For doing this in Germany? Strange that you think so.

Note that they were able to do it at all- I doubt they'd breached US Presidential Security

they wouldn't dare to ask any banker similar questions;

on the other hand She said "I spend my money to survive (incl. alcohol and cigarettes) ;)

PS.: I fully understand her point of view; recently I gave up smoking cigs so I sympathize with her.

MeelionDollerBogus's picture

I think she should be free to smoke, drink & do whatever she wants so long as everyone else is free to deny her the money to do so of their own pocket.

This thread is one of the strangest I've ever read here. To say a lot of ground was covered just doesn't cover it. Fascinating.

williambanzai7's picture

I thought the same thing, although strange is not the word I would use. More like aware.

Anyone who says this site is for low brow morons is a moron.

You hear that you low brow ZH morons?!!! ;-)

BTW, if you ask my Mom and Dad who is a fraud, Corzine is the word that jumps out instantaneously.

Madoff confessed and he is in for life. Think about that.

silverserfer's picture

I just wonder though what the Goldman sachs CIA connection is. Operatives in finance do thing we dont understand and they have a clear picture of the movement with the money. Its almost like bernanke or someone else high up say a list of names and money and decided to "close" their accounts. Privelaged info. It think this happened in Cypruss as well. Its like thier plucking accounts that they think are laundered money. 1's and 0's just become all zero's. Sorry your not in the club.

the grateful unemployed's picture

i think madoff took one for the team, that his hedge fund was the pacmoney express to israel, that his rich donors knew where the money was going and didn't really care (a few of them didn't get the real prospectus, sorry, just like the widows and orphans in cyrpus bank) and that sooner or later he will get lifted out of there in exchange for some palestnian terrorists, quid pro quo

IamtheREALmario's picture

Mr. Corzine did not violate his fiduciary duty because he and his cronies had the law changed to allow him to legally pledge and then steal the segregated accounts of MF Global clients.

One might argue that each of the so called lawmakers and each of the lobbyists and associates involved in creating the law are accessories to the theft of client segregated funds. JP Morgan would obviously be an accompliss in the theft. The extent of the crime is far tuo large to prosecute, especially since the so called lawmakers and elitists parasites believe that they can create and use illegal laws and can never be prosecuted because the criminal elitist mafia controls everything.

mummster's picture are one of the few that understand that what Corzine did was within the law due to their lobbying to have the rules changed and then to be able to pledge client funds so they could take on additional risk and yield a greater return on equity. I think he was in turn set up by the squid and others knowing they could squeeze him and blow the whole trade up. In the end, MFG's position resulted in PROFITS but not to them. Look into who bought their under 2 yr maturity of Spanish and Italian debt and then MFG's seat on the London Metals Exchange for peanuts when everything was being liquidated. We all know the saying "what goes around comes around" but I just haven't seen it so far with this group of banksters.

NotApplicable's picture

As I always tell people (to blank stares), "Laws are legal."

And for the few who do get it, I follow with, "Fuck you! That's why!"

Why some farmer has not blown Corzines lame worthless ass away is beyond me.

If he doesn;t have a contract out on him, I would be really diappointed. You know those Iowas farmers he took sure are not forgetting about it!!

I have no faith in the Ex FBI director, he did the cover up on Ruby Ridge.

"[A] spokesman for Mr. Corzine argued that "there simply is no basis for the suggestion that Mr. Corzine breached his fiduciary duties or was negligent.”--NYT

  • Corzine was CEO of MF Global.
  • Corzine was placing the disastrous trades himself.
  • The customer accounts were segregated. Not to be used by MF Global for prop trading.
  • All of the $2.5B of customer segregated funds are gone.

No basis? Read above line items again. No 60 Minutes expose. No CNBC expose. No Fox News expose. One Congressional hearing.

NotApplicable's picture

As I mentioned above, Freeh ELIMINATED any basis by claiming controls were so weak that nobody could tell the source of the funds.

In my world, that's what we call a "Fixer."

Facade Maintenance R Us.

Corzine lied in the first hearing and said "I know nutting!"

When someone else said he "know sumting," Corzine was back under oath and said, "but the back office said it was all good."

"there simply is no basis for the suggestion that Mr. Corzine breached his fiduciary duties or was negligent.”

Only they forget the money held in trust accounts disappeared.

How could that be? How fucking stupid can they get?

All Risk No Reward's picture

Anyone who thinks Corzine is stupid ought to consider if that conclusion might fight the definition better than Corzine - who is free to commit a billion dollar criminal act, lie before Congress, get caught and walk away free as a bird.  Whatever stupid is, that ain't it in my book.

Quit making up excuses for your oppressors like this is some kind of Shangri Stockholm Syndrome La.

If we are chumps, we will be treated as such.

NotApplicable's picture

Well, one Mr. Freeh put into his report that there were weak controls in place so that Corzine, et al. couldn't tell they were using "segregated" customer funds.

One can only hope that the gentleman in question is once again caught in a hurry driving 100 mph, and is brought to a rather sudden deceleration by an immovable object, such as a mighty oak tree, bridge, large boulder etc.

And that will be that.

what have they ever  done

MeelionDollerBogus's picture

Oak trees have performed many a good service for us - the above-mentioned being one of those services if this should come to be. Some big solid oak trees can take a good thumping & be fine.

whatever "the lack of action" in prosecuting MF Global the result is clear: "loss of confidence." Rome had no "fiduciary duty to their customers" but certainly these folks did...and so when a Judge doesn't prosecute in effect "he's starving the beast" as it were since people start looking at that hole in the ground and think "that's safer than even a bank." to me there's never been a better time to be a GOOD banker than right now. And how to crash the system "for real" you ask? The day Citigroup offers 4% interest on deposits is the day the whole thing blows up. Needless to say "the Government will not allow this"...will it happen anyways? I say "stay tuned."

Nobody For President's picture

A teeny-tiny technical point, WB: It wasn't the squid, it was Jamie that Jon-boy sent all the cash to he looted from his muppets the last week to satisfy a few, ahem, 'loans' that JPM had extended to Jon-boy at MFGlobal to play his Euro bets that went baaaaaad. (MF = You can't make this shit up...)

Yes, JP Jamie is the foundation of modern fraud.
