all good points but what does bird flu in China or gun registration in the US have to do with the absolute racket that IS Bitcoin. It's a classic pump and dump pattern. Someone is having lots of fun with it and making a good paycheque. The saddest part is that people actually bought into the premise that bitcoins are a limited commodity and that the issue will not be manipulated. Same people who profess they can spot how equities get split and dumped into the market at the flick of a button. I'm not bashing and I don't have Schadenfreude either. I'm just worried how easily even the more sophisticated investors still get sucked into the game.

i think i've figured it out, Bitcoin is the laundermat for all the dirty money out there (including the Marriner Eccles counterFIATing operation). the existing monetary establishment likes it, BUT they want a BIT?more control.

the history of great innovations always works in this way. somebody invents a television, and he starts broadcasting stuff, which basically costs nothing, without any regard for commerce or morality. this pisses off the powerful business interests, and the politicans, who use morality (and regulation) to drive the first guy out of business, and then take his invention for their own use, which is commerce.

the first guy always fails, the second guys makes a fortune but has no idea what the invention is worth, other than making money, and keeping him and his friends in control, using censorship and regulation, and making people pay for their enslavement to these products and services. Think of the freedom you are denied because you haven't a cell phone?
