I am reading a biography of Goebbels based on an examination of his extensive diaries which were made available in the Russian archives. Naturally, this book was not published in the US.
Did you know that Herr Goebbels was an avid fan of Edward Bernays, the father of American Public Relations and Madison Avenue?
Think about what that means.
I want to mention once again that for a sanity check, I constantly run these analogies, parallels and disquieting observations past both of my parents who literally survived the big war.

There are several ways to approach Bernays:
1. Be a follower of his theory of plutocracy (Rove and many many others);
2. Study his theory of plutocracy to better understand the nature of the beast;
3. Understanding the foundations of media propaganda.
I prefer 2 and 3. Number 1 does not surprise me.

Looking for the next Hitler is not the point of the exercise as so many think. The point is to look at mob behavior and mass manipulation by elites and the extreme actions that are enabled by this knowledge. Looking at how the Neocons manipulated everyone during the Iraq War is one important example.
Looking at what is unfolding now is imperative.

Americans, despite their fixation with "freedom", are remarkably prone to mindless conformity. My abiding memory of the build up to the Second Iraq Sodomization was some stupid hick country radio DJ (I was at work, I had to listen) saying "People are saying we shouldn't invade, but when the President says go, you go." A more perfect example of "The Fuhrer is always right" would be hard to find. (For the record, I was the only one on the job site who found this objectionable)
Shit, the only difference between the US now and any state in history is the means of manipulation are cheaper and more easily accessible. The pharaohs certainly didn't lack the will, it's just the Pyramids weren't as effective in numbing the brain as Honey Boo Boo.
The methodology has changed since the propaganda flow is no longer through one pipe and is now "two way".
There is some interesting stuff floating around concerning the propaganda paradigm shift and the transition from an industrial to information society: google "control society."
No need to even look for the new "Hitler". The old hitler Osama bin Biden was quickly wrapped up and buried at sea in compliance with all Islamic funeral norms. Never mind the footnote in history that the entire navy seal team responsible for bin Biden's "capture and death" were all quickly wiped out in a helicopter crash never to be heard from again.
The new hitler is a guy like me. I am more of a threat because im not pushing my dialysis crash cart in and out of my mountain hideouts in a far off land.I have been labeled an enemy of the state just because I breath and I am here in the USA-ah the better to control me I would say.
The war has been brought right here to the USA, not yet a shooting war but a war just the same. Right now it's a war of mass manipulation and mob behavior like you say, one only needs to watch the media to see this.

Actually, I would've been surprised if this was not the case. Same thing as Hitler studying/respecting Lincoln, the Western World's biggest outlaw up to that day. The fact that Abe got away with so much criminal activity (as per the US Constitution), murdering or imprisoning anyone who as much as dared speak out against him (Francis Scott Key's grandson, for one), while pretending to operate under the law, well, now that's a crime to be admired and studied for future reference.
If only the inventors of the printing press and the computer could ever imagine what their inventions would be responsible for.

I tried it with the two bars and it got a little crowded. I wanted to keep the width of the bars the same. Kind of like moving the squares around on one of those old word puzzle games.
So the salute must be left arm outstreched parallel to the floor, palm up, heels click, and a resounding "Print!".
