While I'm no supporter of Boehner; he and the Repugs ARE helping point out the total irrelevance of most of the feral government. The longer it stays shutdown without the majority of free citizens feeling ill effects, the more they will be willing to acknowledge that it's time for it to go the way of the Dodo.
Please tell me you didn't prefer the House to rubber-stamp full funding of Obamacare and a raise in the debt ceiling?

As I much as I would like the current corrupt system to collapse, I disagree with your assessment of Boehner et al. They merely want the parts of the Federal government they don't like to collapse and for the parts they like, such as the NSA, to expand like a blood sucking super-nova.
And I am afraid the idea that this shutdown, which will be over before Monday, is somehow convincing the ignorant sheeple how much statist wastefulness there is, is wishful thinking.
Nevertheless, the whole spectacle is entertaining for those of us who understand the full score and are waiting for a blackswan to enter the stage.
In the meantime, for the sake of history, I don't mind exposing the entire farce for what iit is.

Exactly my thoughts, Pool Shark. I can't stand Boehner but this is exposing the pointlessness of a good chunk of our bloated bureaucracy.
Obama prefers this approach of blaming his predeccesor for spending the money, but NSA has ballooned under his watch. So have a whole lot of security programs, and Obama figured he could deal with the Reps, by giving them everything they wanted in DOD, and Security spending, and they would give him him Obamacare, and then we could all blame Bush, while the deficit exploded. He also gave Wall Street a free pass for all their crimes, in exchange for generating some wealth effect, (although its costing him 85B a month to keep those fatcats happy) and now without government spending Bernanke would have to write the checks directly to the NYSE, rather than misallocate capital. boy this is one crooked dishonest mess, Obama paid off the blackmailers, and now they still won't give him back OUR country. So the people he represents wake up in the AM with no gov services, no healthcare reform and several wars still going, surreptiously. Obama and Boehner were kicking the can down the road, until the tea party shut things down, the GOP has gotten most everything they want, so a few days off for some gov workers, in exchange for killing Obamacare is a good political tradeoff for them. so Obama fired a few generals, this really is a budget war, and the crony capitalists are probably going to get their ox gored the most, so watch out.
Obama declares he's not a deadbeat.....which is why we need to pay his bills.
