Stand Together Now Or You Will End Up Facing the Police State Alone …

George Washington's picture

Preface: German pastor Martin Niemöller initially supported Hitler. But he later opposed him, and was imprisoned in the Dachau concentration camp for years.

Niemöller learned the hard way that keep your head down doesn’t keep one out of trouble … in the long run, it increases the danger to all of us.

Niemöller wrote a brilliant poem – First They Came – about the manner in which Germans allowed Nazi abuses by failing to protest the abuse of “others” … first gypsies, gays, communists, and Jews, then Catholics … and eventually everyone.

This is my modern interpretation of Niemöller’s poem …

First they tortured a U.S. citizen and gang member
I remained silent;
I wasn’t a criminal

Then they tortured a U.S. citizen, whistleblower and navy veteran
I remained silent;
I wasn’t a whistleblower

Then they locked up an attorney for representing accused criminals …
I remained silent;
I wasn’t a defense attorney

Then they arrested a young father walking with his son simply because he told Dick Cheney that he disagreed with his policies
I remained silent;
I’ve never talked to an important politician

Then they said an entertainer should be killed because she questioned the government’s version of an important historical event
I remained silent;
I wasn’t an entertainer

Then they arrested people for demanding that Congress hold the President to the Constitution
I did not speak out;
I’ve never protested in Washington

Then they arrested a man for holding a sign
I held my tongue;
I’ve never held that kind of sign

Then they broke a minister’s leg because he wanted to speak at a public event …
I said nothing;
I wasn’t a religious leader

Then they shot a student with a taser gun and arrested him for asking a question of a politician at a public event …
I remained silent;
I wasn’t a student

Then they started labeling virtually every innocent and normal behavior as marking Americans as “potential terrorists”
I remained silent;
I didn’t want to be called a terrorist

Then they threw political dissenters in psychiatric wards
I remained silent;
I didn’t want to be seen as crazy

Then they declared that they could label U.S. citizens living on U.S. soil as “unlawful enemy combatants” and imprison them indefinitely without access to any attorney …
I remained silent;
I didn’t want to be labeled an enemy

Then they assassinated an American citizen without any court trial
And they killed his son because he should have had a “far more responsible father”
I remained silent;
I live on American soil

Then they declared that they could assassinate U.S. citizens living on U.S. soil without any due process of law (update) …
I remained silent;
I didn’t want to be on the list

Then they forced down the airplane carrying the president of a sovereign nation, because they were looking for a whistleblower
I remained silent;
I’m not a foreign leader

Then they called for the founder of an independent publisher to be killed by drone
I remained silent;
I don’t want to worry about drone strikes against me

Then they started spying on all Americans, even though top experts say that doesn’t protect us from terrorism
I remained silent;
I didn’t want to call even more attention to myself from the spies

Then they charged the partner of an investigative journalist with terrorism for transporting whistleblowing documents to the journalist regarding illegal NSA spying
I remained silent;
My wife isn’t a journalist

When they came for me,
Everyone was silent;
there was no one left to speak out.

Postscript: I originally wrote this poem in 2007. I have updated it with additional verses as current events have unfolded.

I.e., "all it takes for evil to flourish is for good people to do nothing" well-known quote I can't remember completely ... Doesn't even have to involve questioning the "government". People lose their livelihoods all the time for questioning confusing policies or simply asking if something is fair or unfair... All it takes people with a little power who enjoy baiting people, tossing vague conversations around so someone is bound to misunderstand, yelling at people public just get other's to turn and look at the poor schmoe standing there getting yelled at many many people get a charge out of humiliating other people ...so the problem you describe goes on at every level and the silence is just as deafening when no one speaks out in less dramatic cases than in more dramatic ones. ... the comments about bullying someone else posted apply at every level..." Government people" are still "us" in many ways... They reflect a concentration of or especially good examples of qualities many people in society possess or value to some degree.

I will not remain silent: the West was taken over by Jews/Marxists in the 1960's, and this extremely rich, vicious tribe has been very busy erecting the USSA, with them in total control of the big banks, the school system, Hollywood, the mainstream media, and all chokepoints of government. Do not be cowed by Holyhoax propaganda. If you see one of these commies, say something.

GW,

Can you be more specific, please?

You say, "Stand together." ... but, how?

People are milling around, having no strategy; not knowing how or where to resist. There are so many discrete assaults against us, that we don't know which way to turn.

Well, that's my understanding of the situation.  And, nobody wants to be the first to die.

Look at the man laughing at 0:35.

Then listen to CNN:
"was he part of an anti-government group, that is rising in popularity across the United States, as in; could this happen again?" (4:20)
"patriot movement, very important word "patriot"" (4:45)

graph on the screen:
"patriot movement beliefs
Destroy american freedoms
Force U.S. into a socialistic world government
Impose martial law onto United States
Take away non law-enforcement weapons - cited "Southern Poverty Law Center"

Then Mark Potok
"He talked about the New World Order
He talked about fiat currency
And he talked about the Federal Reserve
In the world of the patriot groups, or what we used to call; the militia groups, those things all relate to a single conspiracy theory
the idea that american free.. uh well really that there is a part on the american government to create a one world government, a socialitstic totalitarian regime, to be called the new world order. Many people in the patriot world trace that conspiracy to the formation of the Federal Reserve in 1913, and the subsequent abolition of gold backed money. (.......) It's simply that kind of language in the note that he left. (........)"

at 8:46 he's playing the race card
"this attack occurs in the context of a very rapidly growing number of so called patriot groups, or militia groups
I mean the growth has just been astounding, and it really did begin in the fall of 2008, the beginning of 2009 in other words precisely when our first black president has come into power. So I think that one of the big drivers of this movement is not only the person of Obama a black man in the white house, but the demographic change in our country that he represents. The idea that the white majority in this country will be lost in about 30 years."

his "opponent" (a syndicated radio host) then uses the word "TAR".

Got it? See where they're taking this?

CNN did the same thing in the 1990's. The boogy men were the militia in the days following Ruby Ridge and Waco. Probably before that too. Same propaganda different year. They make patriots the bad guy in almost every TV drama on now. They slip gun show rhetoric in all the crime shows.

They don't call it programming for nothing. The masses have been programed for years with the dulling waves of TV. It really can be likened to computer programming, just on a longer scale and less reliability. The human brain is a learning, adaptive computer of sorts that is certainly effected by input. Just like in the coding world the saying garbage in garbage out applies. I imagine the internet can produce a similar effect although much less coding in the sense that TV is passive, internet is not. I don't know, maybe the internet is worse.

So given the reality of the human mind, video games, TV, possibly the internet and movies can certainly have subtle and maybe even dramatic effects on some. And if we say that propaganda from the networks does put subtle, false ideas in the minds of many, don't we also have to conclude that a steady diet of NWO, one world government etc. could also have a negative effect with someone unstable even if every bit of it was true? Like the LAX shooter? In other words, say this kid had never heard of the NWO, would he have committed a similar crime? Or would this person have eventually offed himself without harming others? Hard questions to be sure. I think he would have just offed himself without hurting others. Seems like he wanted to go out in a blaze of glory doing something good. Of course shooting up an airport and murdering is never "doing good" under any circumstances.

Which brings me to acts of violence committed in the name of patriotism or freedom or any cause. In no way will the cause of freedom be furthered by acts of violence. In fact it will only serve to crush freedom and further serfdom. Soon, patriot will mean terrorist. It already does in some circles. And the tools to deal with domestic terrorists are coming online as I write. With the US now considered part of the battlefield of the war on terror, they could deem you a terrorist and drone you at any time. I think they have a name for this, the Bubba effect I believe. Calls for neighbors to rat out patriots and report suspicious behavior will come to pass as well. Ounce we get to that point, the new Stasi will be firmly in place and freedom and patriot will be dangerous words. There will be no civil war, no new revolution just you're a terrorist and boom. Civil unrest will be allowed only for their purposes and crushed at their will.

Non-violent resistance is the only way. And I think it's really important to remember, perception is reality and that's the name of their game.

I like your stuff George. It adds dimension to the tone of the other material on ZH. Your presentations are always thoroughly documented. Your heart's in the right place. But this just isn't how it's going to play out.

Every single one of us is going to have to deal with this on our own. That's just the sad reality of it. Stop fantasizing about some Messianic charismatic leader type, some John Connor Red Dawn type nonsense, and focus on what it is you can do to protect yourself and your loved ones. That's the reality of it.

Give you an example. Organize a massive... natioanal FUCK THE SYSTEM day... no wars. No insurrection. No drama. Just STOP participating with the entire system. Do not shop. Do not travel. Do not eat out. Do not watch a single sporting event. Do nothing. Stay at home, spend quality time with the family. Read a book. Meditate. Pray. Just one day. Now... imagine the ripple effect across the entire system if everyone did JUST this one small deed.... nothing. For just ONE day. You would see massive changes tomorrow. But, we've become so absolutely pathetic, so dependant on the entire bogus "system," it's just can't happen. People don't actually grasp the amount of power they have as individuals.. that all they have to do is act in concert, and change would be afoot. You don't need to occupy Wallstreet. You don't need to do anything. THAT's the whole point. Withdraw your partipation from the System withdraw your consent... and you've deprived the System of its main source of fuel. Just. That. Simple.

So the Syria outcome seems increasingly more likely. A slow, grinding, violent, chaotic, brutal, decay. But, I've seen that movie already and I've gotten bored with it, so I've executed the other option.

I left.

The primary point that GW is making is that empires maintain their power by divide and rule.  The Roman patrician class literally raised this to a science.  If we allow the scumbag psychopath bloodlines who think that they own this planet to keep us divided by race, class (at least among the bottom 99.99%), religion, ethnic groups, bogus red-blue bullshit paradigm, etc. then they will succeed in locking the whole planet into a totalitarian neofeudal system of zombified debt serfs.  Their overall strategy is one of increasing centralization of pyramidal power leading to a one world digital currency, political ruling technocratic elite, and army.  Decentralization of power yields self-autonomy.  This is how to fight the beast.  Non-comply to whatever your current level of courage will allow.

Military men are just dumb, stupid animals to be used as pawns in foreign policy.

two things used to make the usa exceptional(really exceptional, not obama exceptional). the first one was the idea of a republic in a time marked by aristocracies from east to west. the second, most profound reason, was the design of the usa .gov as an explicit guard against the abuses of .gov. the idea of a people run .gov is a relatively new phenomenon and all have trended toward more and more .gov control over the people. expecting the usa or any other democratic type country to exist forever is naive. the usa is clearly nearing the end of its reign. let's all hope it is no worse than the ussr meltdown.

If we understand that money is fake then you can be certain that they also know this. Our money is more of a means of control or a perpetuator of the societal illusion.

Once it becomes more obvious to the masses that it is all just a skam then the elite just say
"fuck it" and round everyone up. You cannot cut their puse strings unless you know where all the gold is.

I view those riots in Greece as an example. Let the people protest and vent their frustration until it gets tiresome then just have some cops dress up as protestors, throw some molotovs and then use brute force to crush the protest. Few have the courage and stamina for prolonged battle against the soldiers of the status quo.

Very poetic truth. However, unless there is some series of extremely improbable political miracles then those already runaway systems are going to continue to pick up speed. The only realistic prediction to make appears to be that democidal martial law is going to kill off tens of millions of Americans, while billions of people world-wide will be killed off by more genocidal wars. Since there seems zero chance of people agreeing upon better death control systems, we are necessarily going to default down to the worst possible death control systems actually happening.

The basic problem in the background is the historical pattern of exponential growth, which can not be sustained, and whose limits approach us at an exponentially accelerating rate. The ONLY theoretical solutions, by definition, are some system of death controls, to limit the growth. Ideally, that ought to be done through a greater use of information, enabling a higher consciousness. However, almost all the public opposition to the runaway social insanities of the current systems, promotes the same old-fashioned sets of false fundamental dichotomies, and related impossible ideals, as the "solutions" to the problems of the current systems, which are the ways that the debt controls are backed by the death controls, and so, when the debt slavery turn into debt insanity, that then must result in the death controls defaulting to death insanities.

The overall realities are that governments are necessarily organized crime, operated by the best organized gang of criminals. All human realities are always organized systems of lies, operating organized robberies. Money is measurement, backed by murder. None of those things can be changed by promoting false fundamental dichotomies, and their related impossible ideals, as the source of the solutions to those problems. The only real solutions are for there to be an evolutionary ecology between the different systems of organized lies, operating organized robberies. Tragically, the destruction of the rule of law becomes a monster, such that the people who feed that eventually get eaten by that monster too. Thus, the "they" that come for everyone else, one by one, eventually end by destroying themselves too.

As far as I can tell, nothing is going to stop that from happening. There is no effective opposition, because the fake opposition is dominated by people who spout the same kind of bullshit false fundamental dichotomies and impossible ideals as those who run the systems also promoted. Therefore, the sterile debates between those who actually run the real debt/death control systems who deny what they are doing, while those who oppose them deny that anyone should ever consciously operate any such systems at all. Therefore, we have vast, globalized money/murder systems, which operate through the maximum possible deceits and frauds, in which not only those doing them lie about everything as much as they can, but also those who claim to be opposing them also lie about everything too.

Therefore, transforming the actual systems to become something truly better appears to be practically impossible, since that would require more radical truth about the social facts, including admitting how and WHY those are the real social facts. None of that appears remotely possible inside systems where the establishment is built on triumphant deceits and frauds, while their controlled opposition stays within the same frame of reference, or paradigm of huge lies in the basic ways they they all think about their problems. While it would be theoretically possible to evolve a better human ecology, within a better industrial and natural ecology, that is NOT possible as long as the central core concept of the death controls not only operates through the maximum possible deceits, but also the controlled opposition to that promotes the same set of impossible ideals, which are even more deceitful, since they are still impossible to ever actually exist in the real world.

Given the depth of those paradoxical problems, the only reasonable prognosis for the runaway terminal social insanity and sickness that we are watching, as the fascist plutocracy builds a fascist police state, is that MUST result in resolving our exponentially growing problems by mass murder through democidal martial law, and more genocidal wars. Since having a better public debate about how to operate better death controls is practically impossible, the apparently necessary default is to have the worst possible systems actually become what are implemented. Thus, this poetic representation of the nature of these problems by George Washington is almost certainly correct ... although things are trillions of times worse now than ever before ...

Von Clauswitz defines "WAR" as disarming a 'people', thus by defn 'war has already been declared on the ameriKKKan people'

While sympathetic to your prose,

It may as well be stated that TPTB need and do so frequently 'cull' the herd for all time.

The USA has not had a 'culling' since the civil-war of 1863-ish, thus its hi time for a great culling of brother on brother, at the end of the day the 'fear police state', aka fbi, dea, cia, nsa, will stand to protect gubmint property and judges and politicians,

The 'little people' will be left to kill themselves,

In all war in human history, you have choice kill them all or enslave them prior to civil-war many were slaves, post civil war many become 'industrial slaves', today there is no work, as all has been 'exported', thus about 100M souls need to be 'culled' from the USA herd.

Call it what you wish, and write on elegantly, but everything is in place to see that the HERD IS CULLED.

In such a culling, the safest place, is far from the action, .e.g. never been a better time to be faraway from the USA.

As a species, I think that we're going to have to learn this lesson the hard way.  Oil is the biggest keystone that, once knocked out of place by exponential growth (or anything else,) will cause all sorts of things to fail.  Transportation, agriculture, plastics... if it's part of industrial society, you name it and it's probably dependent on oil.  There is one upside to oil becoming very expensive though.  It will make the federal government much less relevant in the long run.  One of many downsides, however, is that the federal government will likely become more dangerous while it is trying to clutch onto its former relevance.  With expensive oil, it becomes difficult to impossible to manufacture, maintain and run things like MRAPs and drones, and as the people want what is a bigger percentage of a dwindling resource and all of the goods that it leads too, the federal government and its cronies are going to try to hold on to as much as they can, at our expense.  It appears that it is already in the process of becoming more dangerous, but I do not see things breaking until a lot of people are worried not about what they are going to eat for dinner tonight, but rather when they are worried if they will eat dinner tonight.

We could only wish, but probably one of the greatest myths around is that the USA man has balls,

If you look at the USA history, it has never won a war, certainly the US Revolution, wasn't so much 'won' as the brit's had to much more to loose in India, and Asia.

WWI&WWII don't count cuz the USA waited until the war's were almost over to engage,..

Ever since WWII the USA has clearly lost every war,

But the 'men' the individual has never stood up against the US imperial power going all the way back to 1776, ... in no case has anybody that ever organized got much pass ranting and raving. Probably the 1890's came closest to 'radical socialism', and they were beaten, killed, and imprisoned.( emma goldman, ... )

Its a great myth, but the USA is a failed penal colony, that went agriculture to industrial to information, to no work at all, and now TPTB has no reason to 'feed' hungry mouths, ... other than forced prostitution, or breeding for tissue and blood, there is really no purpose in the bulk of the USA population,

'Patriotism' in "V for Vendetta' is excellent, but in the case of the USA, for 'what', even in that movie that proclaimed that the USA had become a syphilitic nation of diseased criminals. 'V' gave his life, but it was clear that simply destroying a building would never change human nature.

Certainly that Movie is 100%, even the 'fingermen' are likened to today's DHS aka homeland security.

Refusing to sit in the back of the bus had an effect. However, at the same time, our cities burned with masive and widespread rioting that even reached within a mile or two of the White House. We also had the images of german shepherds attacking people in the street as racists in the South forcefully put down peaceful protests. It is inaccurate to attribute the dismantling of institutional racism to peaceful acts of resistance. There was a stew of resistance and rebellion. One might as well argue that institutional racism was defeated by drafting white southerners and putting them on patrol with black men in the jungles of vietnam. When someone of another race saves your life it is hard to hate him because he is a different color.

Protest for 'what'? What is there to win?

Everything has been stolen and removed from the USA is long gone.

All that remains is hungry mouths that sense 'entitlement',

Do you really think that if there was a 'revolution' that the new gubmint wouldn't rob those who have anything to distribute the loot? Certainly that's what happened post civil-war in the south.

The problem is its have's versus have-not's, the majority never had shit, and never will.

The 'Democracy' will always vote for those who promise the most loot, all elections are always an advance auction of stolen good's.

The problem today is if your not 'gubmint' your little people, and the majority can't handle that, but the purchasing power of the USD will fail, and the 'gubmint' people will then be begging for food, ...

All this shit was predicted long ago by Tocqueville when he first 'cruised' the USA back in the mid 1800's.

The USA was nation of hairlips and voting is-was a transfer of stolen goods from have's to have-nots, today the have's are transferring their assets out-of-the-USA, ... soon there will be nothing left to steal,

So you have a 'new' revolution, and again I ask what did you fight for?

Liberty.  I can grow my own food, fashion my own tools and would like to be allowed to do so without some bureaucrat telling me how to do it and threatening to take my property away if I don't pay a property tax.  What I want is simple.  I want to be left alone.

+1.

Too bad there aren't more of us in the USA anymore. Talk to most folks, especially those under 35, and they couldn't even imagine a life without the State there to tell them what to do, and what not to do, and provide them with "help". It's incredible to me, especially when you consider the earliest settlers here and those who settled the frontier. That wasn't that long ago compared to the long histories of Europe and Asia.

The problem now is how do you split the US into a part that wants liberty and a part that wants whatever-the-hell-this-shit-is? More importantly, if you split them, how do you keep them from destroying each other.

The split you describe can occur through actual secession. The problem is it will never be allowed to happen (see US history circa 1861). The reasons are several, but the general idea is that although you could easily divide this country into the two entities you described......those who desire to live in or manage the 'whatever-the-hell-this-shit-is' version.....deep down inside KNOW their system is totally unsustainable in the long run. Thus, they in fact NEED the other half, as it is through the taxation of their labor and redistribution of their wealth....that they themselves subsist.

So much so in fact, that they are willing to ENSURE there is no such 'split' through the application of government violence.

Keep the love. Each of one of us is change. Reading your posts, conjuring, conjecturing, communicating, that is revolution. They have your thinking framed to think you are powerless. Nothing will happen until a critical mass is disaffected, and then a whole new set of rules will apply. Change yolurself, change the world, and keep the love, that will break the cycle. They want to harness your hate. If you give them nothing to harness, their carriages don't move.

It's all over, our country will become a police state because they plan to not pay on all those promises the govt. made financially and they know once the checks stop coming in  people will riot.

That is the plan. Quite simple really. Light the match and then just sit back and let the herd give them all the justification they need to implement all that has been prepped. I am afraid I must admit that if I am placing a bet on the outcome I would have to bet that the plan works. I hope I am wrong, but realize it is going to be very ugly regardless.

> Plant seeds NOW!

The time for planting those seeds was twenty years ago, before the 9/11 coup. When Alex Jones was Bill Hicks. When Waco should have been the line in the sand ... but instead, most folks cheered, if they cared one way or another at all.

Now's the time for developing a better relationship with God ... there's tares amongst the wheat.

God wants no part of what's comin, we are on our own.  Does it benefit the child if the father always has to save the son?  This is a lesson we have to learn [and fix] on our own.  Same argument I make to the "Aliens are gonna save us crowd".  Whether its "God" or Aliens that are gonna "Save" us I say send 'em back cause what does that make us??  They "Welfare" planet of the solar system, and why would God intervein?  This is a Man-made problem that only Man [humans] can fix, either we learn our lesson and take out our own trash or its pretty much a wrap for humanity, but YMMV ~ Have a Nice Day :)

A coworker and I were just talking about this same thing.  He is a scholar of history.  He's a simple delivery guy in our hospital.  Loves history.  He has so many stories that shockingly show that this country is going down the same path of so many other countries of the past...and present.  He doesn't have a lot of friends...but talks to the extremist pharmacists that work with him.  (Several of us that are on watch lists)  :)

I just can't get used to the idea of USSA and I never will.  Scratch that...we never will let it happen...  And there are more of us than you think.  We wake people up because we don't care what the response is from the mindless sheeple that refuse to believe or the authority that keeps them in a trance.  Do not be afraid.  The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.  I believe that was quoted by a famous "progressive".

Its already happened. All of the Liberties we had are now an illusion. The Socialists have controlled the public schools for forty years, and the socialist control the Boomers by conning them with promised entitlements. We are a nation of fools that think the majority of politicans are honest and honorable. The Socialist control the media and the media feeds the masses with pure propaganda. I fail to understand how you can't see that it already has happened.

One small crit....

"Then they started spying on all Americans."

They started decades ago, it's just the tech that's changed.
