Inflation does the dollars in stocks just like the dollars in bank deposits. No supermoney here, just the green paper in the wallet. Same dollars, same inflation.
Banks gambling doesn't affect depositors, at least, not since FDR. FDIC is real, and though the banks are being allowed to go light on the premiums, there is insurance. Though Global Crossing and Cyprus bode ill for the future.
Once again, devalutaion gets every dollar, the dollars in stocks aren't immune. Indeed, there are companies with synergistic exposure to devaluation, and could go tits up with a small percentage drop.
The Corporatist Fed is the current inflator of stocks, and without their funny money, they'd be nothing but losses with promises of upside. I don't think buying a few shares would get you on the inside of the power elite. It depends more on family, religion, fraternity, and being on your knees under the right desk. Though even that last is losing its juice.
Nah. Ben can continue pumping dollars into the 1% until he retires to honorable enjoyment of two terms of bribery. Just like Greenspan, the serial bubbleblower. Only difference is Ben kept up one long bubble, just aiming the money at different assets.
This has been a learning process for me and you can expect the quality of the works to continue to trend upwards, both in terms of technique as well as collectibility and relevance of content. I am also investigating the feasibility of gallery events and other potential outlets consistent with my desire to maximize the participatory nature of what I am doing...
I recently had a conversation with a guy that worked for the transportation company the other "Painter of Light", Thos. Kincaid, used to peddle his wares around the US. He said his company paid like the bomb. I haven't followed the values of his stuff much since the fall of the economy. I remember his stuff had various baseball card paralles, what with all the "proof", "gallery print", "autographed", serial numbered, etc. that commanded ever greater "values".
Come to think of it, I guess he just patterned Ben's pretty printings. He pays like the bomb to all those moving his circus around the country too.
Besides the obvious mistake of the Vietnam War (60,000 American servicemen dead, Defense Secretary McNamara admitting to Congress when the Cold War ended and i was a grad student that he knew the war was unwinnable in 1965) there is of course the famous (am I boring everyone again?) "tossing of the helicopter as last ride out of Saigon cuz Congress said no moar money" thing. Of course most people aren't interested in this stuff "cuz the only thing soldiers care about is war" but hey, I don't recall anyone shedding a tear when that one ended. "All Glory is fleeting." Move along....
far too many of those politicians and "people behind the scenes pulling the strings" that sent our soldiers to that war rode off into the sunset with no punishment (like lamp post dangling) .... that is the shame.
Viet Nam war still had a lot of draftees (conscripts), and many of them did not care for war at all. Many of the regulars too, after they got there and figured it out.
I know there are many Europeans negatively impacted by her Troika bullshit and I aim to make it just a little bit easier for them to maintain their sanity.
Hah, just did the MacBook flip myself. On close inspection it seems the lovely lady has taken a bean bag shot (or something) to the left cheek. Who's to blame? Riot cops, an eager lover with bad aim or this guy..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ln8-Y-fIbqM&feature=related
I tip my hat to you, WB! I used to think of you in terms like Mathew Brady, a commenter, but you have exceeded even this. My life and my prospects are richer because of what you do.
That's funny, because my life and prospects are definitely enriched by my viewers and their participation as well. In fact, the idea of interction with audience in real time is what excites me the most about what I am doing from an artistic perspective. Many artists are slightly aloof. Not me!
Before clicking your latest, I was thinking that your iconic Mad Max Ron Paul image is the most memorable for me...now it's going to be Merkel in fishnets...goddammit.
Speaking of participation, I've sent you a message on YouTube, sir. =]
Ben is right about buying stocks!!!!!!!!!
Hope this was /sarc. Otherwise...

Here is my take on his stuff: only a mindless idiot glorifies the notion of turning all the lights in the house on for effect.
Much has been written about the kinkaid phenomena of mass art marketing. As I understand it, it ultimately led to bankruptcy and personal ruin.
Bankruptcy and ruin for whom? Kinkaid is dead.
Nostalgia always sells in the USA.
He wound up in bankruptcy and he was an emotional wreck.
Is there a PTSD that's specific to artists?

Likely the same will be said of Ben and his wares too. One doesn't need directional light dimming techniques to benefit from the light of your work.
Hide it under a bushel? NO!
Bandit Ben--don't stand too close to Barry Soetoro or a fly will zap up your yap!
Tell me that pic with the fishnet monster isn't real.
Kill meh...
Scarier than going hunting with dick cheney.
There are people in the country that deserve to go hunting with dick, especially if Dick was drinking heavily to boot
It's large format.
Real? Is it even possible? Do the physics work?
Fortunately there are many websites on said subject.
Err Freudian slip, fat bitches need love too!
What has been seen cannot be unseen.

von clausewitz would be so proud of you!
I never managed to get through the book from cover to cover. But it is a treasure trove.

I remember it all very well and I am fascinated and appalled when I watch that movie The Fog of War.
Viet Nam war still had a lot of draftees (conscripts), and many of them did not care for war at all. Many of the regulars too, after they got there and figured it out.
who, exactly, "cares" for war except for those who profit from it.
Man Wiliam, that was harsh, even by your standards.
Okay the cheesecake helped. We're good here.
1 quart of Blue Bunny pistachio-almond ice cream just defied gravity. Rot in Hell, Merkelowitz
Holy hell wb7, you need to warn a guy before posting Merkel's true form, I nearly threw up my lunch.
However, never let it be said I wouldn't motorboat that just so I could tell the story later.
I know there are many Europeans negatively impacted by her Troika bullshit and I aim to make it just a little bit easier for them to maintain their sanity.
Visual Antidote...
what a beautiful back; awesome!
is he fishin' for dead hogs?
Right on, WB7.
I've played guitar since I was 5.
Artist to artist, tatted chicks are fuckin' hot.
+1
The guy with the fishing pole must be very tired.
That's some fine skin defaced! Sad waste of ink IMHO.
WOW!
That was well worth flipping the MacBook upside down for. AWESOME, Mister Banzai7.

it was kind of soothing until......GODZIRRA !!
I was expecting the other asian bombshell you post like on Valentine's Day.

Mutti goes beyond Visual Combat.
WB has entered the realm of Visual Annihilation.
(shudders)
I can't make my mind up who has a fatter ass, her or Holder.
I would be more inclined to compare your work as a visualization of Ambrose Bierce, Tip: stay out of Mexico
The antidote worked. Thanx WB7!
Hope that kid is fishing with steel cable if he wants to reel in Godzilla.
uh oh, Godzilla's lurking.
Why is Merkel face on body of Boris' wife? Where is to get photograph?!
