It might have to do with the russell brand stuff. (he was married to her)

He has a "day job" which is a BBC nighttime show where he ends every sentance with "Lets turn this into an orgy"

And then he tells BBC daytime reporters that the system is punative. I wonder if he is booked as "talent" for the the next olymics somewhere in the realm. Is H.K. still under lease? Japan is right out!

Off topic but with the passing of Lou Reed figured some people might be interested in reading and watching this. It is a short interview with Herbie Flowers the bass player who wrote the iconic bass line for Walk On The Wild Side, talks about how he came up with it and how it is actually 2 bass lines overdubbed.

Rewriting the Bible for the tea party libertarians; another attempt at creationist illusionism.

Well WB7 benefits from that intemporal blessing of artistic licence in name of free will. No problem with that.

On a more historical and objective footing; the current FED is not a classic Keynesian inspiration of balancing private enterprise and government interventionism; balancing the THEN FED's monetarism which created the 1929 crisis by federal fiscalism on a moderate scale, strong medicine all the same due to exceptional capitalist hubris warranting Glass-Steagall et al.

Today in the after math of Greenspan's monetarism gone mad, under PRIVATE Oligarchy sway, the FED's private controlled monetarism and SUBSEQUENT crony political surrogate fiscalism as desperate knee jerk,  dry out the public balance all to the benefit of private wealth in Caymanista territories. We have gone from bad to worse NOT to save the middle/working  class as in 1930s, but to BURY it!

Saving the rich was NOT the thrust of FDR's fiscal drive and Keynesian invention. It was to COUNTER the irrational hubris of private FED monetarism and WS exuberance of Oligarchy speculation gone viral; to save the working man by creating jobs.

BIG DIFFERENCE about cause and effect. Forgetting that rationale is denaturing history. Period.

I like the poetry of pictoral productions. This one tells a poetic tale but its historically false.

The Oligarchy of private sector makes all the calls; the current congress protects them, all the while trying to protect its own electorate by buying their votes thru Obamacare; vain exercise in doing the great splits that Pax Americana cannot support indefinitely.

Lets leave Keynes's ghost to lie in peace and not abuse his reputation like those of Saccho and Vanzetti; or Oppenheimer.

Fall Guys are such easy meat for the hungry vultures of reactionary bend who would lie to save their dark souls of wretched chicanery now visible to all.

Keynes is being tormented in hell 24/7/365, as it should be. Wasn't his proper title really Lord Keynes, Baron of Tilton? Wasn't he also a Director of the British Eugenics Society?

The only vultures in our society are people like Keynes who sit in the comforting branches of the Fed-.gov magical money tree, gazing down with a sadistic gleam in their eye at the debt slaves struggling below, waiting for them to keel over so they can swoop in and feed on their carcass.

The irony is, once the dead slaves are almost eaten, the vultures always turn on each other.

I'm surprised you think so negatively of TP or libertarians (normal people) and try to equate an elitist, statist socialist snob with all that is good and righteous in the world.

Is this for our own good too? ;-)

I don't feel badly about people and their personal beliefs, I feel badly about ideology : making a mantra, a dogma, about somethng which is not time proven. Libertarianism as a contrarian view is very respectable. Ron Paul's views are eminently respectable.

But its in the crucible of power we find out if an ideology is worth its theoretical promise or if it is just a tinsel curtain for other agendas. I've posted enuff on this theme to show those who like Ronnie and Maggie sang that libertarian song at election but did not put it into practice. I "read their lips" like the whole world did.

I know you guys keep saying : "we wait for our true Messiah. All these guys were phonies."

Well, if ever a Libertarian comes to power we'll find out what he is really like under fire. All those in COngress are just not worth even talking about. Enuff said on that.

I won't bother to respond on Keynes. He is history. You and I cannot rewrite that; just reinterpret it.

"I know you guys keep saying..."

You guys...meaning what, exactly?

It may give small comfort to "our" antagonists that we are all susceptible to temptation, vice and arrogance but that makes us human doesn't it?

Just like an elitist, socialist snob like "Lord" Keynes.

"Our" deal, if I may be so bold and speak for the huddled masses is, is we don't make a career out of sucking off the public teet. We are also uncomfortable accepting titles from the state and its lackeys and as soon as we feel the tentacles of cronyism around us we come home, as that is where we belong, not with it.

The world does not revolve around the overbearing, egotistical, self important hucksters at the center of what they percieve as power.

It revolves around, a little girl bringing her daddy a giant red rose...plucked from the kings garden, that was planted by slave labor, by the kings order, tended by his well paid favored gardener, after stealing the money to pay him, from us.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Its a wonderful rose ;-)

what is wrong with Lord Keynes? you write "Lord" as if to imply he wasn't a Peer of the Realm, as BARON KEYNES, of Tilton, in the County of Sussex, with a seat in the House of Lords

a lot of tradition and heritage, behind this albeit very "tribal" way of honouring people. just because "you guys" decided years ago that this does not "fit" you, you don't have to disparage people who still do

look it this way: your "tribe" honours people according to their bank accounts

is it really that better? (thinking about a poorer yet "Lord" Blankfein)

(just joking, yet with a kernel of "think about it") ;-)

Tue, 10/29/2013 - 18:14 | 4102952 nmewn

lol..."my tribe" does not honor people based on their bank accounts or else we would in fact not be mocking the patronage and/or monarchial systems others hold in such high esteem the way they do.

Respect is earned in "my tribe" not something handed out by the state or by birth.

As an aside, I believe royalty is one of the biggest welfare frauds there is...something for you to think about ;-)

who cares, pomposity is like beauty its in the eyes of the beholder.

Your free will is yours and your mind is its own keeper.

Don't debase real people who have made a contribution to the collective thread like they were turds of your own pile.

Keynes was probably one of the greatest practioners of his own crazy art called economia which is not a science.

Guys like him worked for a boss man; leader of the free world. He didn't shape the Vatican he just painted a ceiling. Some people do a good job at that. He left a mark, good or bad, it shaped sixty years of the west's time line.

Now, having said this,  I find your pomposity very amusing.

falak, I thought I'd get the zh pomposity award, mainly for my writing style. damn, foiled again

my thoughts on Lord Keynes:

what if he was right? not on the voodoo economic theory of his, I'm thinking more about "Guns and Butter", or better, about the fact that his theories shifted the world economy from a moment when the US could have relapsed into a Peace Economy to a Permanent War Economy

wasteful, yes. yet with an amount of state-sponsored Research & Development that the world has never seen before - except during wars

remember how your darling Renaissance cities were constantly warring? and how this resulted in Princes hiring people like Leonardo da Vinci, capable of designing portable bridges, new war material and so on? and how banking, manifacturing, etc. flourished, also thanks to the demand from war?

yes, in a way is demeaning that we profit only indirectly from all the things that were researched for war purposes, yet the profits were possibly, just possibly, the only reason why we have a planetary population of 7 billions at all

most of the debt which is burdening us all is still war debt anyway. 1971 followed Viet Nam. this crisis followed Iraq and Afghanistan. it's the new, fresh wars which destabilize the financial world

the "trick" might have been to keep the "war footing" with it's R&D without going to war

as in "If you seek peace, prepare for war"

------------

War is the father of all and the king of all; and some he has made gods and some men, some bound and some free. Heraclitus of Ephesus

She was a Sufi mystic who lived in the eighth century. She was regarded as the first female saint of Sufism, the mystical tradition of Islam.

The time line for philosophy is immense. Its acts, that determine facts, that's the uniqueness of the western construct.

Obamacare benefits certain members of the oligarchy tremendously but I would argue that the elite in the US is dissatisfied and disappointed. Their privilege of health care is going to take a beating because the system cannot afford to treat all Americans, let alone all Americans equally. The elite may still think they can get better quality and access by paying more but they will soon realize that their supply chain has been infiltrated and there is a limit on doctors, nurses and so and and what they're able to accomplish.

Short, rationing of health care will affect the elite and if they've studied history they will realize this very soon. No matter how much they've given lipservice to Obama this and that. This is cutting in their own flesh and they're not going to like it.

When the elite gets pissed off, it is high time to prepare for the exit or be caught in the downdraft.

Has the tribe lost control? Have they created a monster of unintended consequences by the name of bureaucracy that must be fed those priveledged to print dollars while they crush the economy. All thats left to do is mop up as many real assets for themselves with the funny money (bullion included) before the dolly house comes down. And when the dolly house comes down they can buy all kinds of deflating assets with the skyrocketing new money called gold. With any luck they can move over to SDR's and run the whole scam on a global scale for another 100 years and America can join their bevy of banana republics. Something like that anyway.
