the term "progressive" has become 1984'd , just as the term
"conservative". there is no coherent definition available
to we, in the public, who would enjoy just a little bit of
coherency. the terms have been wrapped in hypocrisy and
deference to swindlers and con artists , it is a shame because
conservation and progress are pretty fundamental to survival.

lol...ya, know its been pouring down rain in my section of the country for close to a week now and "the authorities" are still advising (admonishing) people to NOT shoot off fireworks and be extra careful grilling out because of the extreme risk of wild fires.

It is like they really do live on another planet ;-)

I routinely blow off $100's in fireworks, tannerite, ammo, etc. and just let my neighbor's know and don't have a problem. We did have a Sheriff's helicopter hovering one year and I called the department and told them to have them go away or they'd risk being hit. Left within minutes. I doubt I'd get away with this type of antics within city boundaries though, the 'see something, rat on somebody' mentality is too prevalent.

I'm gonna go blow up another TV or something just for shiggles!

I think that this is part of the mind control meme. Parades, fireworks and the like are associated with patriotism - to the "old state."

Don't be surprised when we start having replacement parades on Carbon Free Day, which we could assign to oh.....say....August 1st as a reasonable distraction from those other hideous holidays of July 4th and Labor Day. Instead of a three day weekend, we could make it a socialist holiday week and do away with July 4th and Labor Day altogether. While were are at it, we should expunge Memorial Day and Veterans Day. That whole concept of the military and dead veterans who foolishly sacrificed themselves for the old ethos is soooooo outdated.
