Another hilarious piece WB7 keep them coming

The guy could have stayed in the US to get this kind of treatment.

NoDebt's picture

Yes, but he would have paid a lot more in taxes prior to his arrest.  And during his arrest and, quite frankly, after his arrest.

You don't know about Belize?  Aw, come on, man, EVERYBODY knows about Belize!

shovelhead's picture

Well, you always pay, one way or another.

Being an old fashioned type, I assume that a murder charge would require some proof of some kind, no matter how rich or crazy you are.

It could be different in Belize.

Use Norton. Tell it McAfee is a virus and you want it removed.

JosephConrad's picture

The only Virus in america is its wealthiest .001%. Remove this 'cohort' and the nation may survive. The alterantive? A Syrian/Lybian-like eco-political 'restructuring' dissolving world peace and economic systems like a 'Fizzy' in water....

Senor McAfee we would very much like to welcome you back to our lovely country and have prepared a special place for you to stay. The 4 brothers of your 17 year old girl friend will be your hosts for the evening, please enjoy and maybe we will have a little talk tomorrow.

It's the case of yet another corrupt government being angry that it didn't get it's cut.

williambanzai7's picture

What is somewhat puzzling is there are quite a number of expatriate millionaires set up down there (I am sure some of them have much more than $4 million which is chump change for that kind of life style) and none of them seem to have attracted the bizarre series of events drawn to this "low profile" Americano?

Let me ask you a different question. You are on the run. You say your life is threatened. You hang out in a resort with two journalists tagging along? You blab to numerous MSM outlets so they can report on your doings. Then you publish a mobile phone image of yourself on the internet? Then you wind up blogging from a jail while you are requesting asylum in another country?

Who needs reality TV shows like the Great Race series.

Don't be fooled. It's just the very clever buildup for an insanity plea.

Just kidding, he really is nutz.

I suspect that he really is psychotic. Typical behavior of a schizophrenic or manic depressive in a psychotic manic phase.

Epsom salts bath, or bath salts.

Some prophylactic lithium might help too.

Trenchf00t's picture

Don't worry, there is a cure! It's just a tad unconventional, so bear with me. I got this advice from the man himself. What you need to do is moisten your middle finger and press it down on some bath salts, then you stick it up your ass. You should be right as rain after that, though you might feel an urge to shoot your neighbors in the face.

This guy is a Libertarian hero. That is if you ignore the quirky paranoia and contempt for human beings.

Maybe he could run for president w Rand Paul?

The scum in Belieze or wherever killed the guy's dog.  Same police state type dog killing cops we have in Oba-Amerika.

Dr Benway's picture

I thought McAfee suspected his neighbour of poisoning the dogs?

Goner's picture

I have been trying to follow this story for awhile since I have an interest in Belize. Honestly I still cant decide what I believe. There is certainly some evidence that John is NOT guilty but who knows. Government corruption, civilian shakedowns and taking private property (land and homes) is nothing new for Belize

Here is some interesting reading

http://www.whoismcafee.com/

As far as the timeline

1) Johns neighbor's dogs are poisoned and killed

2) The next night Johns neighbor is killed

3) John is detained and his compound searched. His dogs are poisoned (in the same manner that his neighbors were earlier) and shot

Good job WB7. Bloomberg also did pretty good reporting on this. Said the guy hacked the image watermarks showing him to be in quatamala ? , yet he was captured in the place he was supposedly honeypotting. he is now blogging from prison. Anchor said para: "Without any determination of guilt by me. I am glad this guy got caught. Brings an end to another epic low speed chase of a white bronco"

wisefool's picture

A junk for this post? Wow. I also have no opinion of whether the guy was guilty or not. his ethical beliefs, etc.

I just reported on reporting and I get junked? I am not affiliated with bloomberg. it is just one of the few free over the net news sources. and I even wont be able to afford that soon.

Don't fret yourself, Stanks the junk dog is off his chain.

I hear this one is wicked. Once it is installed on enough personal computers it starts to think its important, and subsequently attempts to overthrow a small Latin American republic.

bank guy in Brussels's picture

Yes, that is interesting, some doubt here

Seems the core of McAfee's claim is that he was not paying the bribes wanted by local Belize authorities ... he was donating heavily to local common people directly instead of into the pockets of the government officials

So it was just like in America where all the big companies and wealthy business people have to bribe the politicians and the US judges

McAfee is a little weird but so are a lot of computer geeks I know ... weirdness would naturally intensify as a rich nerd often targeted by schemers, so that doesn't tell anything

This may take some digging to know what is true

It is possible McAfee was a nerdy weird guy who didn't realise you always have to pay the extortionists in all banana republics, whether the big American one or the little banana ones

Just like in America, they make examples out of the ones who don't pay

A few years back in the USA, Warren Buffett himself was targeted after being too critical of America ... Bloomberg reported possible charges brewing, pending ... then one day Bloomberg reported the investigation was totally terminated, Buffett will not be investigated ... the deal was done ...

Shortly afterward Warren Buffett was 'bullish on America' ... Ha! ... even the oligarchs are not allowed to break ranks ... Funny that they too are prisoners of the 'system'

chubbar's picture

I might also add that it was around this time that Buffett was divested of his 135 million ounces of silver. Which he claimed he sold of his own volition.

koncaswatch's picture

As one who is closer to this than I would wish to be, I can say very perceptive Bank Guy. I think you've nailed it.
