mayan calendar1 End of the World? Hear the 2012 Prophecy ... Direct from the Mouths of the Mayan Priests

Ignore Second-Hand Information … Hear the Real Prophecy

Preface:  The Mayan 2012 end of the world “prophecy” is scaring the pants off numerous children and suicidal teeangers.  1-in-10 people believe that the Mayans have prophesied the end of the world (and see this). A Google search for "Maya 2012" currently brings up 325 million hits, only slightly less than a search for  the most popular words.

This post is a public service announcement to reach children and adults scared about the Mayan prophecy … to show with the Mayan priests’ own words that the world will not end in 2012.

Many people are talking about the Mayan 2012 prophecy.

But few know what the Mayan priests actually said about 2012.

In reality, Mayan elders say something very different from what you might have heard.

For example, Wakatel Utiw – leader of the National Council of Elders Mayas, Xinca and Garifuna, Day Keeper of the Mayan Calendar, and 13th generation Quiche Mayan Spiritual Leader -  says that the end of the Maya calendar has nothing to do with the end of the world.

He also explains that December 21, 2012 might not even be the end of this cycle of the calendar:

Contrary to popular belief the living elders of the Maya do not agree that December 21, 2012 is the end of their calendar. A new “Sun” represents the beginning of a new Long Count cycle in the calendar system of approximately 5,200 years, which they say may not happen for many years.

And see this.

(A brand new film called “Shift of the Ages” tells the Mayans’ beliefs in detail … and gives their true warnings.)

Similarly, Tz’utujil Mayan elder Tata Pedro Cruz says that the world will not end in 2012:

Mayan elder and priest Carlos Barrios – who has extensively studied the Mayan calendars – says:

Anthropologists visit the temple sites and read the inscriptions and make up stories about the Maya, but they do not read the signs correctly. It’s just their imagination. Other people write about prophecy in the name of the Maya. They say that the world will end in December 2012. The Mayan elders are angry with this. The world will not end. It will be transformed.”

Leonzo Barreno – a Guatemalan native who was trained by Mayan elders to read the ancient calendars – says says the ‘apocalypse’ concept is a false interpretation of the Long Count calendar, that the Mayan elders taught him that December 21 this year simply marks the start of a new calendar:

‘There are two sides to the story,’ he told CBC. ‘The one that we know is this apocalyptic meaning that has been given to the Long Count.

‘The other side of the story is the Mayan side, which you rarely see on media articles, because they never interview my own people.’

‘For them it’s a joyous event, not an apocalyptic event. What is coming is the end of a calendar and the beginning of a new one.

Ricardo Cajas – president of the Collective of Native Organizations of Colectivo de Organizaciones Indígenas de Guatemala – says the date did not represent an end of humanity or fulfillment of the catastrophic prophecies, but that the new cycle “supposes changes in human consciousness.” (Translation).

Pedro Celestino Yac Noj – a Mayan sage living in Cuba – says:

The 21st is for giving thanks and gratitude and the 22nd welcomes the new cycle, a new dawn.

Rather than being the end of the world, Mayan priest Jose Manrique Esquive believes that 2012 may bring a transition to a better time for humankind.

And AP noted in 2009:

Apolinario Chile Pixtun is tired of being bombarded with frantic questions about the Mayan calendar supposedly “running out” on Dec. 21, 2012. After all, it’s not the end of the world.

Definitely not, the Mayan Indian elder insists.

Chile Pixtun, a Guatemalan, says the doomsday theories spring from Western, not Mayan ideas.

And if you don’t believe what the current Mayan leaders say, please remember that archaeologists recently found a cache of ancient Mayan calendars which goes thousands of years past 2012. And see this.

Note: The Mayan elders do make prophetic warnings, but it has nothing to do with 2012. Specifically, they warn that we need to rein in war and pollution or we will destroy ourselves.

Given that numerous end of the world prophecies have come and gone without incident, and that the Pope has declared that – due to a miscalculation – we are currently in AD 2016, not 2012 – it is smart to take all date-specific predictions with a spoonful of cynicism.

Made me laugh.

More 'mesoamerican' kicking of pottery, stealing of land from pre-mesoamericans, slavery of non-mesoamericans, all for maintaing 'mesoamerican' lifestyle of farming the jungle floor and exporting the teak.  For 'mesoamericans', the group human sacrifice is all.

But hey, in 'mesoamericanism', the temple-building class is the king class.  Just have to bear with it.

Not seen one time a link to reference the article from that Mayan citizen author that laudates the entrepreneurial spirit of the young Mayan citizenism citizens going to find flint nappery opportunities in Tikal.

Contrary history to fabled past is sweeped under grass mat and pottery kicked on top of mat.

Free press. Speak of everything but for some piece of information.

Same old song. Mayan citizenism and Mayan citizenism comments, as usual. Nothing new here.

It is the same story since the beginning. Mayan citizens are split in duos, dancing for the same purpose. The pottery kickers, they will deny all the way the sacrifice limitation issue.

The tomorrow, it happens. They want to create a sense of emergency by claiming it will happen tomorrow or has already happened. Yet the underlying issue is not addressed. Sacrifice is limited.

7 of 7, 365 of 365, 24 of 24, in all bivalvular crustiness. One day, it will be tomorrow, no matter the whatness.

Bear with it.

Sorry, Freddie, you need to update your talk-radio acquired programming. Foxconn workers have recently striked, and Foxconn quality control managers have also striked after workers beat the crap out of them.

The first civilisation of Mesoamerica were the Olmecs.  They started animal sacrifices and human blood-letting as religious ritual.

It was the Aztecs that went berzerkers and killed about 20,00 of their own people a year.

Matt's picture

Well, it wasn't really they're own people. The Mexico City guys were enslaving and ritually killing all the other people. Which is why Cortez was able, with only 350 men, to take down an empire of millions. Many of the enslaved city-states joined his army on the march to take down the empire.

When the SHTF and the ObamTheMullahCards stop despensing The Bernanke's worthless FIAT - this Aztec's hijinx will look like a walk in the park.

It's not the robots I'm afraid of. The speech was all good until he started talking about creating a non-worker's Utopia.

Just because one person in 10,000 can create innovations that support the 9999, doesn't mean that 99.99% of that innovators income should be redistributed.

Of course, if everyone replaces all their workers with robots, who will have money to buy stuff? The Public Sector employees will still be there even once the private sector is gone.

His vision of the techno-topia sounds great, until that CME hits.

If the pope says it's actually AD 2016, then we passed AD 2012 4 years ago without incident...

Kids should be more freightened of reality than any Mayan BS.  Our mullah is more of a threat than any Mayan nonsense.   The end is coming but not the one they expected.   Keep watching TV and hollywood's crap - kids - they enjoy brainwashing idiots.

It is a shame Syd went nuts from too many drugs.  This period from Waters trying to write songs really sucked.

The question is not; Why do humans believe the end of the world is near?

The real question is; Why do humans want the end of the world to be near?

Ironically, the last person you would want to survive a disaster with is a nihilist.

[...]the date did not represent an end of humanity or fulfillment of the catastrophic prophecies, but that the new cycle “supposes changes in human consciousness.”

[...]They say that the world will end in December 2012. The Mayan elders are angry with this. The world will not end. It will be transformed.”

There's hope the Mayan elders are talking about the exposure of the biggest scam in the history of the world and that people will wake up on the morning of the 22nd and collectively think FUCK YOU BERNANKE, FUCK YOU FED.

Now that's transformation I want to believe in.

It's time to prepare for the second coming. The catalysts are the events of 9/11 and the fall of the American empire in 2008. Those two are epic events of biblical proportions. Not biblical events itself. Although, isn't it time the bible gets expanded beyond the first two centuries AD? So much has happened since then which has relevance to "belief" and "faith" and by God's grace we are still around to talk about it and live to see another day.

Christians are too complacent in this age. The Pharisees and Saduccees are still in full control of the Sanhedrin. Christians are not recognizing the true state of their enemy and have been sucked in by distraction of a secular Christmas holiday for example.

Hypocrites! Going from the place where their strongest opposition resides into the unchurched world to preach a message that they are not applying in their own homes!

Opposition should be against the regime and the oppression right at home. Christ is not coming a second time unless Christians start preparing the way. Start by preaching truth about the events of 9/11 and truth about the events of 2008 in every church in every town in America. I DARE YOU!

everything that is hidden will be disclosed....

I hear no mention of the Federal Reserve Charter which ends on the 21st. Maybe it is doomsday for the cabal?

tip e. canoe's picture

have you ever found any definitive proof that it is in fact a 99 year charter?   never been able to find any myself.

walküre's picture

We can only hope. So much gets buried by the cabal and her lackeys in the official churches. There is collusion, conspiracy and misrepresentation of the very person the religioin was based on. They get away with it again and again because Christians (except for a few) refuse to stand up to a government that allows them to preach as long as preaching is within the parameters of government set of laws.

Exposing government lies and propaganda always carries a stigma and persecution. If the churches aren't preaching truth, who will? Truth is the opposite of propaganda. If churches are silent on these things, they are complicit. Hypocrites!

Whe mankind is long dead and the aliens explore our ruins, they will wonder why we genetically modified our food to make it poisonous and unable to grow without chemicals...

Whey we deciced to use uranium/plutonium for our reactors, when Throium was plentiful,

Why we paved over our farmland to create places to park shiny metal boxes.

Why we injected nasty chemicals into the ground to poison our water so that natural gas would come out of the hole for a month, then stop.

This is what I am pulling for.  And the demise of the NWO and all their dirty laundry aired, which will hopefully lead to most of the world being reborn in freedom and solidarity.

I think the reason the original prophecy is ignored is that the puppetmasters don't want us to realise that 2012 marks the end of THEIR world, and a rebirth into a better way of doing things.  They don't want us to even consider that a better way might be viable.  This is also the reason they are keeping the alien hippies under wraps (for another 10 days?)  Alien hippies scare them more than an infestation of face suckers (which they can at least relate to).

I am just thinking what the next (doomsday) date will be? I mean we're past the Cold War(nuclear winter), Y2K, now 2012, there are no obvious Armageddon candidates left, unless you wanna wait for  Haley's Comet to return, or Jesus's return whichever comes 1st, any ideas ?

SgtShaftoe's picture

I wouldn't write off that cold war nuclear armageddon stuff so fast.  Just because we don't look at the world that way anymore doesn't mean the machines of death have been repositioned. The US still has thousands of warheads on alert, targeted, ready to be fired in seconds...  It almost happened too many times to count, the latest we know of during Yeltzin's term.   We only changed the launch codes from a string of 16 zeros in the 70s! Until this stuff is all buried, dismantled or burned up, the world is still under threat.  We're only 10 minutes from doomsday at any given moment.

People should stop worrying about prophecies and alien invasion.  It's government stupidity and hubris you should be afraid of.

Asteroid Apophis is supposed to pass close in 2029, closer than man-made satellites. This could alter the path enough for an impact on April 13, 2036.

Someone should pick some scary numerological dates for Yellowstone supervolcano, a CME from the sun that causes spent fuel ponds to meltdown, and there is always global food/oil shortage.

Of course, if America ever hits the "Off" switch for the Internet, things could get pretty exciting pretty fast.
