Iran’s Words Mistranslated Again by Americans Trying to Start a War
Most Americans confuse zionism and Judaism.
While many assume that zionism simply means allowing the Israeli nation to exist, many zionists in high positions within the Netanyahu and Sharon administrations advocate for very different policies altogether, including the use of offensive wars throughout the Middle East. In reality, many devout Jews are against zionism as being antithetical to traditional Jewish values. As such, many Jews say that criticizing zionism is not anti-semitism. … and some zionists themselves admit that even non-Jews have the right to criticize Israel.
Zionists can be also be Christian. Indeed, millions of fundamentalist Christians – including many in the American military - want to start WWIII to speed the “second coming” of Jesus Christ.
As such, the common practice of American politicians and media of interchanging Iran’s words about the “zionist regime” with the word “Israel” is disingenuous. For example, AP reported today:
Israel‘s existence is an “insult to all humanity,” Iran’s president said Friday ….”The existence of the Zionist regime is an insult to all humanity,” Ahmadinejad said.
Criticizing a particular “regime” in Israel is akin to criticizing the “Bush administration” or the “Obama administration”. For example, saying that Bush should have been impeached is not calling for the American government to be overthrown.
Similarly, the AP story repeated the old canard:
Tensions between Iran and Israel have intensified since 2005, when Ahmadinejad said in a speech that Israel will one day be “wiped off the map.”
As a New York Times translation notes, Ahmadinejad wasn’t referring to Israel at all, but to the “regime” – i.e. the current political administration – in Israel.
Moreover, it was not Ahmadinejad himself speaking. He was quoting Ayatollah Khomeini, who died in 1989 (and who looked exactly like Sean Connery’s long-lost twin).
People can debate whether zionism is helpful or counter-productive, or which form of zionism is best. But interchanging zionism and Israel without explanation is misleading.
And anti-semitism is wholly unacceptable, as is prosecution of Christians, Muslims or anyone else for their religion or race.
But whatever Iran’s faults, the fact is that:
- The U.S. has been looking for an excuse to bomb Iran again for many decades
- The U.S. funds terrorist groups within Iran
- Iran protects Jews, and it’s constitution officially recognizes their rights (scroll to bottom; on the other hand, our close ally Saudi Arabia is virulently anti-semitic, and is the main backer of terrorism in the Middle East and abroad)
- The American media is always pro-war, and happily trumpets disinformation about supposed enemies to drum up support for new wars

You don't think Iranians know their words will be manipulated? The fact of the matter is that there will be a war, and when it comes, Iran wants the maximum amount of help it can get from radical elements within the Middle East. The only way to do this is to create loyalty to their supposed cause.
We bring this upon ourselves. By having an overwhelming military advantage over other countries, the smart ones are forced to find asymmetric means to fight us, and this is just one avenue for Iran, as is Hizbollah, Hamas, and so on.
So....don't worry about them twisting their words, that's what the Iranians want. When you should worry is when Israel stops talking about war, because so long as they do, it is a clear signal that they are not going to do anything. They go radio silent when they do something.

GW is quite right. There are thousands of Jews living in Iran who do not want to leave, protected officially under Iranian Shia religious doctrine ... they do not want to leave despite the desperation of Israel to induce them to depart.
Ahmadinejad is quite well received by non-Zionist Jews - such as many here in Belgium, particularly in Antwerp - who understand the propaganda against Iran. Non-Zionist Jews used to be the majority of Jews up till 1940, and there are still hundreds of thousands of them, but their voice is largely pushed aside by the mainstream media, and by sources such as Wikipedia, headed by the arch-Zionist Jimmy Wales, who is so high up in Mossad circles he even is among the special guests at birthday parties for the elderly President of Israel.

And GW is also right, that those quotes claiming Ahmadinejad wants to massacre Israelis are mis-translations and bogus frauds, as Farsi-speaking professors have continually tried to explain in the face of media hoaxes. Ahmadinejad in fact says 'I love the Jews, just not the Zionists'. His view is only, as GW says, that the Israeli regime should and will disappear from the pages of history ... A sentiment with which religious non-Zionist Jews in Belgium agree, who view the Israeli state as a sin and crime and offence against their ancient Jewish faith.
Non-Zionist Jews see Ahmadinejad as an ally, because he is one of the few national leaders speaking what they see as the truth about the corruption of Israel and the non-legitimacy of the Israeli state.
Hundreds of thousands of Jews both in Iran and out of Iran, in Belgium and in the US, agree that Iran is not a danger to Jewish lives, and that like non-Zionist Jews generally, Ahmadinejad also is another victim of the devious American-Israeli propaganda machine.
Iran deserves to be criticised for many things - above all for their death penalty and physical judicial penalties, the government-sanctioned torture and torment in executions - often by slow hanging where people take an hour to die, or by stone rocks thrown at women's heads - the whip beatings and mutilation and torture that makes them a cousin of the criminal Americans ...
But regarding Israel and the Jews and Iran, the world is bombarded with lies about Iran and their view on Jews.
Too bad more people do not know non-Zionist religious Jews such as we have in Belgium, who can open their eyes to what is really going on with Israel ... Take a good look at the video of those deeply religious and very well-informed Jews greating Ahmadinejad ... and consider why they agree with so much of what Ahmadinejad has to say about Israel ... why they see him as an ally against 'criminal Zionists' and not a threat to the lives of Jews.
Tragically, most of the Jews killed by the Nazis were non-Zionists ... leaving Judaism to be 'represented' by the types now in Israeli government, or dominant in the media coming out of America. Non-Zionist Jews are only a minority, but they seem to be the ones truest to the historical Jewish heritage ... and they say Iran is not the cause of danger to Jews at all.
Your views would change if you expressed free speech in iran and their secret police "encouraged" you to repent with a car battery. EVIL.
Properly applied, there's nothing wrong with the death penalty.
Each of us could become the victim of a murderer and should be able to register the sentence for anyone who takes our life.
Murderers of those who support the death penalty would die, murderers of those against the death penalty would not.

+1 for a modest proposal.... one question though: what happens if you change your mind about the sentence while the murderer is in the act? Also, it's hardly fair to murderers, as they would likely have no idea what they were getting themselves into before they killed you.
