it is far better to be chided for being heretic today than to end up just another devout slave on an endless plantation - holding out hope
(the myth of pandora was clear on this point i think)
we need to abandon our heroes the moment they fail us
but perhaps that is the price of being devout?
a certain uncanny susceptibility to inconsistency and rigged games
his response is pathetic, but i dont hang my hopes on leaders, especially not left over reaganites who are only 70% on board
but he was the right man in the right place at the right time for some of Our Ideas
hopefully the effort catalyzed a greater Conversation and Debate that will produce an increasingly relevant Cultural vector - sadly i still know alot of RPers who are essentially still on the plantation and lovin' it.
Changing a thoroughly corrupt system from within is essentially futile, for those who seek to change it will either be subverted or rejected. Even revolution faces the same hurdles unless the transformation begins within.
As long as we expect others to change first, any change that appears or is implemented will be short lived because it is we who ultimately enable the status quo to exist.
Please--you can't change it from within but you have to "tranformation" it from within-- Thats the height of congnitive obtuseness-- I call BULL SHIT
If nothing else Ron Paul did his damnedest to get the message out. Let it not be said that no one cared.
The Don Quixote of Congress.
"Changing a thoroughly corrupt system from within is essentially futile"
but sir, that is Precisely my point as well
it is all about the Culture - "it is we who ultimately enable the status quo to exist."
we agree
the rest is a dispute over taste and tasting as is much of life - logistical implementation vectors
the political system will not go away though, hence the onerous, primary task of changing first the culture thru information/cultural warfare
indeed, if Our Revolution is successful not a single shot need be fired, the Old World Order and NWO will both perish on the vine - we must simply create a soil hostile to the seed of tyranny, the rest is just solving for x
i guess i dont like political apathy in any form or anarchism, i love george carlin for instance but feel he led a lot of people down a dead end street towards being disinterested in political matters, but i think this is the enemy strategy in a nutshell: poison the water so completely that no one save fools dare wade in.
but i am credulous about the possibility of a growing consciousness within the electorate to produce meaningful political change, the time is not yet ripe, but the sun grows hotter with each passing day i think!
"Our Revolution" will, most unfortunately, likely be headed by America's New Saviour, The American "Juan Peron and his beautiful first lady Evita". Like Argentina, the military is a fertile ground to breed "leaders" such as these. "Law and Order" will be returned and The People will have their jobs back -- "a New America with everyone pulling together".
There is no reason to believe that this will turn out any better here than it did in Argentina. At least Argentina didn't have the bomb and the (imagined) wherewithal to occupy Planet Earth, not to mention the capability to keep track of each and every person on Earth and his assets, liabilities, thoughts and political beliefs. (America doesn't have that real or imagined capability, yet.)
The American Juan Peron...hmmmm
the real shame of all this was that RP was on the verge of capturing an entirely new audience to the ideas & concepts that he was promoting. this audience was well outside the spectrum of the "republican" party.
if he had chosen to run as an independent like the other RP back in '92, he might have an enormous influence of waking up that 100th monkey.
unfortunately, he chose to sacrifice that opportunity for the political ambitions of his son and his son's henchmen.
the myth of daedulus & icarus comes to mind. too bad, we going to have to read the entire story again to the bitter end before the moral of the story is relearned for the millionth time.
magna carta 2.0 is bigger than some old white dude from texas, we all knew that on day one when we bought the ticket

WB7, you're nothing short of genius! Best guffaws I've had all day.
I look at what the cartoon crowd etc do and I say to myself, why do these people hold back. Either they too are brainwashed or they are scared. They are intimidated by the old MSM order which still throws them meager crumbs.
I don't think any of these twisted examples of subhumanity red or blue, deserve any quarter from a satirist. It's just gotten too ridiculous.
In The Good Ol Days, Al Capp wasn't intimidated. Sadly his work died with him. Maybe TPTB wanted it that way?
RoCK oN WB7!
BUT SIR! ITS ONLY WAFER THIN!
better get me a bucket
brainwashed or they are scared

history shall smile kindly upon your trailblazing and i, for one, smile on it now :) (knowing im not alone and that the audience for such truth is growing)

Yes we can-kick.
Kang versus Kodos. That's what it boils down to.
