Animals and 6-Month-Old Infants Are Getting Fatter … Which Mean that It’s Something In the Environment
We’ve extensively documented that toxic chemicals in our food, water and air our causing an epidemic of obesity … even in 6 month old infants.
No matter how lazy and gluttonous adults may have become recently, 6-month-olds can’t be lazy … they can’t even walk, let alone go to the gym.
And 6-month-olds can’t “binge” … Gerber doesn’t make corn dogs or milk chocolate truffles with rum.
The same thing is being observed in animals … hardly your stereotypical couch potatoes.
Specifically, the Proceeding of the Royal Society published a scientific paper in 2010 showing that animals – as well as humans – are getting hit with more obesity:
‘Like humans, domestic animals and fish and other wildlife are exposed to contaminants in air, soil, water, and food, and they can suffer acute and chronic health effects from such exposures. Animal sentinel systems—systems in which data on animals exposed to contaminants in the environment are regularly and systematically collected and analyzed—can be used to identify potential health hazards to other animals or humans.’
National Academy of Sciences (1991, p. 1).

From 24 distinct populations (12 subdivided into separate male and female populations), representing eight species (see §2 for inclusion criteria), over 20 000 animals were studied. Time trends for mean per cent weight change and the odds of obesity (see the electronic supplementary material for definition) were tested for the samples from each population at an age period that corresponded roughly to early-middle adulthood (35 years) in human development (see the electronic supplementary material for calculation) because on a per cent basis, in United States adults, 30–39 years is the decade of human life in which obesity has increased at least as much as any age interval during the last several decades (http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nhanes/overweight.pdf).
The animals came from a variety of different settings and environments, which reduces the possibility that all of the animals were lazy or more gluttonous than normal:
Macaques—Wisconsin. Our sample consisted of 65 (23 males, 42 females) rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta—Indian origin) from the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center (WNPRC) measured between 1971 and 2006.
Macaques—Oregon. Our sample consisted of 46 (14 males, 32 females) rhesus macaques (Macaca Mulatta—Indian strain) from the Oregon National Primate Research Center (ONRPC), measured between 1981 and 1993.
Macaques—California. Our sample consisted of 77 (30 males, 47 females) rhesus monkeys (Macaca mulatta), primarily of Indian origin from the CNPRC (California National Primate Research Center), measured between 1979 and 1992.Chimpanzees. Our sample consisted of 46 (16 males, 30 females) chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes) that had been born and lived their entire lives at the Yerkes National Primate Research Center (YNPRC). These animals were measured between the years 1985–2005.Vervets. Our sample included a total of 117 (36 males, 81 females) vervet monkeys (Chlorocebus aethiops sabaeus) living in 18 captive social groups at the UCLA-VA Vervet Research Colony, measured between the years 1990 and 2006.Marmosets. Our sample included a total of 143 (65 males, 78 females) common marmosets (Callitrichix jacchus jacchus) from the WNPRC, measured between the years 1991 and 2006.Mice and rats (laboratory). Our sample consisted of animals from 106 rat and 93 mouse studies. There was some variation in sample size between studies. For both rats and mice, the majority of studies had sample sizes of 60 males and 60 females. However, some studies had fewer (i.e. 50, 49, etc.) or more (i.e. 70) animals. In calculating our sample size, we decided to use a conservative estimate of 50 animals per study. Body weights for only untreated control mice and rats used in National Toxicology Programme (NTP) studies between the years of 1982 and 2005 were analysed.Domestic dogs and cats. Our sample of dogs included a total of 2806 (1366 males, 1440 females) animals measured between the years of 1990 and 2002. Our sample of cats included a total of 574 (265 males, 309 females) animals, measured between the years of 1989 to 2001.Feral rats. Our sample consisted of 6115 (2886 males, 3229 females) wild Norway rats (Rattus norvegicus) that were captured in the central alleys of high-density residential neighbourhoods using single-capture live traps, while rural rat populations were sampled from parklands and agricultural areas in areas surrounding the city [12,13], between the years 1948 and 2006.
The results showed across-the-board increases in obesity:
For per cent weight change, 24 out of 24 time trends were positive (i.e. increasing). The probability of all out of 24 independent trend estimates being in the same direction by chance is 1.2 × 10−7. For the odds of obesity, 23 out of 24 cases were positive (p = 3.0 × 10−6; table 1 and figure 1). When we combine males and females of each species into a single analysis, we find that in all 12 populations, per cent weight change and odds of obesity time trends were positive (p = 4.9 × 10−5, for 12 out of 12 in the same direction). Given these overwhelmingly significant results at the ensemble or meta-analytical level, we describe the results below for samples from each individual population focusing on the magnitude of the coefficients. Standard errors, confidence intervals and p-values are shown in table 1 and figure 1.
The study concluded that animals are gaining weight, even though they are not subject to the same factors normally blamed for the human obesity epidemic:
Our findings reveal that large and sustained population increases in body weights can occur in mammalian populations, just as they have occurred among human populations, even in the absence of those factors that are typically conceived of as the primary determinants of the human obesity epidemic via their influence on diet (e.g. access to vending machines) and physical activity (e.g. less physical education classes in schools). Though results were not statistically significant in every population (11 out of 24 are statistically significant for per cent increase in weight per decade, and 7 out of 24 are statistically significant for odds of obesity), viewed as an ensemble, the fact that nearly all independent time-trend coefficients were in the positive direction for both weight gain and for the odds of obesity, is overwhelmingly statistically significant.
That large population level changes in body weight distributions of mammalian populations can occur even when those populations are neither under obvious selection by predation nor are living with or among humans has been documented [15]. The particular upward trend we have observed towards obesity in multiple datasets of non-human animals has been suggested by anecdotal evidence for some time. A 2008 news report indicated that ‘trends in pet insurance are mirroring human healthcare. Obesity… is a growing problem for dogs and cats… (and 2007) saw a 19 per cent increase in claims related to obesity’ (http://www.petfirsthealthcare.com/2008/02/07/petfirst-pet-insurance-to-be-more-popular-in-2008/). According to a recent review by German [16], ‘Most investigators agree that, as in humans, the incidence of obesity in the pet population is increasing’. Despite this strong sentiment that obesity rates are increasing in pets (note that the United States Food and Drug Administration recently approved the first drug to treat obesity in dogs; Food and Drug Administration, 2007), we were unable to find previously published data actually showing this increase.
Others reported that 19 per cent of horses in a large cohort were obese, even among largely pasture-fed animals. Although a direct comparison with a similarly sampled earlier cohort was not available, the investigators remarked that the levels were higher than a 5 per cent rate observed in an earlier study [17]. Similarly, an increase in body weights was observed among rats used in carcinogenicity studies in France between 1979 and 1991, despite similar husbandry conditions [18]. The authors attributed the increase to the introduction of animals of the same substrain but raised under specific pathogen-free conditions, reinforcing the perspective that the presence of viral or other microbial pathogens [19,20] may affect body weight in populations either positively or negatively, depending on the pathogen. It is also noteworthy that the obesity epidemic has also occurred among children of six months of age and under [21], an age group for which explanations involving food marketing, less physical education is schools, and more labour-saving devices seem questionable.
The authors raise numerous possible explanations, including hormone-disrupting chemicals:
One set of putative contributors to the human obesity epidemic is the collection of endocrine-disrupting chemicals (endocrine-disruptors), widely present in the environment [24].
Exactly.

As always GW, I appreciate your hard work and sharing.
Thanks ...
This is an old story and I hope that we can remain empathic to one another and not become desensitized.
Contaminates and GMO food is not good for you not only can mutate you but your offspring. Once contaminates are in the air, water and soil, you will have contaminated food growing in those areas for generations to come. There is a good case study on the Bikini Islands where nuclear bomb testing was done over 50 ys ago. Today if you go there it is a beautiful paradise and find very little radiation until you dig into the plant life, especially edible plants and the animals/fish that live off them.
Most contaminates or pollutants like Flourine attack your thyroid gland (metabolism). Make you docile and compliant. Combat the effects by not being mineral deficient. Iodine, Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc are the main ones for the Thyroid. Look at your periodic table and how the elements line up and you’ll get the picture.
Linus Pauling Institute is a great resource on necessary nutrients. http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/infocenter/
Oxygen deprivation is huge. All cells that are diabetic or cancerous turn that way through lack of oxygen no matter how they got there.
If you are in a high carbon dioxide environment your body will be 5 – 10% more hungry than if not.
I grow my own food in enclosed environments. A mix of permafarming and aquaponics. We sterilize all water and air in and out. Reset it and add a mix of minerals. We also supplement oxygen levels in the water and the air, along with H2O2.
Keep up the fight George Washington!

Why are so many kids born with Autism?
Someone in my family deals with this and it is very difficult.
There has to be a reason for it.
vaccines, mercury in the vaccines
If memory serves, 1 gram of mercury found in a one acre lake is enough for the EPA to declare it polluted. Yet to this day you can walk into the dentist's office with tooth decay and they will stuff it in your mouth. To declare that mercury is hazardous would open the door for millions and millions of lawsuits. Doesn't make any sense that you get in big trouble throwing an old thermostat in the dump (mercury switch t-stats have been banned - too hazardous) but it is safe to permanently affix it in one's mouth.
Do remember what they shove in your mouth is an alloy of mercury (an amalgam), not mercury itself, otherwise the mercury will be running down your throat.
What is important is the resultant vapour pressure and dissolution rates of mercury from this alloy that may lead to poisoning.
Vaccines, probably. Mercury, not so sure, but it doesn't matter, they're just a component of the vaccines.
Again, try browsing www.mercola.com. You might find some leads on autism treatment.
One thing of interest: autism is a relatively new diagnosis. First described about the time of the first mass vaccination campaigns, as it happens. Coincidence my ass. As for the idea that "it was around, but no one realized it", try selling that one to anyone involved with an autistic child.
Reply to myself. Sorry.

Article of interest to autism treatment.
No advertising here on my part, it's just well-researched and intelligent advice.
Vaccines.
No vaccines=no autism. Despite what the Pharmaceutical "studies" show, countries that dont vaccinate dont have this problem. Homeschooled kids, no autism.
Toxic mercury just isnt good for anyone. Period. You asked
Autism is a pre-existing trigger that is pulled by an environmental finger. It is traditionally the total enzyme kill in the victims intestinal tract when subject to a anti-viral cocktail at an early age, from which the subject never recovers and slides into autism as the gross imbalance in human chemistry at a key time in early childhood when the brain is most vulnerable to environmental insults. You might notice that the intestinal issues in autistic children is something that stays with them then for the rest of their lives. I have a nephew so afflicted and I've developed an awareness of what its all about. This is what I think is so obvious that a Harvard man can't find its handle. No surprise here.
Andrew Wakefield went looking for that trigger and was crucified:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_czhdiEfgUw
No need to watch of course since he has already been "discredited". But.....if only out of morbid curiosity here is his rebuttal to the BMJ allegations of "fraud" which is, in my odd little mind, far more credible than the allegations themselves once one makes it past the cognitive roadblock of "discredited"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67U0_SUt5NM
I recall the rebuttal was run in Lancet. Probably not as credible as youtube, but....
Wakefield, I also recall, showed the link between the measles vaccine, the gut, and autism. His work was not well received in certain circles. No surprises as to the financial ties of those certain circles.
I'm sorry your family is dealing with autism.
Omega 3 fish oil and probiotics might help a little.
Google it :)
Good suggestions, GW -- drrons.com and mercola.com are good sources for those items, among others.
Some prefer Krill Oil now, instead of fish -- Mercola explains it well.
Recent book, Paleo Body Paleo Mind is a good survey of current health science in these areas.
Also, blessedherbs.com is the grandad of the full colon/body cleanse movement, 27 yrs in business.
I can vouch for their great value in revitalizing the digestive system, and the immune system that 70% operates from there.
Cleanses are over-marketed now, and most are limited -- these folks are the real thing -- removes the toxins, flushes the (normally) overworked liver and kidneys, and generally frees the body to heal itself, and then supplements like probiotics build on that; plus you get more out of them when the immune system is not fighting a war in its own headquarters, so to speak.

Hey Tamboo -- thanks for these links -- very helpful, will read into them more -- coupla quick comments:
On Iodine, maybe look at the www.theseaweedguy.com Maine Seaweed for Iodine, natural source, good ppl, I have some, put it in with soups, etc
On Bentonite Clay, the www.blessedherbs.com ppl use it in their Colon Cleanse -- part of why it has worked so well for me
Sugar and Livestrong -- yeah, "Cancer Loves Sugar" and it's not a Joanie Loves Chachee kind of thing -- even so, some ppl wonder why so much sugar is the FRS chewables product that Livestrong endorses -- I like it anyway, but I gotta watch the sugar
Try Mercola's Cocoa Cassava energy bar with natural sweetener -- delicious I like em
Alkalize for health -- will look into that, thanks -- Kelley was great, Gonzales his protege still treating ppl quietly, has cured multiple pancreatic cancer patients but could not get to Steve Jobs, alas...Suzanne Somers dedicated a chapter of her recent book on health/cancer to Gonzales who has cured her of it, plus a bunch of others..
Thanks again, tamboo
I appreciate the kind thoughts.
It isn't easy trying to offer my brother advice on this because he works so very hard taking care of his child. Constant patience, love, and very costly therapy. We offer to watch him so they can take a break but they don't take us up on it because they know how difficult the child can be. At times he must be physically restrained to prevent injury to himself or others.
I've often been suspicious of themerisol, the controversial preservative found in many vaccines.
Please excuse me because I didn't mean to side-track the OP; but there has to be something environmental to cause this.
I am a true believer in the thoughts held by Dr. Royal Raymond Rife. All illness is caused by either a living pathogen (virus or bacteria with some being pleomorphic) OR by a harmful substance introduced into the body by some means that does not belong there.
Studying Rife was the most fascinating thing I have done in my life. I actually built a coordinative resonance device fashioned after his, and succesfully used it to devitalize borrelia burgdorferi (Lyme Disease).
This after over ten thousand dollars of useless antibiotic treatments.
A family dealing with autism is an exercise in trying to get through each moment as best they can.
There's a book written by a UCLA pediatrician that makes tremendous sense to me. It's "The Myth of Autism, How A Misunderstood Epidemic Is Destroying Our Children", by Dr. Michael J. Goldberg.
Dr. Goldberg's premise is that autism is a chronic viral infection, that's it's a communicable illness that becomes a chronic brain infection. He's found a way to diagnose it via SPECT scans (single photon emission computerized tomography), nuclear medicine scans that measure the oxygen metabolism of a given tissue -- so it looks at how well a given area is being perfused, how well it is working, as opposed to an MRI which only tells you how a particular part of the body looks on the inside. He also uses viral titers and other blood tests, a comprehensive history and physical, etc. There's a lot about the diagnostic process in the book.
The second important point is that he loops autism with ADHD and chronic fatigue immune disorder (CFIDS) and suggests that the presentation depends on the age of the patient: Infant or toddler = autism; young child up to teen = ADHD; adult = CFIDS. The reason for this is that in his practice, he sees a kid with autism (or siblings with autism), a sibling with ADHD and a parent with CFIDS. As the multiples of these clusters kept occurring, it suggested to him an infectious disease process. Sure enough, they tested positive, using his diagnostic criteria. (Apparently, ADD doesn't present with abnormal SPECT findings so it's not part of his equation.)
Thirdly, and the most important, he's finding some success in treatment with antivirals, along with diet modification (because there is some gut issue that I don't understand), antifungals (again, I don't understand that) and managing allergies and whatever other problems the individual patient has.
Anyone connected to autism might find this a really useful book to read, and if you have a compliant physician, you could replicate the same sort of diagnostic tests and treatment regimen. He has everything pretty much spelled out. Dr. Goldberg doesn't promise everything will be fixed (since these are chronic viral infections that won't be eradicated) but he does offer some improvement and it's worth a read.
Learn more about SPECT scans here: http://brighamrad.harvard.edu/education/online/BrainSPECT/Contents.html (stay away from commercial sites, they tend to offer great diagnostic promises and are generally linked to hyperbaric oxygen sales pitches.
Thank you Jena.
I have to tread very lightly offering suggestions to those with an autistic child. These folks (at least in my brother's case) spend their entire lives focused on this.
No matter how well intentioned one might be, you (I) have to be very careful making suggestions lest I offend them; something I do not wish to do.
I've had a SPECT scan myself but not for Autism. I am a bit of a lab rat because I was electrocuted. Life is funny sometimes. I moved to Florida for the weather and got struck by lightning...lol. Truly I believe I've seen things that are not meant to be seen, nor can they be explained or described.
FYI...no magical powers resulted from the incident. I could tell a story about how a group prayer was said for me at the very time I was listening to the medical people contemplating amputating my legs while the helivac was warming up...I learned of the prayer later and it coincided with a sudden feeling I had of complete calm. I knew my legs were not going to be amputated and that I would not die. I have some deep scars that will never go away but I did not die. I think the witnesses were harmed more than I as there lives have been changed permanently.
Silly me, I'm rambling.
Interesting, chunga. There is much that cannot be explained on this plane of experience. Glad you survived the lightning and are still all in one piece. It's an awful lot of voltage for the body's electrical system to stand. It does provide perspective of a sort though, doesn't it?
You're right, people caught up in a long-term medical fight get very focused and it's hard to make suggestions, even when you have the best intentions. Sometimes it takes everything they have to keep up with the fight of daily life.
I don't think it is voltage it is frequency generation like that for stereo speakers etc. Look up royal rife and something like cancer.
I almost tried it on my 3 year old dog who had lymphoma, but she died before I could get to the rife guru.
I think Jena was talking about lightning. Estimates vary, but one fairly common figure is 50 million to a billion volts for a cloud to ground strike.
Don't be fooled into thinking that if you don't hear thunder that you are safe. It wasn't raining or even very cloudy on my fun little day.
Here are a few links on Rife.
The Royal Rife Story

Naturally, there are detractors, as well as many people hawking products so it's up to the reader to draw their own conclusions.
Exactly, thanks chunga. Some lightning strikes leave benign looking exit burns, others give an indication of the power involved, leaving a deep fourth degree burn. Occasionally the person's capillaries burst over a significant region leaving a red treelike pattern that is called a Lichtenberg figure. I've only seen that once. (I guess it's one way that coroners identify people who have died from lightning strikes because many with this rash don't survive the strike.)
Info and image here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lichtenberg_figure
that's just. . . wow.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Rear_view_of_a_lightning-strike_surviv...
a while back I did a lot of research on the archetype of being struck by lightning, as it was an intensely recurring dream for me from an early age, the dream had the same patterns to it, always ending with being aware of "my death" - we're told one always wakes up before dying in a dream, and this was not the case in mine, so it interested me. . . in some cultures there is a "shamanic calling" associated with these types of dreams, or even the direct experience of being struck. . .
but I'd not heard or read of the Lichtenberg figure before, thanks for the link! and to Chunga for links to Dr. Rife - very interested to read.
peace to you both.
Yikes! I'm glad don't have anything like that.
All I've got are lacerations that were stitched back together. One of the after effects I hate most is what they're calling "heightened startle response".
It's like when somebody sneaks up and taps you on the shoulder and you get startled. The degrees of startle you've ever had represent your scope.
My "peak startle" was the lightning because it really snuck up on me pretty good; and since then I've been very hard to sneak up on.
Same for my crew. I learned later that although they all had phones to call 911 it took a while to find someone who could hear or talk.
Don't mess with lightning. If you live (most people do) it's something you're not likely to ever forget; nor ever entirely remember.
I too know families affected by autism. It's got to be environmental.
My son was born with a condition linked to pthalates.
Check out a docu called "Under Our Skin", it's an eye-opener on Lyme. Drs. have been run out of practice & sued for treating it properly. Insurance companies will only treat it for 2-4 weeks. Decided by a panel of 9 physicians. Universities have a hammer lock on vaccines & genetics. Links to Parkinson's & Alzhiemers.
The whole mess is by design. Bank on it.
Chunga thanks for the tip on Dr Royal Raymond Rife -- will research him further -- so many struggling with these kinds of things -- good answers are emerging it helps when folks share what they are learning
Rife was a doctor back in the '30s. He was also an electrical engineer, bacteriologist, and optical engineer.
He designed and built many microscopes that allowed him to observe organisms while bombarding them electronically with his frequency instruments.
An electron microscope would not work because of the heat it generates which instantly kills the pathogen under observation. Once he determined and applied the frequency that oscillated the pathogen in such a fashion as to cause it to assume a shape that it could not possibly assume, the pathogen was "devitalized". These particles of devitalized pathogens lead to the next step in treatment for the patient. Lots and lots of clean water, as removal of said would involve the lymph system (notice how when you are sick your glands are swollen). This is called the Jarisch Herxheimer reaction and clean water aids in this removal process.
It is in use commercially in large breweries where it is desirable to devitalize one strand of yeast but not another. This form of treatment is widely available in Europe. Also in Africa, where people afflicted with Malaria simply sit inside a mobile vehicle and are exposed to the specific frequency (Rife called it "Mortal Oscillation Rate") that devitalizes that particular pathogen painlessly and at very little cost.
Rife's story is very sad because his life's goal was to cure cancer, and he believed he did so and offered it to the world free of charge and was attacked by the AMA. He died in his eighties...a penniless drunk. His "Univeral Microscope" is in the Smithsonian Institute but parts were stolen so it does not function. While he was brilliant in many regards; he was a very poor business man because he was not motivated by profit and in fact found it to be a nuisance.
A super over-simplification of his methodology is analagous to an opera singer hitting a certain note (frequency) and shattering a glass but nothing else, hence the term "coordinative resonance".
The device I made is very reactive and requires a fairly thorough understanding of electrical theory (inductance, capacitance, etc.) and requires an analog function generator capable of sine and square wave output as well as a vaiety of other instruments. I made a program that calculate various frequencies and diagrams to assemble such a thing. I think if you search my screen name you can find it. We no longer deal with Lyme Disease so my machine sits in the closet.
(sorry again George....now I am way off topic)
That interests me Chunga. Can't find it with Google. Can you give me more of a clue?
Cheers
sounds like the same story for Dr. Max Gerson, nutrition, cancer, and the AMA
Chunga, has your family looked at any of the work with L-Carnosine and Autism? There's a little controversy but it seems to hold promise
http://www.autismcoach.com/articles.asp?id=266
excellent post chunga, thank you for the information - will research Dr. Rife's story (not off topic at all).
best wishes!
To all; thanks for the links in re: Autism. In four hours I must be ready for work.
Tomorrow, I'll follow them through and also find my schematic for those that might be interested in non-contact coordinative resonance devices. It was in the design phase and very rudimentary but gave one an idea as to how to "cancel" the voltage precisely on both sides of the coil circuit. That is what causes the coil to resonate. For this design, once given the desired frequency (Mortal Oscillaton Rate), the inductance (in millihenries) of the the coil must be confirmed in order to calculate a capacitor array that achieves proper capacitance (in microfarads). If the circuit is driven at 15 amperes (2 ohms works best) the gauss value can be mathematically extrapolated. I added a balanced resistor set to the circuit to increase run time because you're essentially driving a short circuit. This is something a 2000 watt amplifier is not designed to do; so the closer your calculations are the better.
The equipment overheats rapidly.
Might sound complicated but if I can do it anyone can with determination. It is also possible to create capacitance combinations with the use of switches eliminating the need to handle industrial capacitors. The same thing can be done with a plasma tube, I chose this method because materials are more easily obtainable. Keep in mind it is perfectly legal to treat yourself, but you can't legally treat anyone else unless you are a Doctor.
This is not medical advice.
6' duck
I,ve seen great results with O3 water, ozonized water that is, in refernce to Lupus. Oxygen is a very aggressive antioxidant that kills all anaerobic germs. bacteria and viruses. you might check into Glutathione. check www.nancybanksmd.com, heck check into anything. When big pharma are not doing their proper research, we have to do it. try everything wishing you well.
"Oxygen is a very aggressive antioxidant." please explain
George, the obesity among humans including babies is occurring due to Sugar, or more specifically High fructose corn sugar. They even add sugar to baby foods , sugar is the main reason of Obesity, but animals, I don't know, there must be other factors.
Good point, sugar is definitely an element. THe FDA actually approved recent increases in the amount of sugar in our diet! And corn sugar is in everything. Grains get converted to sugar as well and we eat much more than we were ever evolved to.
with regard the "animals" - they're being fed the GMO-corn that is used to make HFCS.
whether it's feedlot meat animals or pets via "corn gluten" in their food - look at the labels, it's in EVERYTHING now. . .
also GMO-soy, ubiquitous on food labels, often as "soy lecithin" which is extracted from soybeans and used as an emulsifier or binding agent. . . seriously, it's in the majority of supermarket foods, and certainly baked goods. . .
That and people are frowned upon for breast feeding, there is no income stream in feeding your baby naturally. Gotta hook them on HFCS before they can get active and rebel.
Does this mean Newt is going to add another chin before the elections?
Am I the only one who noticed that the vast majority of the animals studied are cared for and fed by humans? Babies are fed by humans, too, and no, they can't reach for another helping of mashed potatoes, but they are fed formula in many cases -- I didn't notices if that was accounted for in the study.
Perhaps the human element is the mysterious environmental factor.
Feral rats, bitchez ...
Feral rats feed on human leftovers.
For my money GMO affects livers and kidneys ... Why wouldn't those changes spread globally?
Here's a good study of GMO corn done in 2011. It follows the same protocols that Monsanto used for FDA GMO approval...with different results.
http://www.biolsci.org/v05p0706.htm
"...several parameters indicate increases in circulating glucose and triglyceride levels, with liver function parameters disrupted together with a slight increase in total body weight [5]. This physiological state is indicative of a pre-diabetic profile."
"Furthermore, any side effect linked to the GM event will be unique in each case as the site of transgene insertion and the spectrum of genome wide mutations will differ between the three modified maize types. In conclusion, our data presented here strongly recommend that additional long-term (up to 2 years) animal feeding studies be performed in at least three species, preferably also multi-generational, to provide true scientifically valid data on the acute and chronic toxic effects of GM crops, feed and foods. Our analysis highlights that the kidneys and liver as particularly important on which to focus such research as there was a clear negative impact on the function of these organs in rats consuming GM maize varieties for just 90 days."
Whoa ... great find, thanks!!
