I hope you are right. It does seem like they are the only ones in the way of the current regime. Give the current leadership a little more time then they might control the military as well.
Role reversal? Always thought the MIC controlled "The Administration" - after all they've certainly "paid" for the control courtesy of taxpayer-funded largesse.
Or are you hinting that the next "evolutionary" change will be the amalgamation of the "Admin" branch and the MIC - a situation that seems well underway especially in view of recent leaks on "Government" wrongdoings . . . . . . .
Really? Who do you think makes up 'our' government? If not the citizens, then who? Americans are self centered, egotistical, self entitled IDIOTS, and they will inevitably get what they deserve.
What we deserve? What do you say we deserve? Don't misjudge the American people because of the misdeeds of their government. That would be a foolish 'put'.
You just discarded the only point I made above. AMERICANS ARE NO DIFFERENT THAN THIER GOVERNMENT. What the fuck makes you think differently? It's not like the French elected our officials. WE DID. These are the fucks WE chose. They reflect who WE are. The American people have raped and pillaged every other nation on earth for over a century to further thier standard of living without the slightest hint of guilt or remorse. American 'exceptionalism' is a myth. People are people wherever they are from or live, so to say an American deserves more or less than any other person on earth is hubris. Period.
fuck you sitenine--I'm way different than my government--I'm not a corrupt lying thief--or a pedifile fag--or a lazy paper pusher-- Icould go on and on-- I'm about up to here with assholes saying i deserve my gov't.
You're part of a collective, dipshit. You follow the laws, you pay your tax, and you speak the language. I'm about up to here with assholes saying they're 'different'. Check yourself, check your ID, check your location, and check your Social Security Card, Mr g speed. You're an American. Doesn't sound like you like it either. So, if you don't deserve this government, what the fuck are you going to do about it? Tell everyone to fuck off? Good luck to you, Sir.
You vote with your wallet...you withhold money from corporations that do not share your own ethos.
The MIC is made possible by the lowly American through their spending choices. I've read these pages for a while now, and noticed many blame corporations/politicians for how things are with little thought about how these entities/people gain and maintain such power.
Complaining that there is some great conspiratorial force working behind the scenes does nothing to solve the problem...it actually perpetuates it by failing to a) address the real problem and b) propose a solution. No solution, no action, the band plays on.
Advertising/Media cements this mindless-buying problem and the cycle continues...but again, it's the people that choose not to think and simply react to some sort of unconscious Maslow/Pavlov-based advertising. Hence...think and vote with your wallet.
When the politicians see the shift in corporate sentiment, they will do what they do best: Flip-flop to whichever way the wind is blowing.
I usually spend my time on ZH reading or making light-hearted quips...but I believe in the above solution and I practice it whenever I can so I decided to type in more than one sentence. I still buy gas for example, but I limit how much I drive and combine trips whenever possible; I can't exclude that entirely but can limit what I spend. I don't, however, shop at WalMart and would rather find what I need used off Craigslist...but the problem is what does the seller off CL do with my money...
The government believes that it should control the people, and 98+% of the people believe the government should control the people.
The supporters differ from the rulers basically in that they aren't motivated enough to do the dirty work of killing and stealing to achieve that control.
The only answer is to reverse this transfer of assets. The only people who can do this is the politicians. Therefore, annoying the politicians the way only Americans can is required. Email bomb every goddam one of them. Phone their offices in call bombs during operating hours. Set up teams to do this. Public offices must have a working system; this would cause huge issues for other business details and public officials must be available. if the phone is always busy or the e-mails go unanswered...well, it's time for a new phone line and then you do it again.
Local level is the only way to get there. I have watched the meetings. Particularly interesting how dismissive and rude the politicians, since they need votes. Unless they think they will one day not need votes.
So, go to meetings in town. Just be there. If there is not enough room, request their meetings be held in stadium because this is a democracy.
If you do nothing, you are pissing away the finest fucking nation in teh world. Love your car? That house? The fine clothes. Your ~style~? You can have all that, but if you are a person without a nation, you become a gypsy, nomad, a wandering American and we already know what happens.
to those who say: "America wll be fine." No. America is funding the military manuevers which benefit the special interests who have the GUNS TO THE HEADS OF THE POLITICIANS.
If the politicians pay the ultimate price to lead this fine nation, due to their actually attempting to acting in the benefit of the true American economy/people/best interests, they signed up for it. The sacrifice will be remembered. Get involved with elections in your town also, voting fraud/redistricting - hire a company as tax payers to monitor elections because if the loser wins, we all lose.
They go in poor and come out rich and that isn't because of their paycheck.
The people of any land ARE MOST DIFFERENT FROM THEIR GOVERNMENT, despite your nazionist cap lock. Much irony in that, comrade nazionist.
Diebold, the un-Federal no-Reserve Bored, and you blame Americans for the fraud, foisted by political self-loathing pets like you and your Ingsoc, comrade.
A patriot hopes to defend his country.
Putin is going to kick your bureaucrat arse, ref: Syria... and John Kerry fckwit being kept waiting for 3 hours for a meeting with Putin because Putin was rightfully angry about the nazi MONSANTO destroying bee colonies and world agriculture.
Big letters for apparatchiks, like you, apparently.
Bring your $hit to New England, and discover that we hate you more than you hate the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights, the Magna Carta.
Do. Not. Tread. On. Me. And. Mine. Pet.
The down arrows are lazy, cowardly nazionists...off to the shower.
Yes. But, under our present political circumstances, not for candidates.
"You still believe that we choose and elect our representatives?" -- margaris
Not at all.
"Ever seen a politician who kept his promises?" -- margaris
Yes. To their financial angels.
"[T]he people who depend on government programs are guilty too, they are complicit." -- margaris
Only the wealthy ones, since they make the rules.
"[G]overnment programs and propaganda have been designed to turn people into dependent noncritical children." -- margaris
Obviously.
"Government is run by sociopaths who like to have dominion over all people." -- margaris
Many people apparently believe this to be so. It's a useful working hypothesis.
"So how can [the government] be - as you say - "the same people as me" ?" -- margaris
Didn't vote did you. Also didn't read "The Constitutional Self-Governance Handbook (For Dummies)", Chapter 13, page 69, "Consent: Withdrawing Yours Before The Government Runs Amok".
The rules are simple:
You gotta pay attention more than once every two years.
You gotta show up and be counted (vote); that which is implicitly given must be explicitly revoked.
You gotta know your ass from a hole in the ground (Constitutionally speaking).
One of my favorite quotes:
"A republic..., if you can keep it." -- Ben Franklin
Get the picture? Freedom really isn't free. At best you have to work for it. At worst you have to die for it.
Since, according to you, voting is passè, just what, exactly, do you propose in your infinite political wisdom? And please don't try the usual libertarian/anarchist utopian "live in peace and harmony, blissfully government free" crap. Think about it. We've got all the Constitutional tools required; conditioning and propaganda are our biggest initial problems.
Set aside fear of the devil you don't know (democracy) and use it to defeat the devil you do (tyranny).
Yes, I suppose that's a valid point. I just don't really believe that the power structure created itself without some help, even if you just want to blame complicity.
well, 9-11 kicked in the police state. the credit extension made us all benefit. Predatory lending was really what it is.
The end of this is far uglier than trying to figure out a way of not ending up a slave resource when you nation defaults on its loans. They appear to be preparing for something. The militarized cops, the fema camps, the sudden interest in railroads in a nation which is deindustrialized, teh lack of a serious "jobs bill" for 28 million idle workers? I don't know. If it were me, I'd say it's time to call for the politicians in office to work for their living. If they are scared, now is the time for them to say "we are under duress, we fear for our lives." If not, they they need to say: The unpayable debt will leave this nation vulnerable to foreign investors who deem the land their own, along with Agenda 21 hidden in the fucking shadows, it's very clear to me Americans are being corraled. NSA data is more evidence.
You need to turn the spy network around and onto those who are setting up this collapse. They make phone calls too. AIPAC to Fed Reserve: "Don't call here anymore right now."
We all were just born into this structure. I had no say in anything, I didn't sign anything... lol
So how come I have to follow rules and am punished if not... and in the same time I have to believe that it is MY system that I have helped create?
Hey, I would love if the rules of the game really were this way: We creating the society we like, without force and coercion, but with a hell of a lot of freedom and liberty.
But they will not let us do that... we are allowed to "feel" free, but we are NOT allowed to really live free.
You can make the choice to "Live Free or Die". You have supported the System. You do pay taxes, right? Well Financial Support is SUPPORT. You can choose to opt out.
Of course i read, "It is not my fault" and other denials. Well it is your failure to take Personal Responsibility for choices that you make. You choose to serve on your knees rather than die on your feet.
I am NOT BLAMING YOU for making that choice. Maybe you "have a family", or a plentitude of other excuses which I continuously read.
But it is your choice to do that. So own it and take responsibility for your choice to serve on your knees. It is not all that bad, is it?
If you are all so brave and wanted to do something about it then it will already have happened. But it has not happened.
I read as if I am a judgmental prick. Well I will own that. I get tired of reading the whining of the Manginas wanting someone else to take charge and change it. It just takes one man to begin the change. Then maybe others will follow the leader.
Yet you all are so satiated by your TV Sets and your Modern Comforts. You will not sacrifice the comforts of your homes to fight in battle against this.
I cannot blame you. But writing of Revolution without being willing to make the sacrifices necessary...including the risk of a loss of personal freedom when they cage you, if not spilling your blood and losing your life is a little hypocritical. Even the Occupy Wall Street movement had people willing to give up their Modern Comforts, willing to be gassed, willing to be caged, and I think that there might just have been some who actually died as a result. They were not whiner but doers. They were just misinformed and lacked understang and cohesiveness.
No I am not writing for a Bloody Revolution so that I can view it on TV from the comfort of my home. I happen to enjoy my modern day comforts too much.
It is YOUR system the one that you have helped create. You also enjoy it...too much. You just deny the responsibility for allowing it to develop. So own it...or fight. The choice is yours but at least own the responsibility.
I hope you are right. It does seem like they are the only ones in the way of the current regime. Give the current leadership a little more time then they might control the military as well.

"These are the fucks WE chose."
No, these are the fucks we were ALLOWED to choose. Remembering the treatment of Ron Paul might be instructive.
Even more to the point, I don't recall being allowed to elect Federal judges or bureaucrats or agency personnel.
Power tends to attract unpleasant people, which explains why bigger is not always better.

Well, ain't that the nutshell... But just try putting forth a serious proposal.
My serious proposal:
You vote with your wallet...you withhold money from corporations that do not share your own ethos.
The MIC is made possible by the lowly American through their spending choices. I've read these pages for a while now, and noticed many blame corporations/politicians for how things are with little thought about how these entities/people gain and maintain such power.

I have to agree. As an American, all I see are blowhards and pussies paying their taxes and going with the flow no matter what.
Not that I have any answers either, but I think you are correct. Most of us (myself included) haven't done shit to change anything.
In other words, we are totally fucked.
The only answer is to reverse this transfer of assets. The only people who can do this is the politicians. Therefore, annoying the politicians the way only Americans can is required. I disagree with your second assertion: "The only people who can do this is the politicians."

Don't be naive. So you still believe in "voting"? You still believe that we choose and elect our representatives?
Ever seen a politician who kept his promises? Why aren't they in prison for that?
Yes, the people who depend on government programs are guilty too, they are complicit.
But government programs and propaganda have been designed to turn people into dependent noncritical children.
Government is run by sociopaths who like to have dominion over all people.
Or can I just ignore government and they will leave me alone? No, they will keep enslaving me until one day I am in a prison.
So how can they be - as you say - "the same people as me" ?
