some of us are turning off the cable, (some are having it shut off) which is the umbilical cord to corporate america, and lifeblood of the NSA. most of the information they gather is consumer information, and that information is going to be used against you to determine your worthiness to access their products (including health insurance, which you will soon need in order to get a job, and car insurance, in order to drive, and home insurance in order to gain a mortgage) . imagine your healthcare insurance company contacts your SNAP administrator and says, this guy needs to cut down on the calories. program his card accordingly. substitute your credit card company just to make sure everyone complies. its the hidden agenda they administrate. that teenage kid in the third row, watching the girls instead of doing equations, program his internet time, no porno.

so turn off the cable, go to cash, grown your own weed, or tobacco, its the way you will be stay relatively free. we all knew, and the NSA is the reason why. they are destroying corporate america by infiltrating it for their own political purpose. the hidden agenda

Does anyone besides myself have grave reservations about a Director of National Intellegence who kits out his office like a Star Trek set?

Seriously?

Because that's not crazy or something?

Sure, your Starbuck's barista likes to dress up and go to Comic-Con, that's fine, but...

Aw, never mind.

Now let us ask a slightly different question. Assuming strictly for argument's sake, that the myriad reasons put forward for domestic intelligence spend are valid on their face, what is the domestic intelligence spend return on investment realised?

They can't point to a single success when it comes to thwarting "terrorism".  Just bullshit and hyperbole. Where are the facts?

Hidden in Diane Frankenfeinstein's boudoir that's where.

And while there is no apparent benefit to any of us, you can be sure there is plenty of benefit running to someone hiding in Frankenfeinstein's boudoir. And you can bet this week's Android model that the contractual  gov't payments accrued during the past two weeks will be paid like clockwork.

Yes folks, the ROI of the data intelligence complex is much better than healthy. It's never been better.

Keith Alexander can look forward to a cushy directorship at Booz Allen or Amazon et al.

'The Japanese call this "amakudari" the bureaucrat's descent from heaven.'

Here in the U.S. we have a far superior system called Krintonkudari, where you retire from public 'service,' make speeches to grateful clients for $200,000 a night, and collect a cool quarter billion in the next decade.

Fortunately, though, we HAVE retained the Chinese concept of a political dynasty that endures for generations. Hillary 2016, Chelsea 2036!

I just want to know the mind of McCain. During the facebook IPO dust up, Senator John McCaine told the IRS to write a stern letter about tax evasion to the other co-founder, Edwardo Savaren.

About a year later, he was arguing to bomb Syria, to send a humanitarian message to Bashir Al Assad.

History informs us that a key component that all police and tyrannical states have is systems for spying on their subjects. This is because their subjects are really victims of their theft and murder and need to be watched for any sign of rebellion.

I see their spying as a symptom of their criminality, and I take comfort in the fact that they know that we will be coming for them one day.

I wonder if they have had the good sense yet to add 'guillotine' to their list of 'actionable' key-words?!

wow you've set some kind of record, i have never seen that many red arrows (and you're right, but we should resist this need - homicidal, larcenous, and otherwise disingenuous needs - we do these things in order to survive is the rationale?) but seriously our leaders don't sit around looking at empirical data to make decisions about how to act, they use this data to fill a preordained plan. i want to invade Iraq (Libya, Syria, Iran) go find me some WMDs. often times one hand plants the devices while the other hand discovers them, oh look! WMD's, (made in America probably). interesting the Fast and Furious, a minor screwup, is really just the tip of the iceberg in terms of a policy which supplies the enemy we are fighting with weapons in order to keep on fighting. the perpetual war machine started in Nam. Obama is just the latest iteration, and a very transparent potus, though not intending to be that way.

Just like J Edgar Hoover served a real need. How else does Obama's chief men know what members of Congress, Senators, and their own appointees are doing? How else can they squeeze key chokepoints of political opposition and keep the Media loyal? Someone has to be in charge. Right?

it is true that about 90% of what the CIA does is routing data gathering on basic geographic changes, climate, crops, various human and animal migration patterns. all sorts of stuff to try and figure out what the next big problem might be (the Northwest Passage becoming permanently open for instance - they ask a prominent Neocon what that meant? he said " means the terrorists can come over the pole and get us.." fuck all the dead polar bears, or the affect on fishing, or the release of tons of methane gas from melting tundra. but this is what politicians do when you give them information.

Do you realize that our government knew everything about 9/11 before it happened except for what time it was supposed to happen? George Bush ignored all of it. How much more intelligence do they need so they can ignore it? (Disclaimer: If it was an inside job then it was obvious why they ignored it)

still amazed at the american people and their reaction to the political and intelligence failure that 9/11 was, not demanding bushes impeachment or resignation, and then being led into a blood war of retribution against the middle east (and pakistan). the only public path to expressing disgust with the failure of leadership became this nest of conspiracy theories. a variation of none dare call it treason, the manchurian presidency, and jobs and american ideals were sacrificed for a global trojan horse, such was the bush presidency. without debate of course the great changes in america (since the civil war) all occur without debate, or even recognition now that the MSM has control of public information. not the way a democracy should operate
