Happy Labor Day: Obama and Romney Both Scorn You, the American Worker

George Washington's picture

On Labor Day, it’s worth reflecting on how bad the 2 mainstream candidates are for workers.

Mr. Self-Sufficient Job Creator Mitt Romney’s Bain Capital destroyed jobs left and right.

Romney launched Bain Capital with money from the leaders of  El Salvador’s death squads.

And a federal bailout saved Bain from ruin.

But surely Mr. Liberal Help-the-Little-Guy Barack Obama is fighting for the worker?

Unfortunately not … Obama thinks that unemployment is a good thing, because it shows that the economy is productive.

Despite the partisan rhetoric, Obama and Romney both support policies which help the ultra-rich – and politicos in D.C.  – at the expense of everyone else.

They both support Idiotic government policies, the off-shoring of American jobs, never-ending bailouts and ruthless behavior by the big banks … and so we will continue to have Depression-level unemployment under either a second Obama term or a president Romney.

Your posts have been a load of crap lately. Romney is so much better than the Marxist is chief. Stop being an asshole.

over the top GW...how the fuck do you really what anyone thinks? 'Hates"? gimme abreak, maybe they don't even think about workers...but somehow you know what these guys think...kinda arrogant.

Neither Obummer or Mittens hates the American worker - workers are just cogs - useful idiots to provide wealth and power to the elite. Nothing more...

You're not special. (If you are lucky - you are special to your family and friends)

We KNOW one of the two is directly responsible for sending US jobs offshore. After Move On endorsed Obama, one ad was run: Mitt Romney, Bain and Co: How many American jobs did Mitt send offshore?

We also know Obama has never been CEO of a company that sent US jobs offshore. Nice try, though.

Ah, but it's not the figurehead you need to watch, rather the "backroom crowd". BOTH candidates are backed financially by the worst of the worst Corporates, and its these "Invisible People" that are really pulling the strings, irrespective of the Presidential Candidates "Political Affiliations".

As you state correctly, Obama has never been the CEO / CFO / COO of a Company that has offshored jobs, so by definition neither has he had Business experience (i.e. real, personal risk involvement), although to be fair nowadays it seems that the concept of "Personal Risk" for the high and mighty is a thing of the past - Socialise the losses folks!!!

I was going to do some snark about off-shoring to Kenya, but never mind.

Obummer has never had a job that was not created politically for him.

He created NO jobs anywhere.

Both the contenders are arseholes, but one is a skilled arsehole.

The evil of two lessers,I'm writing in RP.

The idiot Americans mistook the temporary prosperity of the '50's for a new normal. The prosperity was caused by the simple fact that every other sizeable developed country on the planet had had its industrial infrastructure destroyed in the war. After the rebuild, the "German Miracle", the "Japanese Miacle" it was downhill all the way for the US.

Aided and abbetted, of course, by the foulest people the US has to offer, politicians.

I am on to you's picture

The world(not only Usa)has gone nomb.

At any outskirt, of this planet people vote for the wrong people, and that goes for you to,even in Brussels, besides they havent have a goverment for a looooooong time, beside the unelected elite in the House of Horrors:

Both parties are anti-union and anti-higher workers wages. The GOP is honest about the first and lie about the second. The Democrats lie about both.

Anyone who relies on a fucking politician for a job should be taken out to a field and shot in the face.....for openers

So, bye bye to all your Civil Service then? Better include the Military (all three arms as well as the National Guard), ALL Police forces, ALL fire services, Coastguard, Medicare, FAA, Major University funding (for capital investment), interstate transport, the list goes on and on.

Whether we like it on not, it's the "Civil Services" that make our present existence comfortable, and generally safe. And the Civil Service are ultimately in thrall to the Politicos whether we like it or not.

Think outside of your little box...rube...

Expaaaaaaaand your mind......OTHER than fucking "civil service"....like...the private sector....

Run along now....

undoubtedly on the taxpayer tit

government doesn't produce - - it consumes. It forces at the point of the gun . . the citizens to pay up

It steals from one group to give to another

It has killed more in history than any other group

As it grows larger it impoverishes the people and endangers their very survival

The American founders knew history and understood this

apparently you do not

The US working people are suffering from their 'Empire' government, quite as described in J. A. Hobson's 1902 book 'Imperialism'

« Hobson argued that an Empire impoverishes the ordinary citizens of the Imperial nation, while funnelling money to small governing elites and what we would now call the military-industrial complex. »

- From a review of Hobson's work by the courageous whistleblower and former UK Ambassador Craig Murray
