Actually, this is not Europe … all of the photos were taken in Iran.

Wait … what?  How can that be?

When Americans think about Iran, they usually picture something like this:

Or this:

Or perhaps this:

SandstormSaudiArabia2 Guess Where These Beautiful Pictures Were Taken ...

The 4 Middle Eastern pictures above are from Saudi Arabia, not Iran. Same thing, you say?   Actually, Saudi Arabia is doing its best to overthrow Iran via terrorism, and is persecuting Christians and Jews much more than Iran.

Maybe we should learn a little bit more before deciding whether or not to bomb Iran?

Especially since the U.S. has been claiming for more than 30 years that Iran was on the verge of nuclear capability, and top American and Israeli defense and intelligence bosses say that bombing Iran will only increase the odds that Iran will actually build a nuclear weapon?

Postscript:   Iran obviously has problems and is far from perfect.  But given the tidal wave of propaganda in the news which is doing everything possible to “demonize the enemy” to justify war, we think it is valuable to provide some balance and perspective.

Regardless of what country we each live in, I think we can all agree that sometimes beautiful countries and Peaceful loving people can get some real asshats for leaders.

What a Government portrays and projects should not be identified 100% with what the majority of it's citizens feel.

In definite need of peace bombs and kinetic action.  To think some idiots want to make a glass parking lot out of the place.  Some poor degenrates enjoy the death of women and children.  Karma will bite them all in the ass if not a bullet first!

Iran has its beautiful mountainous regions as well.  Kinda like Afghanistan!:)

The Rat, lololololololo love those movies.  Those pictures are of Iran, I've seen some of them before.  Also something to notice is that Iran has a population of 75 million people and is the most moutainous country in Europe (in other words no tank assaults.

In 2011, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper testified before Congress that “we continue to judge Iran’s nuclear decision-making is guided by a cost-benefit approach.” Last week, Gen. Ron Burgess, director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, told Congress that “the agency assesses Iran is unlikely to initiate or provoke a conflict.” Last weekend, Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told CNN’s Fareed Zakaria: “We are of the opinion that Iran is a rational actor.”

Great post.  Thanks for the perspective.  Iran is indeed far from perfect but I have no use for Israel either.  Our mindless support of Zionism has greatly contributed to instability in the Middle East and our growing police state here at home.

Fucking a-right. At least Iran can supply us with oil. Israel supplies us nothing and puts their hand out for foreign aid. We can't even have a base on their land. AIPAC is the only political action committee that sits on Senate Defense briefings.

We are fools for Israel, we owe them nothing. Not a single life. Get off our soil!

Well George what the Hell were we supposed to do? Our previous Emmanuel Goldstein went a head and went broke on us.

So in the last century we had two "The Giant Evil Them" that we defeated (then helped them on installments to get back on their feet).

The one after them went broke.

We Needed a NEW Emmanuel Goldstein. With these charactoristics.

1. we couldn't outright beat them, (we need duration of MIC expenditures)

2. They couldn't go broke.

3. ideally they would be a "Variable" not a "Literal" meaning they can't be a real people or country. That way, the enemy could morph over time as our needs change.

Ladies and Gentlemen I give you

"Terrorists"

War On Terror A completely morphable Emmanuel Goldstein.

They could be foreign or domestic

They could be any race (but Preferably brown toned but a pure white constitutionalist would work too.)

Hell, with the right news story and prep work We could get 80 year old grandmoms and 8 year old red headed girls with freckles to bend and spread them at every airport and bus/train station,

THE IDEAL ENEMY

All of Iran's beauty is for NOTHING because of the horrible Satanic religion that is smothering it.  Just as recently as only a few hours ago, its leader made reference to destroying israel, motivated by that very religion.  That religion believes it must destroy the Jews wherever they find them, but you should recall that the Jews do not need to kill Persians in order to live.

Maybe we should post some equally beautiful pictures of Israel and the Jews and Arabs who live there and only after we do that can we continue the discussion about why anyone would threaten to bomb Iran.

we are not bombing iran just because of nuclear weapons, its the petro-dollar stupid!

and don't worry , the u.s. always plans on minimizing the news coverage of the inevitable collateral damage. so long as we're not committing genocide it's ok if a combination of sanctions and bombing kill half a million innocent people because if it wasn't us, it will be someone else.

hey, somebody has to be the biggest baddest mother-----r on the block no?

Before the extremists Iran had a real Democracy for about 30 seconds.  Then they made the mistake of thinking the oil belonged to them and kicked out the British, who went begging to the US, who arranged the first CIA coup, which brought in the Shah, which gave Iran 20 years of brutal dictatorship, which led to the extremists.  Living under a dictatorship tends to create extreme views.  Tough to go back to a Democracy, especially when the US has you surrounded.  Maybe if the US ever gets a real Democracy, then Iran will get another chance.

Iran is quite LITERALLY surrounded by hostiles, mostly the US.  We have bases throughout the middle east, and Iraq and Afghanistan completed the stranglehold.

And if the US stopped screwing around in their politics, they'd be the most secular and westernized nation in the Middle East.  The youth love US 'culture' and the older generatiosn fondly remember fashions form Paris, booze from the US and all else western under the SHah (though are not so fond of the Shah's repression).

US interference in Iran (our installation and support of the Shah) and our continued saber rattling since is what put the fundamentalists in control and what keeps them there.

Anything that has the unchecked power of the state behind it is going to get perverted, whether 12th C. Catholic church hierarchy, the theistic Islamic caliphate firebrands, or the Secular Communist true worshipers.  First of all state power should not be unchecked - and states should not be coopting official religious and secular dogmas, in order to achieve such power.  Dogmas are perverted and used as covers to kill/war on other 'unbelievers.'

Mighty short hop from Tel Aviv to Moscow, especially for F-15s with FAST packs and a single B-61 equivalent nuclear gravity bomb.   Story goes that Israel assembled a few warheads in 1973 during the darkest hours of the Arab league invasion.   The tide turned and they weren't used.   But the Soviets did threaten to intervene directly after the Egyptian Third Army was surrounded.    Several Soviet airborn divisions were put staged for deployment.   The US went to Defcon 3.   The Israelis started calculating how big a hole they;d have to dig under the Kremlin at that point.
