Follow al-Gore's example (its really going to be all right!)

bugs_'s picture

Did you see the news that al-Gore purchased a $9M seaside mansion on the California coast?  Here is a great opportunity for us to look through the fog of his "watermelon" rhetoric and glimpse the heartfelt perceptions of one of our most brilliant politicians!  There is just so much here to dig into.

First lets talk about California real estate.  We all "know" that things are bad and likely to get worse.  We all "know" that the real estate market is softest at the high end.  Yet here is al-Gore plunking down $9M greenbacks on a big California house.  Al-Gore has caught the falling knife here.  Has he marked THE BOTTOM of the California real estate market for us?

Accept that al-Gore (the wise) is bullish on California real estate at heart!

Next we need to consider the issue of ocean front property.  We all have been told that the sea level is going to rise or fall.  We all have been told the climate will become more dangerous particularly along the coastlines. Yet here is al-Gore plunking down $9M greenbacks on an ocean side house.  Now I must concede that the house is on a bluff so that a rising sea level might not be as great a concern.   Still we must reconsider our fear that the coasts will be ravaged.

Accept the stunning implication that al-Gore (the visionary) is a Steady Stater at heart!

Thirdly this doesn't look like a redoubt to me.  It is in a nice area where many cannibals are sure to head when THE END comes.  How are we to reconcile the need for urgent action to save the world with an apparently positive move to purchase an undefendable luxury estate?  He has not purchased an end-of-days fortress but rather a pleasure palace.

Accept that al-Gore (the doomer) must be an optimist at heart!

Lastly consider that this is a purchase in the good old USA.  He didn't purchase a hideaway in Peru and decide to be an expat in a non-extradition foreign land.

Accept that al-Gore (the globalist) is a believer in the future of the USA at heart!

In conclusion remember that modern carpetbaggers ride in their jets and their armored limos and tell us to reduce the footprint of our lives.  At heart they aren't worried about the planet and maybe neither should you.  Don't let them con you into having planet sized worries.  Focus on your own worries but try to be more optimistic at heart like al-Gore!  This was fun wasn't it?

Thanks ZeroHedge!

You are totally right, benb.  Yet up to this moment in history, all it seems to have earned you is a second green from me and this Mr. Show link.

Although this emotional day seems to be coming to an end, it is far from over.  An undercurrent of rage has reached its boiling point, suggesting that even the most benign incident could touch off a full-scale riot.

Looks like your comment and mine are going down in history's "dustbin of complaints" unless we find another way to go about things.

benb's picture

Funny video! Thanks. Jim Carrey (I believe) on Problem, Reaction, Solution.

Vic Vinegar's picture

True.  As simple as it is, I just don't believe the general public has the ability to move past P/R/S.

Call it Cognitive Dissonance on a grand scale.  I guess that guy really did choose a good userid, as you did, too.

Vic Vinegar's picture

I gotta go so it's time to junk myself and ask this:

Why is this site something other than a place for you to complain about the world and post Katy Perry videos?

No trollling but I must ask - what is going to change based on what you type here?  What should we do differently?

benb's picture

Complaining, sharing, or ventilating? We do go back and forth. That video with 20 million views attempts to cover the horror with a thin soothing film of fantasy. Maybe the contributor section could use a really hard hitting thread.

You have to hand it to him. Gore's one hell of a con man.

I think you need to do a little more homework, regarding Gore's ability to predict the bottom of the market...

Gore bought the property in 2009... according to a May 2010 USA Today Article.....

I hate it when ZH post articles that haven't been even superficially fact checked....  Tyler this really hurts you.....

Great pictures of it on the Real Estalker site dated may 10,2010.

would have pasted the web address but couldn't get that to work tonight..

Gore is an idiot.

Stax Edwards's picture

What is wrong with buying a house you like when you want it?  Bugs is a hater, lol!

hardcleareye's picture

There is nothing wrong with people buying a house that they like and can afford.

The issue is the hypocrisy of Gore's personal life style choices and what he "preaches" should be other people's life style choices,,,

IF you are going to talk the talk you had damn well better walk the walk!

Cathartes Aura's picture

y'know, maybe he bought it as a "parting gift" for Tipper. . .

In early June 2010, shortly after purchasing a new home,[29] the Gores announced in an e-mail to friends that after "long and careful consideration," they had made a mutual decision to separate.[1]

Yes, and in case anyone has forgotten, behold the Bio-Solar One, aka B.S. One - Big Al's 100FT earth-friendly houseboat.

moonstears's picture

Al's one sharp cookie, and an expert on all things green. See:

(P.S...You KNOW that when he leaves a meeting his "power elite" peers snicker and make jokes!)

Richard Whitney's picture

A tribute to his hipocrisy. Isn't global warming supposed to raise sea levels around the world to dangerous levels? Wouldn't a seaside mansion be exactly where you wouldn't want to be investing? Now that we know that Al doesn't believe the fraud any longer, the question is: just who is left believing this passe ideology?

krispkritter's picture

Unfortunately for me, friends and even family members. I think they're still pissed about that Bush-Gore thingy and do the 'Na-na-na-na' thing when you start asking them to explain away his fraudulent science and behind-the-scenes investment scam. The only 'green' Gore was ever interested in was money, it had nothing to do with saving the planet. The only world he cared about was the one that revolved around him.

krispkritter's picture

I guess we have a pussy Liberal, Al Gore-Loving, POS junker on hand...I'm sorry, I meant an AG Fanboi...

Did you know that all Al's bathrobes are monogrammed AGW ?

yes, i heard

here's an article about this from two years ago [may 2, 2010]

Al Gore increases his carbon footprint, buys house in ritzy Santa Barbara neighborhood

no, it wasn't the bottom in CA real estate...

Vic Vinegar's picture

This is why the chemtrail consipracy is bullshit.  'Cuz if "they" chemtrail over RobotTrader's and slewie's homes, then Al Gore gets it, too.  Are they really going to do that to a "NWO globalist"?

Who cares what house the dude buys?  It's far more interesting to see how Al Gore gets a massage.  LOL

lasvegaspersona's picture

interesting both Madarin and Thai it means the same thing....hand job...check Rosetta Stone if u don't believe..

Cathartes Aura's picture

chemtrails happen globally dude, whether you "believe" in them or not. . . maybe that's why the uber-wealthy string-pullers have numerous residences globally, and spend the majority of their time either in-doors (meetings, summits), or in-flight. . .

Cathartes Aura's picture

sooo many "comments" spring to mind, but I'll leave it at "thanks for that picture" Miss E - worth a thousand words!

Vic Vinegar's picture

They are real for sure.  I'm just more inclined to call them contrails until I see evidence otherwise.

Cathartes Aura's picture

"con-trails" eh?  ha.

the evidence exists, doesn't take very long to search out, and not a lot of time to read - but one's mind needs to be open to the possiblity of their existence.

particle, wave, etc.

Vic Vinegar's picture

My mind is very open to it.  And perhaps you are correct.  It's certainly possible that if the NWO is a "culture of death" Al Gore has to suck down the chemtrail fumes just as Bill Clinton drinks his aspartame-laden Diet Coke.  I understand the argument that "they gotta get fuked too for serving this system".  I'm just not totally on board with that theory.

Are the health issues associated with these things biproducts of man's love of science while failing to appreciate the risk about things he does not understand, or was it intentional?  It's quite debatable.

Cathartes Aura's picture

pretty much everything is up for "debate" nowadays, just need to find someone to take the other "side" of each argument.

and I agree that it's not an easy concept to wrap one's mind around, willingly destroying the environment, and the people who depend on it to live - I don't have answers to the "why" beyond accepting that "they" all have beliefs too, and some of them conflict with others. . .

why would Monsanto GMO seeds so that they can patent them and profit, if they eventually are toxic to humans and animals?  why would DowChem seek to spray the components of Agent Orange (2, 4-D) on US crops?  why are there massive tree die offs in the West? I don't have the answers, but I smell the co-ordinated attack on the natural world, humans included (whether they want to admit they're a part of nature or not).  why do they keep funding "research" for "super bugs" that include strains of the last global flu pandemic?

why are they considering nuclear powered drones FFS?

they're insane, and I'm sure they have their reasons/excuses/plans.

Element's picture

they're insane, and I'm sure they have their reasons/excuses/plans.

And they can explain their mad plans in such a way, and with such conviction, that it's you who appears to be the crazy, if you disagree.

US Sec Def. Robert McNamara took great pains to warn modern humanity that "Rationality will not save us".  By which he meant that if you have faith that rationality will get us through, well unfortunately it's the aggregate of global rational actions that is in the process of assuredly burying us.

From experience, McNamara developed a terminally bleak view of rationality, as used amd expressed in warfare, and big-power diplomacy, and especially as a tool to defuse great power stand-offs.

Basically he felt that if we don't almost immediately rein-in weapons and especially the handful of people that would use of them, as a rational response in an 'emergency', then they would make a completely rational and reasonable series of decisions that assuredly would shit-can the whole of humanity and all of modern civilisation. He felt that arms control had to be combined with the elimination the special powers of decree of a President, to launch weapons that no one man should ever be permitted the authority to do to humanity.

The nuclear-powered drone is yet another example of the rationalising process.

Vic Vinegar's picture

Totally agree.  Great points by you.

And whether you or I choose to look through the lens of: a) the West is dying b/c Monsanto's "seeds of evil" were designed to reduce fertility or b) the West is dying b/c crackas are too smart to fuck without contraception (and BTW Monsato has seeds that are designed not to last more than one year), it's kinda irrelevant...

...scoreboard sez that the population in the West is going down and Monsanto is growing stronger.

Wait - did we go off-topic?  I thought this was this an article about Al Gore's house.  LOL

Best wishes to you, CA

the wealthy hedge - they always have multiple global properties, I doubt this is Gore's sole residence.  who knows the next uninhabitable space globally?

whether for tax dodging purposes, or "citizen" ship issues, or just seasonal flitting about, nothing to see here, tho' I'm sure it's a great place to vent on teh Al G.

Al Gore is Goldman Sucks poster child? figures

nmewn's picture

Gore is the poster boy for the limousine "liberals".

He creates a larger "carbon footprint" in one year than you or I will create in our entire lifetimes as he "flits about" the planet telling the small people how to live, what to eat, where to live and what to think & say.

Tied at the hip to Goldman Sachs and the failed carbon credit market (a mass ponzi extraction) deserves to be his final middle finger to the gullible & naive sheep he helped shear.

Cathartes Aura's picture

certainly nothing in your post for me to disagree with, sir!

given the stats coming out of So.Cal. with regards Fuku- fallout, one can only wish Gore a "fixed abode."

Al Gore is out to save the world, really he is, really....

Element's picture

Well, he's going to taco-bell to get a gut full then pack it down with a gallon of sarsaparilla to inspire him to shit-out an new and improved (NWO-approved) internet, then pretend he just saved the world ... again.

vmromk's picture

I'm sure he really put some blood, sweat and tears into "acquiring" that $9 million.

Hey Gore, FUCK YOU and Bernanke.

vast-dom's picture

how many Solyndra solar panels came with that house?

Zero Govt's picture

he'd need solar panels to cover California for his glutoneous house use.. his last one consumed 13 times the average US households

"Don't do as i do, do as i preech, con, lie and bullshit" Gore has shot himself in the foot so many times it probably keeps a whole Nike factory busy all year ..and another factory just to shoe his equally over-sized carbon footprint

I think you got a down tick because someone may have been disapointed, as I was, with how incomplete your 'FUCK YOU" list was. ;)
