so, long ago, there was this bear; and the diameter spanning the orbit of his eye was, as far as all the other forest-dwelling creatures were concerned, ignorably normal. they never thought a thing of it. in the way of ocular proportion and symmetry, this bear was beyond compare. balance and subtlety all the way. then something happened to startle this humble bear such that he should suffer sudden and irrovocable change...which is to say, his eyes bulged like baloons and he joined a race of bulbus-eyed bruisers.

Yes James, they did. The knife is really nice. Full tang and already has a great edge on it. I can tell my Arkansas hardstone will turn it razor sharp. I reminds me of Solingen steel but I won't know for sure until I put it to the hardstone. I hope it is a little harder than Solingen steel but not as hard as stainless. I will post a boating accident blog pic later but I have had my hands full here for a few days and likely will for the next week or so.

Agreed. When it comes to how to proceed it's all about the content of the ideas and any truth they contain, irrespective of where the ideas come from. The thinkers actions might be the opposite of thier stated ideas but that in no way diminishes the integrity of a truthful body of ideas. Furthermore some people who are obviously good in their actions have the crappiest ideas and personal philosophies. It is too prevalent how people glorify personalities and miss the ideas.

What (few) good ideas did Rand offer that hadn't already been offered 1000 times before by people far more worthy of listening to than her, many of whom lost their lives fighting against tyranny instead of running away from it like Rand? I'm a fan of Ayn Rand. The real Ayn Rand and the Mental Construct that the left and the right have created of her are two entirely different people.Since Rand was a writer you can tell alot about her idea's from her stories. The villians in Ayn Rands books were always the people who used government pull and personal connectons to make money and control the market and people. The hero's of her novels were all in fact poor people who gained wealth using hard work and intelligence and merit. True Rand rejected the welfare state but the idea that because you dislike and disagree with welfare means you hate poor people or favor the rich over them is a false dichotomy. Rand had lived through the Russian Revolution and went through real starvation and oppression. All while hearing the promises of equality from the government. She rejected racism supported civil rights but rejected government law to try and force equality saying that in the end it would only create resentment that would only serve to set black people back. She supported the idea of labor unions but rejected the idea of government being able to force the demands of the unions onto the companies. Saying this would cause companies to do more to get away from the unions and would eventually end up hurting the working class.
Truth is if you really get down to it she was right on almost everything.

At least inquire as to price on what you want. It's not anywhere near as expensive as you might think and is worth inquiring about. If William had ripped me off don't you think I would be the first to frag him? But William did no such thing and sent me a print that exceeded my expectations and it is not the only print I own. That's quite rare these days to have a satisfied customer and especially so myself.
The early numbered prints are the ones you want. The print I chose is not one that most of you would choose I would guess. I am 001 of ?:-) I hope it stays that way because it is the only one that exists in the world.
