UN investigator Carla Del Ponte said that there is strong evidence that the rebels used chemical weapons, but that there is not evidence that the government used such weapons:
This is not surprising. Haaretz reported on March 24th, “Jihadists, not Assad, apparently behind reported chemical attack in Syria“.
The “rebels” in Syria that the U.S. has been arming and otherwise supporting are Al Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood.
Unfortunately, history is repeating.
Specifically, the American government gave chemical weapons to Saddam Hussein … which he then used on Iran and on his own Kurdish population.
The American government attempted to blame Iran for the chemical weapons attack on Iraq’s Kurds.

The premise is brilliant, destroy a whole country to kill one person. They could just invite him for a surreptitious visit to Washington, treat him like a King, promise him an empire on a platter, then shoot the bastard dead, "oh look, he's been assassinated by some crazy Kurd extremist!" How terrible, we will stand by the people of Iraq in the aftermath of this terrible event, blah-blah. OK you can be more imaginative about it, but you get the point, if its a choice between them, and destroying a whole country, to take out one bastard, you don't destroy the whole country.

Last week the story was that the government lied when saying that Saddam had chemical weapons. Saddam was really no threat to anyone, just a peaceful dictator trying to produce oil to buy food for the population.
Now, Geo Wash writes that Saddam did have chemical weapons because he makes another wild claim that the US provided them to him. Then he writes that Saddam was dangerous as he demonstrated that he would use the chemical weapons.
How about that? The US sold him dual use items. So, if give Geo Wash some matches so he can start his campfire, but he uses some of them to burn his neighbors houses, should I be blamed for the homes being lost? Should I have to run a background check before giving him a box of matches if I can possibly imagine a damaging Dual Use.
Which end of that turd will Geo Wash polish next? He sure likes either end.

But whose security? I think they are waiting and hoping for an armed insurrection. Any excuse to take the guns, but on the other hand what good is the right to bear arms if you don't use it. I think a more effective approach would be to press charges of treason to all those names involved in treason, no matter what level they reside. This is certainly addressed in the Declaration but not spelled out concerning the approach. How do civilians go about pressing charges against political leaders for treason? It really can't be as simple as going down and getting a lawyer can it? How fast would that be dismantled.
I've thought about the idea of creating a website that lists all members of the guilty parties where you can click on a name and it will show you evidence of their treason. Even that wouldn't do much, I don't think. It's not action, it's words.
Something along those lines needs to be done though. The time is nigh.
