who was it was talking about the "state"
impersonating "empire" in drag?
and this is not to be confused with
transgender androgyny. one is a real and true
manifestation of the cosmic gender experiment,
the other is all imitation and exploration
for the purpose of exploitation and manipulation,
aka fun.
i'll bet someone already wrote that book.
.
"those were the days.
i had it made when you were
temporarily forever mine." p.t.
.
you laugh, you cry and you puke.
for what more could one ask?

Yeah, the poetry kinda sucks- not sure, seems like you're advocating gay rights or sumpin'.  It's cool.  Myself, I don't advocate for any particular group.  There is only one "race".  I call it "human".  It can be said that some homo sapiens are not human at all- I could not rationally dispute that.  The ones who grew up in gated "communities" and went to Ivy League schools seem to have morphed into a type of being that I fundamentally don't understand.  I mostly understand my Maker, if you know what I mean.  I can't completely understand my Maker, 'cos I don't comprehend It's nature- but that's different from understanding, ask any judge.

I like Paul Thorn, so I gave you a greenie.  I don't give a rat's ass your personal vendetta, if you have one.  It's well past time to dwell on personal issues.  To wit: I don't have a problem with you.  I don't know you.  You can do, or say anything you want.  But, if you ask me to support your personal issues, I will respond with a resounding FUCK YOU!

speaking of personal vendettas, i had a conversation
yesterday with a female friend who is pregnant and she
said she is having a boy. i said that is great, congratulations.
she said yea, i'm finally growing a set of balls. of course she
is also growing a little man in there connected to the set
of balls.
then we talked a bit about the hermaphroditic members of the
race who exhibit very neutral characteristics or is it
ambiguous appearance where you don't know if the person is
female or male, not for sure.
and then you have the cross dressing whose gender is
certain and they chose to dress and make up along the
beaten path of the other gender.
.
it is just the display to gain attention as part of
a strategy for survival i guess, and not a personal
agenda but an observation.
and yes,
paul thorn is real good !
and fucj you too friend, resoundingly.

Actually this comment warrants a further digression.

I remember when I was a teenager back in the 70s listening to 50s Rock & Roll and Jazz. That was music from two decades back which I liked but thought was from another era. Back then music from the 40s seemed ancient to me.

This song was done in the eighties. Which roughly equates with the 40s for teens today...ancient times indeed.

But the music scene today is very very different from the music scene back in the 60s and 70s. Everything is manufactured on computers, rarely in a real recording studio. I know it sounds like Grandpa giving a lecture, but in the commerical space, there is an absolute dearth of creativity. The re-mix retro culture mentality is what prevails. Mining the past instead of creating something new.

I appreciate retro-remixing for what it is. Afterall, that is what I do with many images. But someone somewhere has to be totally focused on the nitty gritty art of creating something new. If not, our culture becomes a hollow mirror.

Twisted Sister was never my idea of musical genius. But they were geniuses of musical satire. And they knew the ins and outs of their genre. Similarly, the video, at the time was considered break through rather than a rehash of a superbowl commercial.

For someone of my age I have an unusually open mind about music.

I am waiting to be impressed and I sincerely appreciate it when anyone stears me to what they think amounts to the genuine goods in the musical creativity space.

PS: YouTube creates an outlet for creative types who stand no chance in what is left of the mainstream commerical heirarchy. But that creativity is unrewarded. Whatever monetary gain there is to be made is made in Ads and that money goes to the Data Privacy Pirates of Palo Alto.

I spend lots of time everyday playing my guitar, I guess its good for the fingers,

But mostly I spend 10-12 hours doing computational physics and machine learning with respect to 'music transcription', I find that playing this Asian 'music' to be non-trivial, compared to picking up a "rock book greats of the 1960's"

Lot's of 'unsolved' problems still out there and music transcription is one of them.

The new machine-learning advances means that now with a home-computer and a graphics card (nvidia gpu), you can get speeds close to a CRAY from the 1990's.

I think there is a lot of stuff going on in the world of music, but it comes down to 'reinventing' the works of Mozart, understanding the human mind, and how music geniuses do what they do, and making the next steps beyond that,

I think that most of the world still plays 'classical music' with 'classical instruments', of course I still listen daily to my 60's rock, ... ( Fuck what they do in the USA, in the jungle of the world I still see people banging beer bottles and hitting wood to making great danceable music ).

There is a lot to do, in the world of SUPER-COMPUTER learning brains, and computation neuroscience, ... hell you can buy a EEG now for less than $100, and learn all kinds of shit about how your own brain processes sound, ... and feed that back into understanding or whatever,...

I think the past 50 years was on syntheses, but now we can really do analysis, and modeling of the human brain wrt to understanding how the brain processes music, and then go to higher levels, ...

***

Most of the brain work is going on listening and vision, cuz that's where the NSA budget is, ... but not many people are applying all this to 'music', so it leaves a lot of room, for the little guy to research.

***

I pretty much stay away from YOUTUBE, given that its part of GOOGLE, which means it only exists to SPY.

These day's I have pretty much made myself 99.99% NON-GOOGLE, and it feels good.

That happened late 60s. There was plenty of good music that came after that. The steady march of synthetic music technology, DJ re-mixing and club aversion to music royalty payments eventually changed everything. Now when you go out to clubs all you hear is the monotony of club trance.

William, super great stuff with this one,

The Liz Warren clip was really over the top!

Speaking of music, Do you have any special thoughts on Leonhard Cohen?? I think his "Everybody Knows" goes shere no musician has gone.  His "There is a War" song is the one that introduced me to his special place in my favorites, but even his new stuff really hits about as hard as any musician can hit!

Anyt thoughts on Cohen??

Very good. It´s late overhere. I am slightly drunk. My mind wanders between the computer and your pics, the TV "reporting" on the budget crisis an gov. shutdown and the U.S. podcast I am listening to.

What is real? What is really going on?That slightly hazy surreal feeling of incredulity sprinkled with the nauseting creeping feeling that this is not only a freak-show by the Congress critters but that here is something else going on. That those visions are coming true. And then this Obamacare....thing...it´s alive...It´s hard to shake the notion that this too crazy not to be planned...

no that much different than Bush and his medicare D plan with the huge donut hole. there was a blogger over at DKOS who was polled to read the bill (she was an educator i think) and give her opinion. she confided on the blog that the bill made no sense at all, and i commented that it wasn't supposed too make sense. you write a thousand pages of gibberish about something, and you expect the vote to break along party lines 50/50 and then the lobbyists, whose lawyers interpret that gibberish, then come onto the floor and negotiate the 5% swing vote that will pass the legislation. thats hows its done.

I have Mrs. M and the kids back safely.  Picked up the print as well but have not had a chance to look yet.  My son is already terrorising me.:-)

Do you want to know how brilliant our Customs are here in the U.S.?  No, the knives, antibiotics and who know what else made it through customs in all countries just fine.  No problems.

Do you want to take a guess what caused an issue for Mrs. M with U.S. Customs just a couple of hours ago?  You would never guess.  They asked for the Consent to Travel paperwork for the children that I filled out and had notarized well before the family left upon RE-ENTRY into the United States.  Are you fucking kidding me?  They are U.S. Citizens!!!

Are they fucking retarded or what?  Shouldn't they have asked that question BEFORE the kids left the country?  They might as well shut the whole fucking operation down.  Idiots.
