On topic. Germany doesn't have a federal health care plan in a country with 80+ million citizens and a longlasting history of a social net and various health care providers.
To have the galls and push for a federal plan that covers 330+ million from all walks of life in one gigantic bureaucracy is complete and utter madness! I don't care that folks can opt out and keep their existing providers as they say. Can they really do that? I don't even care that hardly anyone is signing up on the program in a country were millions supposedly die from a lack of federal health care.
What the fuck is this program all about? Its the shits! It won't work and good luck getting the idiots in the ghettos to sign up online for a federal health care program when they can barely spell their names.

Wiki says Germany has a healthcare system managed at the state level through national mandates. All the targets for care and pricing mandated by the feds. Sounds like obamacare and the exchanges.
There's NO federal database or federal bureaucracy trying to manage this.
The Federal Ministry of Health deals with legislation and oversight in general but not with the processing of health care costs or recipients of health care services.

The local and state level is where its at and the system is funded by employers and employees on a sliding scale and according to income. Germany itself is alot more homogenous as a society than the US will ever be. It's ok to have a state run system here or even community based systems that can access funding from the Feds if need be. Putting all Americans on the same plan essentially is of course going to fail and create a black market for health care services and products. Just ask the Russians.

Well stop trying with the US Federal Government and tell them to buzz off if they try to fine you. Sign up with one of the Greater China Health Insurance Plans. Not only can we supply you coverage from US insurance companies that we have purchased in every US state but we also send Chinese Special Forces troops against any Feds that try to fine you. The fee is just one half ounce of gold per year per person.

obamacare is really much simpler than we think. more money goes to state programs to serve the medical needs of those who cant pay. since fewer working people have any assets, other than their home equity (underwater) and their pension fund (underfunded to match their liabilities) these people are heading toward bankruptcy, meidcaid state programs which pay the medical bills and put a lien on the patients assets. you're not insuring your health, you're insuring your assets.
by mandating coverage for people with no assets to protect, they're playing a cruel joke on people. we know you're broke but how about giving the insurance company 300 a month anyway, until such time as you get sick, and can no longer afford coverage you can't afford to use, and you go onto the state program at last?
the dirty secret of all this is that insurance companies are going to pass you off onto the state after you become ill and don't pay the premiums. they draw payments while you are healthy, and drop you after you are sick.
years ago i knew a life insurance salesman in Idaho. he had some clients on disabillity, and he would wait until the day after the checks came out, to pay the guy a visit. usually the guy had been drinking, and so the insurance rep (a real good guy type) would offer to buy out the rest of the disability policy for a lump sum payment. being broke and drunk the guy would usually sign. their methods haven't changed very much but its going to take another generation to figure it out.

The true goal of ObamaCare is to siphon income from the middle class and give it to the lower classes in terms of services. In fact, many of them can travel anywhere in the world and pay cash for medical services. What this does is trap middle class workers into a system that takes more and gives less in return. That is why the website was designed to rope people in before they knew the final costs of exchange level care.

Those were the particular acts of death control which had the maximum leverage over everything else that later happened.
