You need to look what type and who is in jail in US. If you steal a slice of pizza and this is your third offense you will be doing 5-7 years.
Also, from a distance it's hard to tell but court/jails are used to keep people from voting, i.e., criminal record suppose to prevent you from voting.
Great stuff, and that Bluma Berlin video is excellent ... Hilarious the music at the end, a comic silly version of Beethoven's 9th symphony 'Ode to Joy' that is the EU anthem ... appropriate to the farce that the EU has become

One thing though about the EU, versus the USA, relevant to the video ... is the much greater freedom EU citizens have to go on strike, demonstrate and riot in the streets
And although we do have increasing EU police brutality, as shown in the video ... What we still do not have, is the massive jailing culture, long prison sentences, and legal system extortions and terror that have US citizens in such cowering fear. Even with the police using their clubs, as seen above, people do fight back here physically, without so much fear of post-fight legal consequences.
For all that is screwy about Europe, the destructive euro currency and the EU ... there is little fear here of courts and lawyers, police and prisons. Almost no one is in jail here ... only about 1 out of 1000 people in prison in Europe, versus 1 out of 140 in the USA.
Our continuing willingness to hit the streets, strike and riot, and the fact our judges and courts are not yet tools of terror, remains one of the great positives about Europe.
Europeans in the streets will bring an end to the Troika - German dictatorship before too much longer.

you mean that the fact that we have some 100m privately owned firearms for an eu population of some 500m and that Americans have some 300m privately owned firearms for a population of some 300m can give something like a "Freedom (Guns) Coefficient", where the US has a rate of 1.00 and we have a rate of 0.20?
meanwhile you have 2.5m prisoners and we have... 0.5m, which makes for an interesting "Freedom (Prisons) Coefficient".
How do we rate those two together to give the "Total Freedom Coefficient"?
