U.S. Approved Israeli Bombing of Syria … and May Join the War at Any Moment

George Washington's picture

Israel claims it bombed a weapons convoy, while Syria claimed that a research facility was hit. Who is right?

Both.

Time reports:

Israeli warplanes struck several targets inside Syria overnight Tuesday, including a biological weapons research center that was reportedly flattened out of concern that it might fall into the hands of Islamist extremists fighting to topple the government of Syrian president Bashar Assad, Western intelligence officials tell TIME.

The irony is thick, as the U.S. is directly backing the Islamist extremists fighting to topple the Syrian government.

Time continues:

A Western intelligence official indicated to TIME that at least one to two additional targets were hit the same night, without offering details. Officials also said that Israel had a “green light” from Washington to launch yet more such strikes.

But the U.S. isn’t just an arm-chair quarterback … it may directly join in the action:

One Western intelligence official told TIME the U.S. military was poised to carry out similar airstrikes around Aleppo if rebels threaten to take sites associated with weapons of mass destruction in that region.

In the bizarro world of American and Israeli propaganda, arming Al Qaeda rebels or bombing Syrian assets does not count as “intervening” in a war:

Though no country has intervened in Syria’s civil war directly …

In diplomatic terms, surgical strikes launched in the name of preventing proliferation of weapons of mass destruction tend to be well-tolerated by the international community, especially when the attacks are not publicly acknowledged. Israel still does not officially acknowledge its secret 2007 destruction of a Syrian nuclear reactor.

“I’m not going to give any condemnation of Israel or rush into any criticism,” British foreign secretary William Hauge told the BBC on Thursday. “There may be many things about it that we don’t know, or the Arab League or Russia don’t know.”

What does this mean?

The endless war on terror has been re-branded through propaganda. There are no new wars launched by America and its allies. There are simply “kinetic actions“, and “covert operations” carried out in secret.

Postscript: The official narrative says that these endless series of wars secure our national defense and stimulate the economy.

In the real world, however, top American economists say that endless war has ruined our economy and hurt the vast majority of Americans.

And security experts – including both conservatives and liberals – agree that waging war in the Middle East weakens national security and increases terrorism. See this, this, this, this, this, this, this and this.

and May Join the War at Any Moment

WTF, the US has been arming the rebels with supplies from Libya.  Without US backing, there would be no Syrian opposition.

On Syria, Biden repeated the US demand for regime-change. He declared Syrian President Assad to be “a tyrant, hell-bent on clinging to power,” who “is no longer fit to lead the Syrian people” and “must go.” According to a report in the Times of London, the US has given Israel a green light for further air strikes on Syria following Tel Aviv’s bombing of targets in Syria last Wednesday.

The US vice president made no secret of the fact that the American-led offensive in the Middle East and North Africa is directed against Chinese influence in the region and is bound up with the Obama administration’s anti-China political and diplomatic offensive, known as the “pivot to Asia.”

CD cou;ld there ever have been a time when Cognitive Dissonance was more wide spread amoung the populace than now, mass Cd manifests itself as mental confusion as people struggle with the knowledge that things don't FEEL right, in some inexplainable way, yet they are powerless over the popular reality so they can never truly relax and many times live in total dread of the unimaginable future.

A time, of great social dysfunctionality, that, may have been, or will become, analgous to todays World, ( on some scale) could  `I believe`have been  the times of the European Witch hunts, and the extreme insanity manifested in  human behavior at that time, Cognitive Dissonance had not been discerned yet and so was unavailable to them as a tool to judge their own behavior. We now read that the food crop, most specificaly the Rye which made the flour was infected with Ergo which mimics the effects of LSD, or more correctly, LSD mimics Ergot, Ergot was first. So we see a plausable cause for their behavior., yet we cannot see the cause of our own disfunctionality so the Herd thunders to the cliff and the Lemming have an uncontrolable urge to go swimming.

When any life form acts in a manner which is anti it's survival that life form is exhibiting insanity.

It is a pleasure to be here on the forum with you CD  If anyone would correct my grammer or spelling I'd be grateful for that as well!

It seems we've finally abandoned the policy if supporting "moderates" only to find out later they were really lieing to us.  Now we are just cutting to the chase and supporting hard core islamists.  We know who they are what they are and where they are.  Not that this is any less dangerous but it does make me feel better that we are instead supporting people who are honest about what they are.

You can even take a much better bet considering the mecca of 'americanism' on Earth, the US.

-If the US does not support Israel and 'america' does not go openly against Syria, then States in the US will secede. Demonstrators and the rest...

Such is the nature of 'americans'.

He seems to be forgetting whatever trigger event that will occur to paint the Syria regime as a world-wide terrorist outfit, leaving those two states with the appearance of supporting a terrorist regime which is an enemy of the US.

People didn't want war against Japan, either, right up until the instant they did.

And how diverse was the U.S. then?  I'd take a look at where the troops actually come from, relative to what states actually benefit before getting too excited.  We are the Soviet Union, circa 1985.  Our slow grind into collapse will not be that different.  The Soviet Union no longer exists and neither will the United States.  No big thing, the former soviets already know that all economies are really local anyway.

_______________

As 'americanism' advances uniformity, the more time passes by, the less diverse the US is.

So the US american geographical was more diverse in 1776 than it was in 1850. In 1850, more diverse than in 1960. And 1960, more diverse than in 2013.

'Americanism' reduces diversity while promoting uniformity.

I think the whole thing is a mess, and the US government is now rogue, but I see no evidence in your article for your conclusions, only other articles by unconfirmed sources and general hearsay that is just other folks' opinions.   A stream of propoganda.

Yes, Isreal hit Syria, and it looks like they did this in an effort to warn Iran not to use the civil war as a cover in to further provide munitions to Hezbelloah, but that is all we really know, I think.

It is not like Obama and Nentanjahu even like each other, they do not.  That is because Nentanjahu is a patriot, he fought for his country, lost brothers fighting for his country, and Obama is a pussy who plays golf and eats ice cream every time there is a crisis.  Nentanjahu is a real person, and he has been consistent and persistent in his beliefs, which are morally based.  Obama has lost all credibility and his use of executive powers to destroy the 4th amendment, and now he is seeking to abolish the 2nd amendment, is sickening.

I voted for Obama the first time, and I am ashamed to admit I fell for his promises, which seemed academically based and sincere, only to see him to become a complete fraud, and he is destroying what is left of a once great nation.  I would choose Nentanyaju over Obama any day.

If it were not for the 45% of Americans who pay no income tax, and the 45 million who depend on food stamps, which mean they have to vote for the status quo lest they lose their lifeline, Obama would not have been reelected.  Now, I feel ashamed to call him a US President.  He sold out to the banks, to the Pentagon, to every power elite he has encountered.  Instead of being the proud educated principle based black man I thought he was, he has proved to be another Uncle Tom singing and tap dancing for coins.

Don't worry about the down votes. GW has a long line of failed predictions concerning impending US involvement.  But we have not invaded Egypt, Lebanon, Syria or Iran and odds are overwhelming that we won't.  Not only are we sick of the endless fiascos in Iraq/Afghan, finanaces are now gettting strained. I've never really worried about an Iranian nuke since I presume they know that its use would mean the decimation of their nation. Besides, their real enemy are Sunnis (think Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, etc) - not Israelis.

http://www.lifenews.com/2012/08/23/new-audio-surfaces-of-obama-defending-infanticide-in-illinois/

Listen: Barack Obama Calls Newborn Baby a "Fetus Outside of the Womb"

Obama's 10 reasons for supporting infanticide

10. Babies who survive abortions are not protected by the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution. ...

9. A ban to stop aborted babies from being shelved to die would be burdensome to mothers. ...

8. Aborting babies alive and letting them die is a doctor’s prerogative. ...

7. Anyway, doctors don’t do that. ...

6. Obama apparently read medical charts and saw no proof. ...

5. Aborting babies alive and letting them die is a religious issue. ...

4. Aborting babies alive and letting them die violates no universal principle. ...

3. Introducing legislation to stop live aborted babies from being shelved to die was a political maneuver. ...

2. Sinking Born Alive was about outmaneuvering that political maneuver. ...

1. Introducing Born Alive was a ploy to overturn Roe v. Wade. ...

He also betrayed his lack of principals by being the water boy for the eugenicist minded, Planned Parenthood, founded by the quite racist Margaret Sanger, and her cohorts. Sanger not only spoke before the KKK, but even had to tone down her eugenicist message so that racist organization would be able to accept it.

Perhaps we shouldn't be surprised, given the fact that abortionists deliberately kill more blacks every 3 days than the KKK did throughout its entire history!

Obama waxes eloquent on protecting children from gun violence by abrogating the 2nd ammendment to our Bill of Rights, while championing the right of abortionists to kill more than twice as many blacks as heart disease,  cancer, accidents, violent crimes and AIDS combined.

See also: The History of Planned Parenthood

---

In his defense, however, Obama did release a picture of himself shooting a gun, showing that he's a sportman after all.
