Banzai, just saw Blackoak Arkansas at a bar in Middletown NY. Johnny Bolin was their drummer. he's the brother of Tommy Bolin who was a great guitar player that died from a hot shot in the 70's. We used to watch Zepher in the 70's in Colorado when he played with them. I spoke to Johnny Sunday about his brother and we both agreed that James Gang Bang was one of the best albums the James Gang ever produced. Check it out. Interesting conversation with Johnny. he said that Tommy was murdered.
Zepher is a big blast from the past. The group with the female hottie lead singer? Candy Givens...James Gang were very underrated.
Bolin played with Billy Cobham and Jan Hammer on Spectrum and toured with Deep Purple as well.
William, I saw Zepher the summer of 1969 at Mile High Stadium, They were great, they got most of the tear and CS gas on the third night, never missed a line, blew me away. Jimi played the last night, watched him do an encore, with Tim Buckley and Johnny Winter all jammin, on the "All Along the Watch Tower" The Hottie Lead singer was absolutely amazing, whalen out her song, teargas surronding her, one of the imageing I have of the summer of 69 etched for life. Had to be there to know the experience!
They were really a tough street band. I knew it back then.

My brother told me about 7 years ago that as long as he can get a rotisserie chicken for 5 bucks, he's not going to worry or bitch about what's going on. Yesterday I saw a chicken sell for under $5 at Walmart. Pretty representative of Americans in general I think; well at least for those with income. Personally I think we are very fortunate that the status-quo can even be maintained even as fucked up as it is, let alone be improved upon here in America.
The modern day equivalent of "a chicken in every pot".....since Americans don't know how to cook their own chickens anymore.
It's the day you can't buy that chicken at any price because Walmart is just a happy memory that I prepare for.
