His realtively short stint in private employment was to lead the biggest beneficiary of "privitazation" of the military and other govenment agencies as CEO -- Haliburton, and it's subsidiary, KBR. Cheney should be hanged for high treason. When history is written, his finger prints will be all over the decline of Ameria. I know. There are just as many pompous ignoramuses outside the US as in its major cities, who don't know what they think they know. That they look down on those who live in other parts of the US does nothing but expose their own intellectual inferiority.

The date on the memo points to a rather "confused" period following 9/11, more problematic for any defenders of the US government would be documentation from the latter half of 2002 and early 2003 when the plan was in place (or at least better delineated) and yet the same obstacles & facts existed...

The "educated" and informed as well as the average guy on the street - from what I've seen outside(and inside) the US - thinks the govt should have more control of things. Only college educated americans think foreigners are intellectually superior. North Carolinians aren't that ignorant. Ok, in Charlotte and Raleigh maybe; but I'm getting redundant.

For a successful prosecution, the provision of "aiding and abetting" must be considered alongside the crime itself, although a defendant can be found guilty of aiding and abetting an offense even if the principal is found not guilty of the crime itself.
In all cases of aiding and abetting, it must be shown a crime has been committed, but not necessarily who committed it.
It is only necessary to show that the defendant has wilfully associated himself with the crime committed, that he does, through his own act or omission, as he would do if he wished for a criminal venture to succeed.
Under this law, anyone who aids or abets a crime may be charged directly with the crime, as if the charged had carried out the act himself.

This story strikes me almost as quaint in the context of government's crimes today. I know that this story is on the same sinister trajectory as the NDAA, but it still makes me a bit nostalgic for the good old days of 2003.
