Rut-roh:

From the Coinbase website:

"Due to higher than normal buy volumes, we are unable to provide exact price quotes right now.

Instead of pausing buys entirely, we decided to give people the option to purchase bitcoin at the market price in a few days. Once your USD funds arrive, we will exchange them to bitcoin at the market price at approximately Tuesday Apr 9, 2013 at 09:39AM PDT."

Syracuse, NY -- East Syracuse lawyer Martin J. Rothschild faces three years in state prison after he admitted Thursday morning to promoting a sexual performance by a child.

Rothschild appeared before Onondaga County Court Judge Anthony Aloi on the child pornography charge, which was revealed by an indictment unsealed in court.

Rothschild, who had not been charged with any crimes until this court appearance, decided to admit the charge as part of an agreement struck with prosecutors and the judge.

He will be sentenced to three years in prison, be forced to give up his longstanding personal injury law practice and register as a sex offender upon release, according to the agreement announced in court. He will face three years of post-release supervision.

Bail was set at $100,000 cash or bond until his sentencing this summer. Rothschild, wearing a dark suit, blue shirt and striped tie, was placed in handcuffs and escorted out of the courtroom by deputies.

The investigation of Rothschild became public in late February when federal and state authorities seized the personal computers from his East Syracuse law office and his Manlius home.

The people have it within their power to strip the Fed of its powers, rescind private credit and get the bankers to pay off the National Debt should Congress fail to act. The key to all this is 12 USC 411, which declares that Federal Reserve notes shall be redeemed in lawful money at any Federal Reserve bank. Lawful money is defined as all the coins, notes, bills, bonds and securities of the United States: 'Julliard v. Greenman' 110 U.S. 421, 448 (1884); whereas public money is the lawful money declared by Congress as a legal tender for debts (31 USC 5103); 524 F.2d 629 (1974). Anyone can present Federal Reserve notes to any Federal Reserve bank and demand redemption in public money -- i.e., legal tender United States notes and coins. A Federal Reserve note is a fixed obligation or evidence of indebtedness which pledges redemption (12 USC 411) in public money to the note holder. The Fed maintains a ready supply of United States notes in hundred dollar denominations for redemption purposes should it be required, and coins are available to satisfy claims for smaller amounts. However, should the general public decide to redeem large amounts of private credit for public money, a financial melt-down within the Fed would quickly occur. The economy is the Iraq war on much larger scale. Break it you bought it. [They broke they bought it in 2008. We're still paying for it]. the Iraqi people will greet us a liberators. [the American people were against the financial bailout of the TBTF banks from the beginning. Now we have acts of econo-terrorism. Inflation only proves we're winning. We have real acts of terrorism in places like Texas (some small irony there). The Fed has an exit strategy.

Tiny Cyprus exposes the whole sham, just as North Korea exposes America's nonproliferation policy. We can attack Iran because they don't have nuclear weapons, we can't attack North Korea because they do. Poor Cyprus has no weapons of financial mass destruction, just some Russian bank accounts. American marines are not far away to help stop the bank riots.

There is some question what sort of policitcal plan the central bankers really want to establish, but the answer seems clear; its Fascism, the militarization of the global economy. Destroy your weak enemies, make deals with those who are too strong. The Pigs get fat, the Hogs get fatter, the Sheep (savers) get slaughtered.

BitCoin users with more than 50 BitCoins in InstaWallet get Cyprused.....

“The Instawallet service is suspended indefinitely until we are able to develop an alternative architecture,” the service wrote on its site. “Our database was fraudulently accessed, due to the very nature of Instawallet it is impossible to reopen the service as-is.”

Instawallet did not immediately respond to Ars’ request for comment.

The website, which appears to be run from France, said that it will “accept claims for individual Instawallets” and will refund balances under 50 BTC (around $6,400 at current exchange rates).

I also think it is fair to say it is not the pimply faced teenagers, pro capitalist or anti government types that are trying to attack the network right now. We know who's mouthpiece cnbc shills for so that story is going to be slanted as I already pointed out.

Typical statist misinformation being blown to discredit bitcoin. First off they implying that the exchange itself was compromised by hacking which means internal manipulation. DDOS is not the case it is external manipulation. Any network/site can be slowed to crawl forcing information updates to not respond in real time. The average shmuck that reads cnbc wouldn't the subtle difference between internal vs external hacking manipulation (I wouldn't be surprised if the audience they are aiming for wouldn't know the subtle difference between a wet fart and shiting your pants). Shit they do the equivalent of a DDOS all the time it is called HFT trading. It does illustrate a weakness of the system though that the exchange should be coded into the alogorithm itself so it can run remotely in a decentralized manner. That would limit the effectiveness of a DDOS attack. To many points to hit and not enough bandwidth to attack it with. In that becomes a math problem of how do you create and enforce latency arbitrage across the whole network. Anyone solves that you've also found the solution to bringing arbitrage back to HFT trading.

Also depending on who you ask and believe there is legal precidence for this DDOS attacks are not considering hacking but CNBC wouldn't bother to add that counterpoint to their article since the purpose of it is to attack bitcoin itself not to report facts in a factual manner. When the price of bitcoin rebounds in the next week or so I bet CNBC since they are upstanding factual bastion of journalism will not post a follow up article praising the resiliency of bitcoin and it's users in the face of adversity.

That's a really good one of Max. Hopefully we might even see it on his RT show!

Don't have his enthusiasm for BTC (although it's rocketing right now), simply because the predictable legislation against it is in the works, and the clumsy updates to the software has made it even more vulnerable to tampering. I rather like my money shiny and sinkable in boating accidents.

Anyhoo. If you are reading this Max, PLEASE ALLOW THE MAKEUP LADIES TO COMB YOUR HAIR BEFORE YOU GO ON AIR. I've been tempted to send you my comb lately. Otherwise, superb job.
