the normal political processes, let alone the Chicago steroid-enhanced variety.

Mitt has no "Calvin Coolidge" blood evidenced yet, at least publically.  But he did have a scalpel for a) the MA budget (when we were way underwater, and he inverted the situation to our benefit, of course, before the DeValuator was elected) and b) the Salt Lake mess, that he sorted out without mussing his perfect hair.

So I'm calling BULLSHIT on the equivalency arguments.  Play the political snidery all that we all need (and I enjoy it with the better) but there is no valuable equivalency between the two.

After all, Mitt is an overt Capitalist, demonstrable, with all warts.  Colonal House is not in the picture, n'est ce pas?

O'Barry went on a little sojourn through euro-land as well back in 08.

Carefully timed to appear with rock concerts...drunk German kids wildly cheering for someone who didn't speak their language...whats not to love?...great visuals, pure propaganda meant for American audiences, no meat outside of the I'll meet with the guy in the bad disco suit "with no pre-conditions".

Well, we'll see what he meant by that before the election ;-)

Lech Walsea refused to meet O'Barry in 08...but he did meet Mitt last week. Is Lech a Bilderburger?...lol.

http://www.theonion.com/articles/world-leader-wondering-why-he-just-met-with-the-fo,29010/

WARSAW, POLAND—World leader and president of Poland Bronis?aw Komorowski was reportedly puzzled Tuesday as to why he had just met with a man who was apparently the governor of Massachusetts six years ago. "That person currently holds no position of power, so I'm not sure why I would have any sort of high-level talk with him," Komorowski was overheard saying to his advisers, adding that as a head of state with a busy schedule he shouldn’t be taking meetings with just anyone. "Essentially, I just had an hourlong conversation with an unemployed American man." According to sources, when reminded that the individual he had met also ran the Winter Olympics in 2002, Komorowski responded, "Who gives a shit?"

Love da Onion.

Equally bizzare is a Senator (Reid) saying he knows "someone" with access to Mitts personal tax records who is saying he paid NO INCOME TAX for a few years.

Usually, this triggers IRS, FBI, Congressinal investigations and MANY subpoena's to find out how this personal information fell into Reids hands and who gave it to him.

Oh wait...thats not an Onion spoof ;-)
