There again if, as the "conspiracy theorists"/"seekers after truth" (your choice) would have it, we are the architects of the system and trialled it first before extending it to the good old ussa then I suppose our cattle would be slightly more sophisticated by now...

In the UK currently we have a record number of "economically unproductive" people. After a number of false starts I am proud to have managed to join this elite without entering the "social security" system (which is of course designed to "punish" such as I, or at least train us in "compliance"). My work fully benefits either myself, or those whom I chose to work for. I could have more and better trinkets if I re-entered the system, and I am not averse to paying for what I receive in terms of water supply, bin emptying, traffic signs etc, by means of tax, but it seems to me seeing how public money gets used there's more than enough to take care of the essentials, so until "public service" becomes a higher calling, attracting those who wish to serve, not rule, then fuck the system, it and it's poisonous "money" simply isn't relevant to my life.

The sad truth is that McCain and Romney are both tools too. It would have been no different had either of them been elected. Maybe worse. I see no one on the horizon who would be willing to take on the Washington establishment. There is no Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Andrew Jackson, Teddy Roosevelt or Dwight Eisenhower and if there were they would not have a snowball's chance in hell of getting the nomination of either party.
