Yes, I covered that terrain when the "Troika" term popped up in Europe. Very ironic.
Ironic is the understatement of the day. It's by design. Troika is supposed to impose fear upon the people. No wonder Merkel is hated so much now. Remember that Russian spy chick in one of the earlier James Bond movies? The one with the poison dart in her shoe? Merkel looks and acts like her.
Rosa Klebb. Merkel's the evolved version, Rosa 'Extreme-Drug-Resistant-including-Carbapenem' Klebb(siela).
There was a flick where the commandant of a camp is a fat German women who inflicts misery on the female inmates. I can't remember the name of the movie. But it was a serious film. And that is who Merkel reminds me of.
William, I believe the film you're thinking of is "Seven Beauties", a 1975 Italian language film written and directed by Lina Wertmüller and starring Giancarlo Giannini and Shirley Stoler. However, she terrorized the male inmates. Great black comedy film; highly recommend any films by Wertmuller.

that sounds like KAPO, Susan Strasberg plays a young jewish girl thrown into a womans' CC in WW2. she becomes a guard, a Kapo, in order to get extra privileges. it's a neat movie, poorly received at the time, by the director of The Battle of Algiers, Pontecorvo (all this is off the top of my head)
