"The good, say the mystics of spirit, is God, a being whose only definition is that he is beyond man's power to conceive- a definition that invalidates man's consciousness and nullifies his concepts of existence...Man's mind, say the mystics of spirit, must be subordinated to the will of God... Man's standard of value, say the mystics of spirit, is the pleasure of God, whose standards are beyond man's power of comprehension and must be accepted on faith....The purpose of man's life...is to become an abject zombie who serves a purpose he does not know, for reasons he is not to question." I doubt that Che Guevara instructed Obama to rescue banks, extend tax cuts for the rich, etc... So Alinsky's influence on Obama is kinda dubious. I'm still waiting to see Obama the radical marxist... All I've seen til now is another Wall Street puppet.

Obama has to achieve majority control to achieve to see the real radical Marxist to come out.  And to get there, he needs as many on the government dole and fighting against their entitlement cuts as he can generate.

At that point it will be easy for him to accomplish his true objectives.

I can't believe anybody could see Obama as a Marxist now. Either they don't know what Marxism is all about, or it's me who knows nothing (and damn, I had to study Marx!).

Also, I can't believe you people are expecting a 2nd Obama term with him doing a turn and starting the socialist revolution. You gotta be kidding me. Really? Can you actually imagine Obama nationalizing oil&gas, banks, utilities, healthcarem etc? Ha... yeah, like his (and his party's) donors are going to let him...

Truly horrifying, but detailed and well-sourced, article about Ayn Rand in her youth, that makes one turn away from her in absolute disgust ... it seemed she had the fascination of the Luciferian elite for the violent death of young children ...

To disagree with Rand on certain points is understandable, but to trash her is just wrong.

I think Ayn Rand was very childish.  But her depiction of Midas Mulligan and the valuable people setting up their own society was genius.  Why don't some of you ZHers do that?

Actually, if you look at the images you will see the trashing is directed at him. He is the self proclaimed follower who renounced his intellectual paramour, for Thomas Aquinas of all people. For the guy who gave copies of AS to his staff for Christmas it is like switching from McCarthy to Marx.

All the other hardcore libertarian stuff that she espoused, such as atheism and the right to chose, suddenly became distasteful to him when he realized it didn't mix with his political ambitions.

Read Faith and Force. I wonder whether he would agree with the premise of that work, as I do.

If by calling Ryan greedy you mean he no longer wants to spend money we don't have, then I'm all for greedy.

If by greedy you mean he wants to fix a broken Medicare system, then again I'm greedy.

If by greedy you mean he wants people who get a value to participate in a value exchange, not just be on the receiving end.

If by greedy you mean he doesn't want our dollars to be debased (insideouly taxed), to support a reported 100 million Americans who are now on the gov dole. Then I am fucking greedy.

Stop the bleeding? That might have worked 30 years ago (if you could have convinced enough voters that the threat of Soviet World Domination® was a bogeyman created by the pentagon). First aid 101 sort of makes the presumption that students in the course already know that first aid won't reanimate cadavers.

This election isn't about who gets to bleed the country dry, it's a fight over who gets to suck the marrow from the bones of its dried up husk of a corpse.

The problem with the world is absolutely greed. But I define it this way. Greed is wanting / demanding the UN EARNED! Greed is not working hard and wanting to keep what you have earned. If it is I am the greediest motherfucker on the planet.

I will not be made to feel guilty because I refuse to support the live of those who won't support themselves.

I will be the first to help someone down and out, but I refuse to help stupid or lazy. Those dopes are just lookin for a free ride, and quite honestly if their stupidity or laziness was about to kill them, I'd watch them die.

Gotta go to work now.

Oh the fear of the welfare queens. But don't fret. In all, the cost of the poor and disabled is a lot less than the costs of banks. You complain about the "stupid and lazy", supposedly talking about people on welfare. But there are others which I would call "stupid and lazy" who are on govt welfare, and they're called bankers and financiers. And you're giving your money to them like crazy.

I'd rather put money down for a welfare program for the disabled, poor and or hungry than give a single dime for a bank.

Agreed. I don't support public welfare beyond the point of a short term safety net, and taking care of those people who can't take care of themselves. I don't like it being a crutch it can become for the able bodied. However, I don't support under any circumstance corporate welfare of any type, If a person run their business in the ground that's on their shoulders not mine.

The problem we now have is the parasitical elite have worked so long and hard to make it impossible for small/micro entrepreneurs to set up and compete that there are so many more people who can't find a legitimate way to earn a living.

The safety net is stretched to the limit because a few jackasses decided that the economy did not have to be restructured. Instead they convinced everyone that indebtedness was the definition of prosperity. They created a nation of consumers of junk made in China financed with HELOC credit cards. They should all be hung.

Yes, and we should start calling them WELFARE KINGS.  These WELFARE KINGS steal more and cost society far more in one year than all the 'welfare queens' combined since welfare started.

WELFARE KINGS....I lke it.  It's easy for the common man to understand.  It was the Ronald Reagan welfare queen remarks that were an integral part of the explosion of greed ignited in the '80's 'greed is good' era.

By greedy he probably meant interested in maintaining and expanding his own privilege as well as that of his contributors; not for the public's good, but for his own (and contributor's) sake.

Because after all, to fix Medicare he wants to give it to the privates. That is, giving Medicare to the banks. Throw a problem to a bank and it'll make it worse. No solution there, just greed.

He no longer wants to spend money he doesn't have except when it's the military or any of his contributor's. That's also called greedy, because at the same time he cuts funds for those who truly need them to survive. Yup, Mammon there too.

The dollar won't be debased for the sake of welfare. It'll be debased to continue funding the military industrial banking complex. Yup, that's greedy too.

Greed should be a capital sin for cahtolics. Wonder what Ryan says aboot that.

A tune that Ron Paul does not sing.

The real kahuna?, They want the narrative to revert to last summer when everyone was pretending to argue about the budget instead of the kleptocracy.

Wall Street fell off the radar screen until OWS brought the issue front and center. They would all love for Wall Street to fall off the radar screen once again.

Yes the currency is fucked, we will get past that. Yes the governemtn is too big, they will shrink when the dollar dies....and no...the overloards do not control all.

Good article (ZH, George Washington I believe) on control of the internet conversation a few days ago. You should ask if your beliefs contribute to the conversation or are just an effort to control it. The 'there is no hope' mime is self defeating, lazy and wrong.

I have thought about a great deal. The current situation, which is a Morton's Fork, is the root of the problem. Basically Red versus Blue is another fancy trading hedge and the people who are setting up the trade have no interest in all the noise on TV.

They are set to win either way and until people wake up to that unpleasant reality there will only be more of the same.

No need to 'buy' Romney.  He is already a member of the club.  His dues are paid up.

They are, however, buying some insurance with ungodly sums of invisible campaign cash.  This, however, is a mere pittance compared to the expected windfall returns.  After all, what is a mere $billion invested when long term gain is a $trillion?
