Somebody call the cops. There's a psychopath in the room with three women.

The three women were taken out with 15 shots each.....the police were criticized for the show of restraint.

Fortunately the psychopath was saved.

Thanks WB.  Like some men might want to go to a strip club to see what amounts to be the same thing over and over again, I would rather sort through these books on a salvage operation.  Who knows what might have been in there?  There are very few public institutions that I support the very notion of but libraries happen to be one of them; until now.  Call me old fashioned but I believe the physical print should be saved.  The architecture notwithstanding, this is a travesty.

Adding insult to injury is the fact that it was the Mark Twain Library.

Well, well done WB.

Of course she is being used and manipulated by every mf'er in town, but I think she is so fiercely attached to her cause of female education that she will get through it, and hopefully survive long enough to see it come to some sort of fruitation.

And for you poor lads bitchin' about the media telling you who your heros should be - just look at what she has been through and how she is undaunted. Are you so sure you would have that kind of balls? I don't know if she is a heroine or not, but she IS a true believer that will not shut up, will not lay down, will speak up and speak out for what she believes in until she dies - which will be soon if the Taliban have their way.

Listen to her talk. Is this the voice of a 16 yo by U.S. educational standards?  I must agree, the girl not only has balls but bigger balls than most U.S. males. If she is not killed expect big things from her. If she is killed it will be the worlds lost. So let the down votes begin by the posers.

Or maybe her whole story is one big Wag the Dog Hollywood prodcution to show the West (t least the leaders) as compassionate, equal rights for all kinda righteous dudes. If she was indeed shot , it's much more likely that it was by Special forces or she was collateral damage that some Psy-Op guy decided to milk. If she is going to have any cause it should be to stop the murder of her fellow Pakistani children by American drones. Anyone promoted by the media as some brave soul hero(ine) is a FAKE, PERIOD! End of Story! If she doesn't understand she's being used, her handlers surely do!

She told Obama that "drone attacks are fueling terrorism".

Sadly and predictably, at about the same time as her meeting in the White House, the State Department denied a visa to a Pakistani lawyer representing drone victims.

whew! that pretty well took care of our commander in chief...and boy-howdy, you took care of that son-a-bitch in a way in which none but our hero, the one & only WildBill banzai, can abra-cadabra togetha.  well-done, sir.  you seem to be on something of a kick...i don't know about you, my brother, but that first stiff wind, the initial chill of the brisker seasons always sets-off something active in me.  scary, i know.

but we cannot allow fear of our creative impluse to impede us -- and so, away we go.

i want to lay it all out there for ya, ZHealots...i want to give you a run-down on things the way they are; the unvarnished and verifiable, as it were.

janus never imagined himself a gynecologist; nor could he ever before fathom that necessity and circumstance would in this respect arouse in him an obligation to duty therewith.  but i checked her out, gave her a thorough and exhaustive examination; and, yup -- and sad to say -- it seems ole lady liberty has a bad case of the clapper.  it's gonna require purging and a sustained diet of anti-nefariotics: hearings, high-drama and the like.  if we are to continue to even nominally refer to ourselves as 'democratic' or are in any regard retaining identity as a federal republic...well, let's put it like this, insociance and disaffected apoplexy in the face of wanton and cavalier criminality on behalf of our nation's clandestine agencies is a red-line that no responsible citizen can ever allow its government to cross -- this is, i think, an issue that all thoughtful and 'aware' lovers of country can agree upon; it is well past time we alert the greater share of our fellow citizens as to the magnitude of this threat. this mass (and wholly unmerited) spying represents an agressive challenge to everything we were taught in civics class (things janus still insists on clinging to).  it is hostile to the very undergirding of our constitutional philosophy.  privacy is the linchpin of liberty.  intelligence service is a truly sacred trust -- it is not a goddam cowboy club where one to another winks at his cahooted thug across the table and offers to repay his public duplicity with a beer.  for shame, amorica!  no wonder, really: whore out your honor for this long and this openly and you're gonna infect us all with a nasty bout of the clapper.  lady liberty, you a filty slut and a nappy-headed-ho.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ds1xVHsXm7Y

now onto their cousins, the whoremongers...did janus just say 'whore'mongers -- i of course mean war-mongers.  anyway, you all know how much janus loathes the metaphor, looks upon the similie with scorn, that he thinks analogy and allegory are clear signals of a disturbed, affected and altogether distracted form of soft-psychosis..nevertheless, and bearing in mind what i was so recently saying about necessity and my adventures in gynecology (and, yes, i was most-def taking bush43's advice viz. my colleagues and me practicing our 'love' with our patients...classic, 43), i find incumbent in the present moment an obligation to draw your attention to an analogy of sorts.

i'm suspecting the possibilty exists that maybe one or two of you are familiar with a couple of second-tier charecters from an american cartoon called the simpsons.  the specific two to which i'm referring are mr. charles montgomery burns and waylon smithers.  but, imagine if you will that these two were not in the atom-splitting business (at least not as concerns the production of electricity); instead they were bumbling around the halls our upper house (bicameral-wise).  not that i'm saying j mccain in any way embodies the person of c.m. burns to such an extent that one could say he epitomizes him...i am not, it should be noted, otherwise slanderously suggesting that the senior senator from arizon is gleefully mephistophalean, poorly postured, cadaverous, reticulated with liver-spots, idiosynchratically evil, despotically cruel, rapacious in averice, an enemy to man an beast alike and a high-steward of this world's most wicked syndicates...did i sufficently cover the evil aspect?

and before any of you start goin all frogger-like, hoppin across a bunch of fast moving assumptions, let me further clarify the matter of senator graham, waylon smithers and how they hold nare-to-nothin in commin.  radically dissimillar, is my feeling on matters.  some of the more perceptive among you may think janus is implying that lindsay graham is a closeted homo-sexual who ideates ole j-bird mccain in some twisted freudian fashion -- the basis of which is too ghastly a subject for the speculation of normals and non-deviants.  let me also add that i DO NOT suspect that he craves the approval of that withered brat and consummate disappointment to his admiral forebearers to such an extent that he actively seeks to subsume his will into that of his master.  (so remember south carolina, a vote for graham is the same as two votes for mccain).

  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QW6DTVK4aCk

i was going to really set into many more of our honorable/old-guard whore&war-mongers on both sides of the aisle...i was gonna make it good and hilarious, too.  but my son looks like he needs a good snugglin, i'm in the mood for pancakes and i get the feeling mrs. janus might need to be taught a lesson or two (if'n you know what i mean...well, senator graham, i know you don't know what i mean...just pretend like you do).

and (and i'm actually rather sincere about this)...obama, mccain, graham (and all those i've flayed before and to all those who will from me in the future receive a well-warrented flayin) i'd like to say, nothing personal.  it's just business.  no hard feelings, right?

a few  things about this photo op

are the apples real? is there a significance to the number of apples?

I have never seen shoes so shiny

the chair Barry is sitting in and the chair Malalals is sitting in - they look to be the same yet something is whacky with the proportions unless they just photshopped Malala in to the picture

also look at the couch that Mitch is sitting on with her kid - where Mitch is sitting note the compression

and the big grin on Mitch's face, doesn't fit - what exactly is Barry saying

finally the hidden door - why is it ajar?

It was an off hand remark about sullen, elitist jerks (like Harry Reid & the IRS agent) throwing a hissy fit when their precious "authority" is challenged and calling plain ole JSP's "anarchists"...as if that's supposed to defang them or mean anything to them.

But the trucker protest is here:

say what!?!  you so cwazy...how else are you gonna know what's awesomest without the ceaselsess 'nudging'.  for example, did you know that some two-bit tandem, some dreadful duo composed of two trendy twats, is all over the place producing the very mostest in awesomeness?  seems kit and kaboodle have at long last teamed up to redefine music as we know it.  i'm of course referring to mclemore and ryan lewis.

i think they should just stop handing out grammies and such after this tour du force -- tough and hardened by a world forever fettering them with 'sterotypes' and a bunch of stuff even more insufferable than that (if you can believe it), and yet they have somehow retained hope and sensitivity throughout; only to come through it all, live to tell the tale, and then render it in the mostest un-contrived and oh-so unformulaic manner imanginalbe (really, so goddam unformulaic that i feel ashamed for even pointing out the stirring orginality of it all).

and so you can understand why i'm both vexed and distressed; seeing how i think that single track i've heard is about the shittiest thing since milli vanilli -- you know the one i'm talking about...the one where this beached and blotchy beluga trumpets it's whailing stanza ovah-and-ovah for what seems like forevah, 'she keeps me warm'.

perhaps it's simply overkill; i've now endured the song thrice...and, frankly, i shudder when i speculate  concerning the level of irritation the next playing will in me provoke.

it's almost as if ryan lewis and maclemore were an attempt at vengence; as if some fat-cat in the music biz has a score to setttle with good taste and quality.

here's a lil something to send an icy chill donw the spines of fat-cats, & mclemores everywhere -- some mutha fuckin quality:

Brilliance and acidulated humour, the insufferable irony of "yes we can kill silently", the truth of droneistan, all come through as this icon of female revolt to ageold submission in face of the the bearded heritage of the three imposters; --or the way they have been instrumentalised through history by the clerics and kings --; elevated to the heavens in defence of the patriarchal order... They all come to mind in this one picture.

Yes WB7, your portrayal of Malala is Da Vinci like and requires a Renaissance of our current culture in these tipping times.

Bank Guy really brings up a really good point. The passport he travelled on may have been British (Indonesia), as I understand Americans were NOT allowed to travel to Paki back then. That black hole is indeed murky. Now for a little Kenya news.

Even I heard about this girl when I was way out in the brush; and right around the same time I heard about Yellen.  It all came through NPR which unsuprisingly enough is about the only radio station you can receive that far out in the woods.  I listened to the interview and spit up my morning coffee when I heard Malalalalalaland go statist after about one minute.  I am all for women to have an education and such but what she said was out of line with reality.  When I say that, I mean exactly that she seems to support state funded indoctrination.  Trading one for the other it would seem.

Pakistan is not my culture.  I encourage my daughter to learn as much as she can.  We are not Muslims but my immediate family comes from a very diverse background and some from near Pakistan.  As an Merican, I have to ask why it is any of my business what other cultures do what they do?  It is only my business when my immediate family is directly affected.  I do not understand all of their customs or traditions nor do I pretend to.  Sometimes, I find those customs or traditions to be abhorrent but who am I to judge?  Why should it be any of my business?

I do not buy this speech.

You don't have to agree with all her views. She is an amazing young woman out of a culture that does not encourage young women, or any women, to speak up. And she has a death warrent by the 'brave' Taliban for being 'cowardly' and being a young women speaking out about getting tired of being treated like shit.

I expect she will be assasinated when she returns to her country. I suspect she knows this as well. You don't have to buy her speech, but respect her courage.
