The Twelve Steps
The Twelve Steps
- We came to understand that our government is powerless over its spending - that our nation's debt had become unmanageable.
- We came to believe that a power greater than our fiat currency could restore us to sanity.
- We made a decision to turn our savings and our investments over to the care of gold, as we understand gold to be a physical asset - not a paper promise.
- We made a searching and fearless inventory of our wealth.
- We converted to gold, to Krugerrands, and to Maple Leafs, the fiat paper assets of our wealth, thus eliminating our counterparties.
- We were entirely ready to have gold remove all risk of default.
- We humbly asked the coin dealer to reduce our exposure to The Inflation Tax.
- We made a list of those politicians that expose us to The Inflation Tax, and became willing to work against them all.
- We gave direct support to Libertarians whenever possible, except when no Libertarian is on the ballot, and then we voted against the incumbent.
- We continued to create wealth through our own industry, and then we converted it to gold, and promptly buried it.
- We sought through silver coins to increase our contact with precious metal, as we understand silver to be a physical asset - not a paper promise, paying for as many day-to-day transactions with silver as possible, using our credit card (not debit) for what was not, and paying off the entire balance each month.
- We, having had a fiscal awakening as the result of these steps, tried to carry this message to others, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

STEP THIRTEEN: Buy a BIG fucking GUN to protect said assets.
Agreed. +1 HEDGEHOG
Nothing against the AR Platform but I would recommend obtaining a good old 308 M1A (or the Norinco M305 copy .. it works fine). I just trust the simpler, easy to maintain/clean, harder hitting 308 vs the 223 rabbit gun - plus it makes a very versatile 'hammer' coming in at around 8.8 ibs, this could prove handy. Also, look at a backup bolt-action in the same calibre. A scout version with detachable mag would be my choice but any 308 bolt will do the job. The last option seems, from what I can see, a good one in a so-called blue state that will no doubt double-down on the EVIL Black looking, real scary, assault weapon, child killin', 30 round plus mag-changin', picatinny rails showing, flash suppressoringing, pistol griping, semi-auto (Machine gunning LOL!), etc. In other words the AR Platform of EVIL (from the perspective of the state worshipping progressive sheeple). Oh I forgot the AR Platform of EVIL is also clearly Raaycist.. 'cause in Detriot they can't afford them and are limited to hand guns sold to them by Whitey, NRA types... that's what I have heard anyway.
Just sayin'
Rogue
Ruger makes an excellent scout .308 that holds 10 rd. mags.
The mags, however, are on backorder.
Agree Gooch, it is well worth the outlay in my opinion and I was very happy with the whole package. Just wanting for my IER scope and QR Rings. That being said the ghost ring sights are excellent!
I found that finding the right IER scope was the issue, not much choice, went with the Leatherman 2-7 X 32. The Leupold FX-II Scout is good but it's fixed at X 2.5 and that was a little limiting for my needs. Plus the leatherman is much more reasonable.
Mags are bloody expensive but they are top quality :)
Nay, that's step ZERO.
That makes Lucky 13 Steps. It's all good.

I'd be at least 50% in phys gold (instead of ~25% now) if I could get my wife to go along with me.
I'll give her more time -- she has gradually come up the learning curve.
But then again, gold is quickly moving up the cost curve. Explosively so, perhaps soon...
Buy her some fine gold jewelry. That seems to stimulate the female response.
Just crossed 50%. Come on over.
Zappy,
The solution is as easy as buying her dozens of bracelets, rings, watches, silver cutlery at a dealer/coin shop that treats their clients with respect (low profit margins!).
Get off your ass Zap. You win both ways, tangible assets and tangible ass.
THose who follow these steps are already and will continue to be deemed ENEMY OF THE STATE. It is therefor that I must approve and highly recommend these actions.
Step Nine is nothing less than falling off of the wagon, drunk on statism.
You either walk away, or you don't. This "state-light" BS is no more appropriate than serving light beer at an AA meeting. That's why libertarian should always be spelled with a lowercase "L."
Ideological coherence is our friend. Anything less, is but an opening for the incoherence of divide and conquer.
I think there is still time to support the ideal of a republic and democratic elections without supporting this government and a central bank. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water...yet.
Well, given my oath years ago to support the Constitution, I see it as treason, as it legitimizes the unconstitutional government implanted by the Coup of '13.
That said, I still see the document as merely the lesser of two evils, being the legitimization of the Coup of 1787.
I could go on, but eventually, it becomes clear that all are the products of violent mob rule, and thus are incompatible with human liberty.
The only valid form of peaceful government is self-government. All else is merely a madman with a gun, with the blessings of the influential mob du jour. The bigger the mob, the more dangerous the rule.
Sure, you can base your hopes on criminals, but don't be surprised that it can never work as advertised.
Personally, I could never sell out humanity in that fashion, as all I have to to is to look into the eyes of any child to realize the error of statist ways.
Don't take this wrong but I view saying that all administrations after 1787/ 1886 ./ 1913 (fill in date) are invalid as a huge copout, the easy way out. Native Americans might say any society besides theres is a usurper and therefore illegal so we all have to start somewhere. I'm not sure what all those who refuse to vote or participate in any civic activity have in mind as a functioning society but I ama glad the Founding Fathers did not have this attitude.
There is a reason every civilization has evolved government. The dynamics of large populations demand a central authority that decides things. The question all along has been resolving the role of individuals and states vs that of the federal government. Most of us would agree that a smaller role for the State would be for the best.
"I'm not sure what all those who refuse to vote or participate in any civic activity have in mind as a functioning society but I ama glad the Founding Fathers did not have this attitude."
It might be something similar to what was in Catalonia, Aragon etc. (not exactly Somalia...lol) prior to Franco and yes I'm glad our founders didn't have that attitude either.
"The question all along has been resolving the role of individuals and states vs that of the federal government. Most of us would agree that a smaller role for the" federal government "would be for the best."
Agreed.
But how do we pare it back from what it has become (to a more local role) is the question.
Are we willing to admit that, in this process, that some among us cannot or will not survive without it...that among us, some actually do desire to be dominated (and to dominate others), be told what to do and when to do it (and still others telling them what to do and when to do it)?
There has never been a shortage of humans seeking this symbiotic relationship...the dominators & the dominated.
Our great experiment in self governance may well be over precisely because of the voracious appetites of people such as these and no government or society can stand forever with them being a majority in it.
