If We Learn Our History, We’re NOT Doomed to Repeat It

George Washington's picture

What Is False Flag Terror?

“False flag terrorism” is defined as a government attacking its own people, then blaming others in order to justify going to war against the people it blames. Or as Wikipedia defines it:

False flag operations are covert operations conducted by governments, corporations, or other organizations, which are designed to appear as if they are being carried out by other entities. The name is derived from the military concept of flying false colors; that is, flying the flag of a country other than one’s own. False flag operations are not limited to war and counter-insurgency operations, and have been used in peace-time; for example, during Italy’s strategy of tension.

The term comes from the old days of wooden ships, when one ship would hang the flag of its enemy before attacking another ship in its own navy. Because the enemy’s flag, instead of the flag of the real country of the attacking ship, was hung, it was called a “false flag” attack.

Indeed, this concept is so well-accepted that rules of engagement for naval, air and land warfare all prohibit false flag attacks.

Leaders Throughout History Have Acknowledged False Flags

Leaders throughout history have acknowledged the danger of false flags:

“This and no other is the root from which a tyrant springs; when he first appears he is a protector.”
- Plato

“If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.”
- U.S. President James Madison

“Terrorism is the best political weapon for nothing drives people harder than a fear of sudden death”.
- Adolph Hitler

“Why of course the people don’t want war … But after all it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship … Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”
- Hermann Goering, Nazi leader.

“The easiest way to gain control of a population is to carry out acts of terror. [The public] will clamor for such laws if their personal security is threatened”.
- Josef Stalin

Governments from Around the World ADMIT that they Carry Out False Flag Terror

But don’t take our word for it.

Governments from around the world admit they carry out false flag terror:

  • A major with the Nazi SS admitted at the Nuremberg trials that – under orders from the chief of the Gestapo – he and some other Nazi operatives faked attacks on their own people and resources which they blamed on the Poles, to justify the invasion of Poland. Nazi general Franz Halder also testified at the Nuremberg trials that Nazi leader Hermann Goering admitted to setting fire to the German parliament building, and then falsely blaming the communists for the arson
  • The CIA admits that it hired Iranians in the 1950′s to pose as Communists and stage bombings in Iran in order to turn the country against its democratically-elected prime minister
  • Israel admits that an Israeli terrorist cell operating in Egypt planted bombs in several buildings, including U.S. diplomatic facilities, then left behind “evidence” implicating the Arabs as the culprits (one of the bombs detonated prematurely, allowing the Egyptians to identify the bombers, and several of the Israelis later confessed) (and see this and this)
  • As admitted by the U.S. government, recently declassified documents show that in the 1960′s, the American Joint Chiefs of Staff signed off on a plan to blow up AMERICAN airplanes (using an elaborate plan involving the switching of airplanes), and also to commit terrorist acts on American soil, and then to blame it on the Cubans in order to justify an invasion of Cuba. See the following ABC news report; the official documents; and watch this interview with the former Washington Investigative Producer for ABC’s World News Tonight with Peter Jennings.
  • 2 years before, American Senator George Smathers had suggested that the U.S. make “a false attack made on Guantanamo Bay which would give us the excuse of actually fomenting a fight which would then give us the excuse to go in and [overthrow Castro]“.
  • And Official State Department documents show that – only nine months before the Joint Chiefs of Staff plan was proposed – the head of the Joint Chiefs and other high-level officials discussed blowing up a consulate in the Dominican Republic in order to justify an invasion of that country. The 3 plans were not carried out, but they were all discussed as serious proposals
  • The South African Truth and Reconciliation Council found that, in 1989, the Civil Cooperation Bureau (a covert branch of the South African Defense Force) approached an explosives expert and asked him “to participate in an operation aimed at discrediting the ANC [the African National Congress] by bombing the police vehicle of the investigating officer into the murder incident”, thus framing the ANC for the bombing
  • An Algerian diplomat and several officers in the Algerian army admit that, in the 1990s, the Algerian army frequently massacred Algerian civilians and then blamed Islamic militants for the killings (and see this video; and Agence France-Presse, 9/27/2002, French Court Dismisses Algerian Defamation Suit Against Author)
  • According to the Washington Post, Indonesian police admit that the Indonesian military killed American teachers in Papua in 2002 and blamed the murders on a Papuan separatist group in order to get that group listed as a terrorist organization.
  • The well-respected former Indonesian president also admits that the government probably had a role in the Bali bombings
  • As reported by BBC, the New York Times, and Associated Press, Macedonian officials admit that the government murdered 7 innocent immigrants in cold blood and pretended that they were Al Qaeda soldiers attempting to assassinate Macedonian police, in order to join the “war on terror”.
  • Former Department of Justice lawyer John Yoo suggested in 2005 that the US should go on the offensive against al-Qaeda, having “our intelligence agencies create a false terrorist organization. It could have its own websites, recruitment centers, training camps, and fundraising operations. It could launch fake terrorist operations and claim credit for real terrorist strikes, helping to sow confusion within al-Qaeda’s ranks, causing operatives to doubt others’ identities and to question the validity of communications.”
  • United Press International reported in June 2005:

U.S. intelligence officers are reporting that some of the insurgents in Iraq are using recent-model Beretta 92 pistols, but the pistols seem to have had their serial numbers erased. The numbers do not appear to have been physically removed; the pistols seem to have come off a production line without any serial numbers. Analysts suggest the lack of serial numbers indicates that the weapons were intended for intelligence operations or terrorist cells with substantial government backing. Analysts speculate that these guns are probably from either Mossad or the CIA. Analysts speculate that agent provocateurs may be using the untraceable weapons even as U.S. authorities use insurgent attacks against civilians as evidence of the illegitimacy of the resistance.

  • Quebec police admitted that, in 2007, thugs carrying rocks to a peaceful protest were actually undercover Quebec police officers
  • At the G20 protests in London in 2009, a British member of parliament saw plain clothes police officers attempting to incite the crowd to violence
  • A Colombian army colonel has admitted that his unit murdered 57 civilians, then dressed them in uniforms and claimed they were rebels killed in combat
  • U.S. soldiers have admitted that if they kill innocent Iraqis and Afghanis, they then “drop” automatic weapons near their body so they can pretend they were militants

An Important CURRENT Threat

If we do not learn our history, we are doomed to repeat it.  But if people learn about false flags, they will lose their effectiveness.

This is not “old news”.

False flags to start new wars are a current threat both in Syria and in Iran:

  • Ron Paul has warned of a “Gulf of Tonkin type incident” in Iran
  • The highly influential Brookings Institution wrote a report in 2009 called “Which Path to Persia?” which states (pages 84-85):

It would be far more preferable if the United States could cite an Iranian provocation as justification for the airstrikes before launching them. Clearly, the more outrageous, the more deadly, and the more unprovoked the Iranian action, the better off the United States would be.Of course, it would be very difficult for the United States to goad Iran into such a provocation without the rest of the world recognizing this game, which would then undermine it. (One method that would have some possibility of success would be to ratchet up covert regime change efforts in the hope that Tehran would retaliate overtly, or even semi-overtly, which could then be portrayed as an unprovoked act of Iranian aggression.)

  • A number of very high-level former intelligence officers – including several that personally briefed presidents every day on matters of national security – stated that better communications between the U.S. and Iran were needed to “reduce the danger of … covert, false-flag attack”

McGowan also makes clear note of the Luciferian nature of that elite, military, psyops cult, too. Can't stress enough what a terrific read it is.

I've posted Inside the LC to many friends and to classic rock fans on this site, but for some reason, I'm having trouble getting people to read it. I can't understand why. I couldn't stop reading it once I started.

McGowan is an excellent writer on SRA, too. Not too sure about his moon stuff, though.

Inside the LC is a very important read, imo. As long as we're discussing ways to open people's minds, I'd like to know how to get people to entertain and digest that one.

Good link. Thanks for posting and discussing it.

Well, gtb, I'm just not sure where I stand on that matter, first off. I read his moon piece from beginning to end b/c his other stuff is just that good. I know a lot about SRA, and he's right on about that--very good stuff--excellent, in fact.

He admits that he's out of his element w/the moon stuff. Read it if you like. I'm not sure why it's at the top of Dave'sWeb (if it still is). It's so controversial on its face that it's likely to turn off readers who could glean much from his better written pieces on more important topics.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply.  I enjoy his writing and his wit and sarcasm.  I've read his Wag the Moondoogie series and found it thought provoking.  I remember as an 11 year old watching on TV the 1969 landing.  Now, all these years later, I don't believe a fucking thing this government tells us...so I'm now a skeptic w/regards to the moon landings.

I'm skeptical about them too, but that's as far as I would go. It's difficult to know one way or the other, and one only has so much time. I'm just not sure how important that one is. It's entertaining and interesting, sure.

And McGowan is clearly a good writer.

But he should not lead w/that stuff, imo. Inside the LC and his SRA stuff are much, much better.

Dude what do the Franklin Coverup, Asimov's son, Pete Townsend, the two Coreys, Travolta and Sanduskie have in common?

There are webs within webs.

How many Pedo rings aren't just there for the perverse sexuality but practice that old Black magic?

Crowley detailed ritually assfucking young guys to take some of their youthful vim and vigor.

And it's all connected .

Maybe GW would like to do an expose on the worldwide Pedo ring that coincides with the worldwide sex traffic trade.

Government CIA conspiracy crap is so 20th century. They don't even hid that shit anymore.

But kiddie fiddling always gets the hackles up.

Although the FBI now admits that the 2001 anthrax attacks were carried out by one or more U.S. government scientists, a senior FBI official says that the FBI was actually told to blame the Anthrax attacks on Al Qaeda by White House officials  (remember what the anthrax letters looked like).  Government officials also confirm that the white House tried to link the anthrax to Iraq as a justification for regime change in that country

i see a new self-aware culture growing up around the tyranny - something Unexpected and an inversion of the problem itself: Nature.

this is how the universe works at the fundamental level - the attempt to restore balance comes in the form of some force Always - Eventually

thats why we call it Hubris... you can divorce this concept from any Metaphysics, it is PHYSICS.

theres no need to tease out the quantum reality of this, we have macroscopic phenomenologies bleeding out in front of us across every market on earth Daily

What if Americans didn't all have amnesia?

What if those morons who cheered Bill Clinton last night, many of those stooges so-called union members, retracted their pea-sized brains out from their skanky butts and understand that Clinton, as governor of Arkansas, killed collective bargaining in that state and turned it into a "right to work" state?

What if all those cheering idiots finally realized that the Clinton administration was responsible for offshoring an enormous number of jobs and reducing millions of American workers to poverty (NAFTA, GATT, WTO Financial Services Agreement, various free trade agreements, etc.).

What if all those cheering fuckwits were sane enough to realize that Bill Clinton made over $100 million as a lobbyist for the jobs-offshoring industry after leaving the presidency.

(They'd probably want to thank him for taking time from his busy schedule of screwing the American worker!)

And what if skanky brains realized that on Hillary Clinton's second official trip as secretary of state to India, she promised them further American would be laid off and their jobs offshored there?

absolutely.

and while some may say the list doesnt go into certain areas that need to be covered - i would argue that it is a question of target audience

the task of simply cracking through the first layer of the ego construct for most people is key

this is a great primer as are the other works youve thrown up

youve boiled down the essence of the problem - i auto feed these out via twitter/fb/su/et al. better direct chain of custody for ideas on some level (this covers all my primary "email list" contacts sans professionals whom I know simply wouldnt be able to process the data)

this is Precisely the kind of mature analysis that there could NEVER be enough of

please never be put off by some of the more extreme zealots (their passion and the fire within their bellies is part and parcel of the condition we find ourselves in as a species)

to put it another way:

when you are being lined up in front of a mass grave to be shot in the back of the head, or being rounded up and put on cattle cars - its too late to go through the minutiae of the Reichstag Fire being a deliberately engineered false flag event

I would argue that qualitatively, all of western civilization is already at that point, but then I can see the entire eugenics ball game because im up here in the cheap seats

again: my comments should be taken as a caveat and are not intended to distract from the article or to criticize the author or his intent

Yeah ... I added the following to the main post, then removed it, 'cause it was getting too long ...

As I noted last year:

War is always sold to it's people by artificially demonizing the enemy:

Countries need to lie about their enemies in order to demonize them sufficiently so that the people will support the war.

That is why intelligence "failures" - such as the following - are so common:

  • It is also now well-accepted that the Gulf of Tonkin Incident which led to the Vietnam war was a fiction (confirmed here).

Indeed, in a newly-released documentary, U.S. soldiers admit that if they accidentally kill innocent Iraqis and Afghanis, they then "drop" automatic weapons near their body so they can pretend they were militants:

As I noted last year:

On Monday, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Hugh Shelton told Jon Stewart that a Clinton cabinet member proposed letting Saddam kill an American pilot as a pretext for war in Iraq:

(And see this; and this excerpt from General Shelton's book).

This might seem, at first glance, like just an odd, one-off suggestion.

However, as reported by the New York Times and other newspapers, George W. Bush also suggested to Tony Blair that a U.S. plane be painted in United Nations colors so that - if Saddam shot it down - it would create a casus belli. As the Times wrote in 2006:

The memo [confirmed by two senior British officials as being authentic] also shows that the president and the prime minister acknowledged that no unconventional weapons had been found inside Iraq. Faced with the possibility of not finding any before the planned invasion, Mr. Bush talked about several ways to provoke a confrontation, including a proposal to paint a United States surveillance plane in the colors of the United Nations in hopes of drawing fire ....

Indeed, the former director of the National Security Agency said:

By any measure the US has long used terrorism. In ‘78-79 the Senate was trying to pass a law against international terrorism - in every version they produced, the lawyers said the US would be in violation.

(audio here).

And the propaganda never stops.

Recently, two whorescum newsies (perhaps with WaPo, but I don't exactly recall) wrote some crapola of a book about the presidents' hotel in Washington, D.C., where former US presidents stay.

In their book, they write some contrived nonsense about how, after the Bay of Pigs fiasco, Eisenhower came and met with President Kennedy, they went to Camp David, where, according to these two newsy whorescum "authors" --- Eisenhower took Kennedy to the woodshed.

As one who was alive back then and heard the real story, Kennedy was furious with Eisenhower for all those whackjob generals Ike had appointed to the Joint Chiefs of Staff (Lemnitzer, LeMay, etc., etc.).

Operation North Wood wasn't the only whackadoodle operation they presented JFK with, along with their lies about the Bay of Pigs and the popular uprising against Castro in Cuba........

David Shoup didn't play--the like ninth time in his life that makes him a hero in my book.

Ref: Halberstam "Best and Brightest".

He came into the presentation about the invasion with the Kennedy family and had his MOH ribbon on and one slide (this was before Bill Gates bought whoever invented powerpoint) that was a) a map of Cuba and b) a map of Tarawa superimposed.  Tarawa is a tiny little shosh' of an island, where the grunts lost hugely in 72 hours.

Shoup was dismissed.  Disaster followed.

did babe ruth need to calculate the component vectors or did he just know how to hit the ball (at some point the human being is like a hyper computer and you can make projections based on stored data relatively easily without calculating new inputs)

at some point, no amount of sifting through synthetic data will convince sheeple and no amount of edification will produce a new and codifying synthesis

there comes a time when one no longer needs to produce endless bullets points citing the incredibly long and well documented track record of events - indeed, we can feel the prison walls closing in on us, we do not need to go over the blueprints

thats a great bullet point list of salient items that even the most diehard sheeple cannot refute, but then, demoralized people do not require refutations based upon empirical data - indeed, one can show the average sheeple two cards, one white, one black - and the state of demoralization renders them UNABLE TO DIFFERENTIATE

"The individual is handicapped by coming face to face with a Conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists. The American mind simply has not come to a realization of the evil which has been introduced into our midst."

Syria and Iran - no real cause is necessary any longer, even a set of false flags isnt necessary, you all heard Panetta, he basically said UN+POTUS = no need for congreff

ZOG does not always get away with it. Remember that "Iran plots to assassinate Saudi ambassador" sting the FBI tried to pull of a few months back, involving the used car dealer in south Texas? The 'net shot that one down in about 15 minutes, tho Sean Hannity and friends did spend another week or so gnashing their teeth. Right now, I'd bet on an Israeli sub putting a torp into an American ship off the Iranian coast...I mean, we won't "really" know who did it, will we?

Exactly.  People beg to be told what they want to hear . . . and then fervently embrace the lies they receive, regardless of how absurd they are.

Consider the political party duopoly.  Both swearing they want more jobs.  Jobs, jobs, jobs.

It's easy enough to doubt the priorities of the empty "job creators."  What about the dimocrats, the "populists"?
