I think with this student loan situation we are just about there. The good news is law school applications are way down. They will have to start laying people off.

William, my wife is the Asst Dean of the business school of a local state university. I keep telling her that they have a really bad problem coming at them with the student loan thing and the poor economy.

It seems that all university profs are in a state of denial and hoping that someone, something is going to make a majic wand waved over it all and it will be fixed. I am damn near banned from the dept. as I really express my non Keyensian opinions, advised that the Feds have spent $5 to get $1 increase in GDP. ect. They just look at me with that silly smile and don;t provide any response. The Econ Dept is especially dumbed down now, appears to be just marching in place, rehashing old theory.

The head of the Political Science dept Chair that is next door neighbor of my parents is just about as bad.

I sent him the "collateral murder" link a couple of summers ago, followed up a few day later for his thoughts on it. He responed that "well its war".

I am so disappointed in the academic world now, they appear to be just like my wife, just putting the time in to get to retirement and have no social concience, just looking out for their own needs and screw everybody else. These poor kids that expect something after a degree are really in for a great let down!

There are some who really don't deserve what is happening just like the rest of the sheeple, but there is another set who are perpetrating a fraud and they deserve what they get.

Talk up the Keynesianism and bullshit your way through the next dinner party and you might help your Wife get promoted to Dean; they certainly won't be putting a male in the position.

If they have any inkling that your Wife doesn't "believe" they will get rid of her, or demote her and force her to teach night classes and assign her to a committee or three.

Most academics are either completely delusional and believe the lies and infinite prosperity regardless of reality, or they know it's a big game of "Higher Affirmation" and are just playing along until they can retire.

Best of luck to your Wife at the "dream factory".
