For sure, you could still win, but you are kind of late to the game for this free Platinum, you can enter up to March 23, and closest to spot price on March 29 wins the Platinum coin.

But ONLY the first correct guess wins

Property rights can be dispensed with if you have a hunter-gatherer society; once you settle down, property rights are a necessity - now, if we only had honest money instead of this hocus-pocus, print money out of your ass syndrome, we would be getting somewhere.  This will not happen until the curtain is raised and the people can see the shameful way money is created by socialpathic cretins who, despite their fancy suits, ties and degrees, are the scum of the earth...

spot on, the raid on equity continues, (housing bubble) through other various means. one result of the socalled housing asset bubble was to burden people with lifetime mortgages, (through endless refi's) i know people who will retire while they are still paying off their house. the automobile makers want to sell you an endless lease, so you never own anything. the one thing the Fed hates is autonomy. one guesses in a few years that children will be born into indentured servitude, made to pay for the cost of raising them, and educating them. (the state refers to them as parents, which is an impersonal term, like guardian, instead of fathers and mothers - who can't find jobs and must fob off the welfare state to raise their little ducklings, and the state will make someone pay)

WB7, it just occurred to me that the introduction of daylight saving actually slows the rate of debt accumulation by 50% although the effect lasts only for an hour.

The only way we are going to possibly avoid a total bloodbath is for the trash cash to have a sunset clause, politicians to have a permanent epiry date after a set period and for polticians to have their promises underwritten against their own private wealth.

'Capitalism' would vapourize into 'Financialism', or money being digitalized out of thin air ...

FRAUD has nothing to do with CAPITALISM.

A small group of criminals aka bankers have convinced Americans that "silly notes" aka US Dollars are money.

I especially liked, "Sober nations have all at once become desperate gamblers ... "

I am put in mind of when I first read the Communist Manifesto (don't knock it if you have not read it) with Marx saying of the 'free market',  "All that is solid melts into air."

How prescient, though how was he to really know how 'Capitalism' would vapourize into 'Financialism', or money being digitalized out of thin air, with derivatives derived from nothing of substance and rehypothecated to boot.

But maybe Marx grasped the essence of it all some 150 years ago.  And perhaps that's why he refused to join any nascent socialist party, comprizing the lumpenproletariat he despized.

Perhaps he knew that it was all a lost cause, despite his utopian rhetoric, such as,  "At last mankind will have to wake up, with sober senses, to know his real relations with his kind."  (I paraphrase because I know Marx.)

This reduces to what CD writes about, though a short cut would be to read Marx and Engels on 'alienation', which is cognitive dissonance and described by Engels over a century ago.

OK rant over, except for a few parting shots:

Anyone who believes that Barry Soreto/Obomber/whatever his name is a 'Marxist/Communist/socialist/etc' is frankly silly and/or brainwashed by decades of Washington propaganda.

Anyone who believes that the former USSR and the current PRC were/are 'Communist' - or even socialist - is silly and/or brainwashed into such beliefs by the Western MSM ... like the current brainwashing into believing that Moslems are about to take over the world.

Marx was right to cite alienation as a major social problem, because few now get along with their immediate neighbours, except to agree that people thousands of miles away, e.g. in Iran, are common enemies.

NO!  The real enemies are much closer to home in the White House and on Wall Street, or even in your own steet.  BUT the Fascist PTB are intent on covering that fact up and will even resort to such massive false flags as 9/11 in order to get the masses/lumpenproletariat on their side for NWO conquests in distant lands.

Lastly:  I posted  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njG_dQC-cnk  in order to show a human face for those so dissociated as to want to 'glass' N Korea with overwhelming nuclear capability - or else Iran, or anywhere else the Washington Empire does not yet rule supreme.

Thats a rather long defense of Marx and socialism.

So I have to ask, in your opinion, is not the discipline of socio-economics (being taught in the major universities today) really just a form of socialism?

So where did I defend socialism?

Neither did I actually defend Marx, because I was summarizing some of his observations and musing on them.

In any case, where is the 'length' in a few paragraphs?

As regards your 'question': considering that your mind is already made up, why ask me for my opinion?

Marx was a brilliant observer of the capitalist economy.

However, he went way into left field the moment he said there should be no rights of private property.

Regarding that quote, it just goes to show, once again, that there is little that has not somehow manifested itself before and there is certainly no good reason to believe this time will be any different.

yes but KM had the same opinion of private property as SCOTUS has of rights of corporations. where they differ (probably) is in the definition of corporate, which in the US used to infer a level of public trust, (the collective version) but lately defines ownership rights as separate from the workers, consumers, or resident rights. [this is where Rand Paul matches up with their thinking by the way]

So the city of XYZ can tear down your house to make way for anything which will provide more tax revenue, [you have no legal basis to defend your property rights - while they assert theirs through eminent domain]

You could interpret this to be more collective twist of policy - assuming the corporation or municipality has the right to make policy for the public good - the public being 50% and one more - that you have fewer personal rights, while corporations have more - [private property never went away it just shifted to the wealthy and powerful] including the right to make undisclosed [and foreign] campaign contributions to US elections. i think Marx would have been completely against this.

I do believe that deep down Obama wants to be a Socialist. Whether his handlers allow it to happen, probably not. On the other hand, will Obama throw his leash. Who knows.
