Bankster Fraud Has Driven 100 Million Into Poverty, Killing Many

George Washington's picture

Fraud caused the Great Depression and the current financial crisis, and the economy will never recover until fraud is prosecuted.

Fraud is the business model adopted by the giant banks. See this.

The Obama administration has made it official policy not to prosecute fraud.  Indeed, the “watchdogs” in D.C. are so corrupt that they are as easily bribed as a policeman in a third world banana republic.

The mouthpieces in Wall Street and D.C.  pretend that financial  fraud (like Libor) is a “victimless crime“.

But the World Bank notes that the financial crisis  – you know, the one caused by financial fraud – has driven between 64 and  100 million people into destitution.

Some estimate the figure to be much higher. For example, one 2009 study estimated that 140 million people would be driven into poverty in Asia alone.

AP reported in 2009:

The global financial crisis has pushed the ranks of the hungry to a record 1 billion people … United Nations food officials said Friday in Rome.

This is not just a matter of having less money for entertainment or luxury goods.  Increased poverty leads to an earlier death.

As the Los Angeles times notes:

Poverty appears to trump smoking, obesity and education as a health burden, potentially causing a loss of 8.2 years of perfect health.

This is not an abstract concept. A lot of kids will die due to Wall Street fraud:

The global financial crisis sweeping through Wall Street and the European banking sector will touch the lives of the world’s most vulnerable, pushing millions into deeper poverty and leading to the deaths of thousands of children, according to a new United Nations study.

***

The report highlighted the prospect of an increase of between 200,000 and 400,000 in infant mortality and that child malnutrition, already rising, will be one of the main drivers of higher child death rates.

While developing countries will be hardest hit, increased poverty and hunger are hitting the U.S., Britain and other first world countries are as well. The inability of the newly-poor to pay to heat their homes also kills.

Paul Moore – former Head of Risk at HBOS – says that the financial crisis has resulted in the greatest humanitarian crisis since WWII.

Moore says that we are witnessing a “financial holocaust” brought on by the banksters … with huge numbers of potential deaths in the works unless we fundamentally change the system.

don't blame it on dumb if it is really just plain ol corrupt.  Dumb people I can forgive easily, corrupt ... not until they pay up for their crimes...which doesn't apparently happen to totally corrupt politicians in the US

Obama constantly harranguing about how he is the protector of the middle class while allowing the banksters and Bernanke to destroy the middle class. And the sheeple eat it up because he talks so pretty. Meanwhile he plays golf with Robert Wolf. One hopes some errant golfer with the acumen of Gerald Ford could slice one off and hit this prick right between the eyes

Curious, this "holocaust" is brought on by the descendants of Hitler's holocaust. How are the victims of such cruelty capable of such greed, avarice and lack of conscience for others ?.. Revenge ?.

By the way, The Holocaust, as portrayed by Hollywood and revisionist historians, didn't happen.

GW’s solution, like Thomas Paine’s who published Common Sense which was considered the most important piece of writing of the American Revolution, is the power of the written word. It is said: “Paine's convincing arguments against the monarchy and British domination spread like wildfire throughout the colonies and turned the public tide toward independence.” General George Washington wrote to a friend in Massachusetts: "I find that Common Sense is working a powerful change there in the minds of many men. Few pamphlets have had so dramatic an effect on political events."

James E. Miller of Mises/Canada wrote two days ago in Moral Relativism and Patriotism as Weapons of the State on ZH:

“The institutional predation of the state is supported by a kind of war on reason fought by those who seek most fervently to maintain the exploitive status quo. The objective is enough consent on the part of the people to overwhelm any high-spirited protests. While independent and intellectual criticism is the state’s worst enemy, unthinking acceptance is its greatest ally.

“The ruling establishment sees little danger in violent uprising. What they fear most is the turning of public opinion against their legitimacy. They fear losing consent above all things because soon after, their lordship must come to an end. Support among the people is what keeps tyranny alive; not a violent clenching down upon personal freedom…

“All it takes to reverse such destructive thinking (relativism-judgment based upon whodunnit) is the realization that state authority deserves no pass in moral scrutiny. Withdrawing consent comes next on the path to a free society."

Nation's Economists Quietly Evacuating Their Families

http://www.theonion.com/articles/nations-economists-quietly-evacuating-t...

NEW YORK—As employment stagnates, manufacturing continues its slump, and overall confidence in the U.S. financial system wavers, the nation's economists have begun abandoning their homes and sending their loved ones overseas. "We've noticed a trend among the leading economic thinkers, be they Keynsians, supply-siders, or students of the Austrian school—they're putting their families on one-way flights out of the country, often leaving half-finished survival bunkers behind them," Paul Klement, an analyst with the Brookings Institute, told reporters Tuesday. "The flights aren't on domestic carriers, either. I think they saw something in that last transportation industry report that really spooked them." At press time, none of the nation's economists could be reached for comment.

As long as the masses willing comply and allow this to happen, then they deserve it, at least the masses inside those responsible countries. A revolution is possible. People are free to gather and storm the Fed, storm the ECB and storm other institutions that are creating bubbles and proloning the crisis while protecting the banks that defraud everybody. But they don't so their suffering is on average, consensual. Those outside the centrally planned westerna nations are innocent and it is a shame taht they must suffer just to satisfy some basic psychological biases and tendencies of our officials.

Until the Baby Boomers get off their fat asses and out into the streets with the children, nothing will happen.  When Oakland Bay Bridge strike was called, the 50-100 thousand people who showed up included the baby boomers and if you notice, the cops behaved themselves and the political figures were quick to defend the police actions against Scott Olsen.

Yes.  unless and until the baby boomers get involved, nothing is going to happen.  Their children will pay a heft price for their selfish focus on their govt subsidies (Medicare Part D)

I used to go to the Tea Party rallies, until I saw the 60+ "Boomer" crowd that made up the majority of the audience didn't want to talk (or hear) about Social Security and Medicare being broke, too.   No shared sacrifice from those people, they deserve ALL their benefits whether they paid for them or not.   When it comes to cutting Federal spending cuts there can't be any "no touch" categories.

When the collapse comes, everything will go to zero.

Think local and focus on the people with whom you can build personal equity.

1) Cut ALL ties with TBTF banks; find a credit union or local bank to keep the money in the community

2) Invest locally; keep the money in the community

3) Buy locally; keep the money in the community

4) Build relationships in the community

5) Demand your state acknowledge Article I Section 10 of the US Constitution, which allows for the use of gold and silver as money.

"The masses" need to wake TFU.  There was another article here on Zero Hedge about Ryan being Romney's VP and how it was some kind of desperate measure.  The author goes into a lather about how bad Ryan's budget is and how neither will solve our budget problems.  The author is correct about R&R being clueless and Ryan's plan not solving the problem.  Here is the greater problem though; Ryan's insufficient plan is considered RADICAL and PENNY-PINCHING by "the masses".  The truth is "the masses" don't get the problem.  They don't even understand the difference between a million, billion, or a trillion.  They have no clue about the average historical revenue collected by the government, how much can be squeezed from taxpayers, and what truly needs to be done by the government.  Unless and until the "masses" wake up and understand the problem, recognize they are being robbed, realize there is no longer a rule of law (see MFG, PFG Best, etc.), and that their precious Constitution is toilet paper (in regard to their civil liberties) we are all screwed.  My fear is that by the time they wake up, it will be too late to turn the tide.  I continually pee in the the wind by trying to wake folks up, but all I get is a blank stare and the verbal equivalent of a five year old covering his ears and yelling "NO NO NO".

With almost 50 million on food stamps, they are able to quell the mass starvation in this Country.  Imagine the stories on CNN, if those people had to que up in line each day, week, month to get their food from a FEMA truck?   No, the last thing to go will be the food stamp program.   A hungry mob is an angry mob (Bob Marley), and they know that.   Give them mindless TV and keep their bellies full, and there will be no uprisings (or sheeple stampedes).  In other countries, however, they may not be able to provide free food, and they will be subject to the wrath of the hungry masses.

It's quite simple, and the Greeks got close. Basically:

1: Thousands / Millions of people gather together outside the FED, ECB, Congress etc. when the modern day tyrants are inside.

2: Storm the building and physically remove these people from their position.

The gathering alone might be enough although I don't recall any time in recent history where mass rallies have done anything. If people in Egypt can do it, I'm pretty sure we can too. We are unlikely to be run over by tanks and the like so it should be a relatively clean effort.

Of course, most people don't understand or care enough to miss Dancing with the Stars on TV so I try not to get frustrated anymore and just accept that most of my neighbours actually want to be screwed over.
